Someone was always available for his needs. He had cancer and many interventions were utilized in attempt to make him as comfortable as possible. Everyone that involved with his care was kind but two individuals whom I had the most contact with were his hospice nurse Brian Sauro and Pastor Lee Seese and who deserve outstanding awards (5 star +++). They visited him regularly, and in my brother's final days, Brian was there every day and made certain that he had all the medications that he needed to help with pain management, supplies that were needed to keep him clean and comfortable. Heartland Hospice now reaches out to keep in touch with the family to make certain that we are having our emotional needs met. Thanks to all of those individuals who were there for my brother and for our family. If anyone needs a hospice service, I would recommend them.

Asked to have her showered three times and in 20 days was only showered 2x. She would ask for food and they would totally forget until I had to call in. Upon discharge had to request prescriptions to be sent multiple times after I was told they were sent. She was left in chair for very long times and told to go to the bathroom in her diaper. Although everyone seemed very nice when you spoke to them the level of care was very poor. My mom had two falls while there as not enough support around. Had to intervene many times for attention/care. Would not recommend unless you are available to be there to assist most of the time.

We tried working with Home Instead and the county detectives to prevent him from ever working with a senior again, but after nearly a year, it seems that nothing will be done to stop it. I have heard very good things about Home Instead, and there were some great care givers I interacted with, who I would highly recommend. However, stealing large amounts of money from a dying man is not OK. In the end there was video and other evidence, but nothing happened. This isn't about the money for me, but I don't want anyone to have this happen to them. Home Instead and the investigators should have blackballed this guy for life --- but now he could be taking care of your Mom or Dad. That's very, very wrong.

She never spoke to or saw any of her friends again. A devout atheist, Vitas sent a preacher to bother her as she died. Her care attendant was clearly abusing stimulants. One nurse turned her oxygen down while I was shopping. My friend asked me if the nurse, Leah, was trying to kill her. Her garbage social worker Jennifer caused her to die miserably and alone. My biggest failure as a caregiver was not protecting my dear friend from Vitas hospice.
