I have numerous medical issues, including fibromyalgia, headaches, acid reflux, IBS, and arthritis. I have to admit, before coming to Complete Oriental Medical Care I was a mess and at my absolute wit's end. I was in immense pain every day, and all my doctors could do was provide prescription after prescription, none of which worked to alleviate my pain or assisted my body in any way shape, or form to help its healing process. Steven should not be allowed to practice acupuncture, in my opinion. After several visits to him for acupuncture, he ended up shoving a needle in my wrist and damaging the medial nerve. What resulted was THREE MONTHS of crippling pain in my right wrist. When I mentioned this to him just days after it happened, his response was "Well, you signed the safety waiver." He practices a very aggressive form of acupuncture and in his words the older, more reliable TCM acupuncture is "for barbie dolls". Aside from his careless method of practicing acupuncture, he is also extremely absent minded. I had to mention the same things over and over to him every visit because he could never remember them. His office also smells very bad, like mold or mildew. Absolutely horrible experience. read more

My elderly mother was diagnosed with advanced dementia back in 2015. The deterioration continued until by the end of 2018, she was losing motor control and in Jan 2019 had a bad fall and hit her head. She was almost fully unresponsive, in a high-backed wheelchair because she could not support her own head, on oxygen 24/7, had to be transferred between bed and wheelchair with an automated lift, could not feed herself, and had to be put on thickened liquids and pureed food because she was losing her ability to chew and swallow. Steven Sonmore started treating her in mid-March. After two sessions, to our surprise, she responded to simple questions with one- or two-word answers. Over the subsequent weeks, she was able to maintain short back-and-forths about a given topic. In May, my mother was taken off of daytime oxygen. Physical Therapy signed her out of their services because she was now so mobile that she could stand up and sit down on her own and walk 75 ft. with a walker. In June, Speech Therapy re-tested her, and she is now back on regular, thin liquids and ordinary soft foods. My mother now feeds herself and is able to transfer between bed, wheelchair, and even into a car. We are ethnic Chinese and have spent most of our lives in Greater China--Hong Kong, Taipei, and Beijing. We have seen numerous very good practitioners of Chinese medicine throughout Asia. I can say hands down that Steven Sonmore is the most effective doctor of acupuncture that we have ever encountered. Never have I witnessed as fast and stark an improvement as I have with the treatment of my mother's dementia. I went to Steven for a few different health concerns and was very pleased with his work with TCM (tradition Chinese Medicine) and acupuncture. I've been seeing Steven at Complete Oriental Medicine for about 2 months now for chronic migraine headaches, chronic neck tension and dysmenorrhea. The acupuncture treatments, herbs and nutritional supplements have completely eradicated my pain. For the last 15 years, I have had over 15 migraines a month.
