I made an appointment to be seen by one of the PAs. She had them x-ray my knee, to make sure there was no bone issue going on. After a physical exam, she told me that I was correct, it was a torn meniscus. She wanted me to get an MRI done to get a good look at it. She did not provide me with anything to help with my knee in the meantime. When I tore my left meniscus, I had been given a brace to wear by the doctor I saw at their Clemmons location. That helped me to continue to be able to walk. Luckily, I still had that brace, so I just wore it for the same amount of time I had been advised to the previous time. The MRI confirmed the tear. The surgeon I saw when I came in for the results of the MRI gave me two options. One was surgery, where they would use a scope to go into my knee and clean out the loose tissue. He said I would be out of work for 12 weeks, possibly less, if I felt well enough to go back sooner. The second option was physical therapy. He said there was a chance it might not help, and it was a very conservative approach to my condition. I almost felt like he was hoping I would say surgery. I opted for physical therapy. Luckily, it worked, and I do not need surgery.

The ONLY thing Dr. Yoder told me was to not take ibuprofen or any other anti inflammatory medications 2 weeks before my injection and to not take any 4 days after my injection. Insurance does not cover the injection which I'm fine with if it delays me getting a knee replacement. Dr. Yoder DID NOT GIVE ME ANY AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS. Just to not ice my knee and the information about anti inflammatory medications. It's extremely upsetting that I looked up after care almost 2 weeks after my injection bc I was in so much pain. Only to find out online that you should have STRICT instructions of what NOT to do until 12 weeks AFTER your injection! I had been doing several things on the list of WHAT NOT TO DO bc I wasn't advised. I'm praying I didn't mess up the injection since I wasn't told what NOT to do for 12 weeks. It's extremely upsetting that Dr. Yoder was dishonest in his notes after my appointment that he "gave me after care instructions". Which was a bold faced lie. It's also extremely upsetting I paid for an extremely expensive injection and since I wasn't advised of any after care. I may have ruined the injection since I was doing things I shouldn't have been doing. The aftercare I looked up stated if you did things before the 12 weeks the injection ultimately will fail. It's exhausting going to doctors and they rarely listen and treat you like a number AND aren't truthful in after summary visit notes. I like other doctors at OrthoCarolina but I definitely don't recommend Dr. Yoder

From the time I walk into the door, I am greeted with a smile, checked in very professionally, and instructed where to sit. The lobby and ambiance of the office is beautiful! The inside is always very clean, and nicely designed to feel like a log cabin retreat. There are high ceilings with beautiful wood beams, and minimal comfy furniture. With the onset of COVID-19, staff regularly clean the seating and ensure that patients are masked and temperatures are monitored. My doctor at this practice is Dr. Schweppe. He preformed a rotator cuff and bicep surgery on my right arm in October, and everything went without complications. I am thankful for his meticulous and neat work, however my one complaint would be that when I asked for more help with managing my pain, he refused, saying his hands were tied due to "federal regulations". At that point my pain medication was only filled once since surgery, and he had already told me that this is a painful surgery that takes a while to recover from. I felt like he was unsympathetic to my very real pain and the fact that I needed relief and medical intervention. As a breast cancer survivor who suffers from chronic pain, and whose lymphadema had begun to flare because of the operation, I believe Dr. Schweppe should have, and could have, responded differently to my request. Since he declined to do so, I ended up having to get a referral outside of his office for pain management. Other than that, Dr. Schweppe and the team at Novant Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has been great to work with as I recover. From Kourtney and Jordan at the front desk, to Ms. Betty at checkout in the back, I can always count on getting a nice warm smile and some light and friendly banter while I wait for my information to be printed. My appointments are always on time, it is super easy to schedule appointments, and I believe I am kept abreast of my treatment plan, especially with the help of the MyChart application. If you have any orthopedic issues, I highly recommend the folks at Novant Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. When you go by, tell them Kindra sent ya!

I asked him to direct me on how to place my shoulder on the table, and he proceeded to grab my arm without permission (I have a messed-up shoulder, by the way) and pulled it down very hard. I asked him why he would grab me that way. He said it's easier for him to do it himself than to explain.... excuse me! Unfortunately, most people if not all people that use Dr. Handy's services isn't by choice but…read morethose that do are definitely blessed. I first met Dr. Handy and his assistant PA Paul at Moses Cone while I laid in the emergency room in excruciating pain after (in short) falling off a house. Dr. Handy is the head of Traumatic Orthopedic Surgeons in the area and in my opinion is well suited for that role. After some meds, they took a few minutes to relocate my elbow. Sent me for X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. The next day they had me scheduled for elbow replacement surgery which due to the severe damage took several hours. Their bedside manner was great and the instructions of what and how the plans were was easily to understand even to someone as in pain and on meds as I was. They did a phenomenal job. Since the surgery, I have been to the office once (11 days later). They removed the cast, took more X-rays, removed the stitches, and set me up for physical therapy. Eleven days, that's how good they are. I love their attitudes and personality. I don't want another issue like this but if it happens I'll be requesting Dr. Handy personally. Now, unfortunately I may have to have shoulder surgery in the near future for the same fall but Dr. Handy will only be making the call if I do, another surgeon would be performing it. I know and trust Dr. Handy to make the right call. **My only complaint or concern is the length of time it took to get my FMLA papers completed and returned to my workplace. However, I didn't deduct a star for this for the simple reason the office has been short staffed for two weeks and they've did the best they could.

I decided to go with him to his last visit. I needed advice on buying new shoes. Dr. Collard was able to give us excellent advice on what brands and types of qualities that would benefit his feet. I feel confident we will find shoes that work for him. The office personnel were efficient and professional. I would definitely recommend Dr. Collard for any foot issues. You will be taken care of quite well.

When we arrived the receptionist was professionally dressed, efficient, very cheerful and welcoming. The office is clean, comfortable and amusingly decorated with feet. I liked the blue duck feet best. The music was nice too. There were several people ahead of us as we arrived early. Each person was called in order and no one had to wait for very long. The nurse was personable and really knew her stuff. Dr Lyerly came right in, looked the toe over, collaborated with what the nurse had said. He then gave a clear description of his recommendation. He numbed the toe, preformed surgery, bandaged it up, gave us instructions and sent us on our way. The conversation was fun and the whole thing was refreshing. We are going back in two weeks so the dr can make sure all is healing well. Thank you all for your wonderful service. We highly recommend Dr Lyerly and his office.
