I would NEVER recommend this company and never use them. They have absolutely NO follow up with their clients, and they didn't even know my Mom's diagnosis, nor did they care what her diagnosis was. We "terminated" using them after 3 "visits". Their quality of care was horrible, and the Physical Therapist should not even be licensed. He didn't even care, was arrogant and cocky. They said they would call us for a follow up appt, and we never heard back. Even the nurse was complaining about the actual therapist that saw my mom. I have worked in healthcare for 30 years, and I have never seen anything like this. DO NOT use them! read more

nurse calls provider about a prescription that was called in the day before . this nurse didn't even know what medications the patient was on ! stated pharmacy was not filling the prescription because they were already on it! problem is reaching out to me without doing their job ! I called the pharmacy the prescription was ready and was waiting to be picked up since yesterday. read more

Do no use this company. If we had a choice we would have never chosen them. We were lied to from the very beginning. Our mom had end stage sepsis. The representative we met with said that they would take great care to make sure she was always comfortable. The day she was released from the hospital, it took until 9:00 pm. for them to get her morphine. She was in such discomfort it made me want to cry. They told us their doctor would approve orders and they would be giving mom her meds on schedule, which was not further from the truth. We had a different person see her each day, no one really got to know her and seemed caring. They stopped in for about 10 minutes and then were on their way. We were told that they would follow our family even after mom passed to be sure that we didn't need any help of any kind in dealing with our grief. Our mother passed on a Sunday night and we did not hear from them that night or any other. It has been 6 weeks and we still have heard nothing from them. No sympathy card, no phone call, nothing. Our dad had Hospice when he passed 6 years ago, and they were wonderful. They were so caring and attentive to his and our every need, and kept in touch with us up to 2 years after. Just checked in to see how we were doing. And THAT agency went out of business! I am do very disappointed that mom's last days were not as comfortable as they could have been. My mother began with Compassus when she was in need of hospice care at home. I found that the nurse was always prepared with rote answers. Please keep in mind that my mom was not the typical 94 year old woman she was aware of all of her meds the ndmes the dosage she was more than alert yet was spoken to as though she were a child. No solid answers were ever given whether it regarding blood pressure results, oxygen levels or anything that she felt was material. The Home health aides were not better. When they did show up, the visit lasted no more than 15 minutes. When a complaint was lodged this same nurse brought a sheet of paper that described the HHA:s duties. It consisted of one sentence and boxes with no checks. We were given very little in regards to adult pampers . We were given to non disposable chucks, no disposable chucks, when I called the main number to request a nurse because my mom was in pain, I was met, not by the receptionist but the nurse with I difference. Thank GOD that she is no longer with Compassus and I'm happy to say that 7 months later my mother is much better off than she ever was with Compassus. read more

My wife's family contracted this hospice provider for my father in law. Too many things went wrong in this situation for the mistakes to have been an aberration. Compassus failed on a consistent basis in terms of communication and delivery of services. They stated they were a 24/7 service and promptly stated they weren't available on the weekend. It took a stern call from a family member in the home care business to get things momentarily back on track. Basic supplies and medications were not delivered until countless calls had been placed. Even at the time of my father-in-law's death, a nurse failed to show for at least three hours, causing the funeral home to wait to collect his body. Medications were still at the residence after 5 days and had not yet to been retrieved. The care itself was up to expectation and the nurses and aides exhibited exceptional patience under trying conditions exacerbated by the company's poor communication. read more

Do not use this hospice. They are liars and do anything to not spend money on patient needs. My mom has several wounds that they promised they had wound care specialists for, certified. Only met one who wasn't certified but who had experience. She recommended silver alginate dressings, which have excellent antimicrobial properties. Had to beg for silver alginate after their nurses and I used up, in 2-3 weeks, all I had from another hospice and from Paoli hospital wound care. Their nurses could only find boxes of calcium alginate in their Compassus closet (no antimicrobial property; all it does is absorb exudate.) Wounds smell without silver, a sign bacteria is multiplying.) Even took my supplies I wasn't using to stock their own closet at work. Nurses and aids are fine. It is the cheapness of this company. It translates to caring more about the bottom line than the patient. Took weeks before getting the wrong silver product, then 2 more weeks before another wrong silver product, which we had to make do with both. This is a human being, my mother, who I'm having to accept inferior products for due to corporate greed of this company. Stay away if you have a loved one who needs something better than the cheapest crap. They also refused to get padded adhesive coverings for wounds! Have to use clear flat thin window adhesives because I was told the doctor said NO to padded adhesive cover bandages. Again, we used almost all I had from other hospices and Paoli hospital. After using HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS of my mom's own products from an OLD leg wound for the first 2-3 weeks, I can't seem to get dressings that needed. And after our supplies SAVED them COUNTLESS DOLLARS. ( Still using other suppliers' sterile Qtips, small window dressings, padded adhesive bandages, betadine, iodoform gauze, to name some.) These poor nurses are forced to use patients' own products rather than properly care for the patient, to save Compassus money. I was promised wound care expertise, never thought to ask if I would get best dressing products once mine ran out. There is an addendum to this. Turns out some one in charge is not asking the doctor for what we need and blaming the doctor, when all he does is sign the plan of care and for whatever is asked for. There is major incompetence going on here, and lying and placing blame, more to come. read more
