As a volunteer at my church, I was responsible for getting a baptismal ewer repaired. A year ago…read morea jeweler fixed it but the repair didn't last and the cross on the lid came off again. This ewer is very important to the church because it has been there since 1956. I searched and searched and I felt that there had to be someone in the whole of Vancouver who could do this repair and then I found Donald's Innovations and Repairs on Google. He was very methodical in examining the baptismal ewer to see if he could do the repairs before he accepted the job. He then kept in touch via e-mail with photos of the progress he was making and the whole job was finished in one week. Some are abstract and some sculptures are more realistic. There are large and very small pieces. The pieces are very pricy though but very well made for these one of a kind pieces. I also have donated many vacuums and even other equipment parts to this place of business. Yesterday I tried to clean my vacuum filter and had trouble to align the clear plastic (without bag) container. The older man and owner tried to help me. Another women walked in and he said he needed now to keep my vacuum. He said he would call me by the weekend. He called me back immediately yesterday, and asked me to pick up the vacuum. Today after surgery I went in and I thought he would consider this a FREE customer PR situation. He told me I did not align the plastic container and there placing it back the vacuum made a bad noise and did not have any suction. When I offered him several jars of homemade jam he accepted. I got almost to the outside door and he said you owe me 33.00. I said for what? He said he had to make money. No invoice and 5 minutes of conversation when I reached the door he had a change of heart. For what to align top and bottom container like a top of a drinking container. BE AWARE CONSUMERS! Gave me an initial quote, and after I asked, immediately tried to give a better price. Called me back promptly, and since they didn't have the specific window in, provided a few recommendations so I would be able to have it fixed on short notice. I'm not going to them this time, but they're definitely going to be my first call next time.
