He quickly figured out what had gone wrong and performed a very difficult revisionist surgery that has me walking again. He is nothing short of genius and I wish I had gone to him from the start. Because I favored my right leg for so long, I began to have problems with my right knee. Went to Dr. Patel out of this same office and again, a super sharp doctor whose diagnosis and treatment led to resolution. I highly recommend both doctors here and have since referred family members who have all be happy with the service and results they've received from this highly professional establishment.

Requiring a credit card to see a pediatric patient with an immediate injury, even though the patient has had 100% verified insurance in their own system, and you also have a very good PPO in network with them (or so they say) is just ridiculous. and if you ask them not to keep the credit card info in their system for privacy reasons, they simply say well then we refuse to see you. Even if you offer to pay cash. That is very suspicious. That is also not doing the best thing for patients. This needs to change. I have the right as a patient to check my insurance EOB before being charged on my credit card and ****Stop acting like this is a retail business*** it's a medical facility. Please stop treating Patients like a commodity or just a business. You should not be in the medical field as owners of a clinic if this is how you treat and see your patients.

I have had two ankle…read morefusions and now am currently rehabbing a knee I just underwent surgery for to have 4 benign cysts removed and I was also bone on bone and had stem cells injected. All the staff is very friendly and courteous as well as knowledgeable. But I cannot say enough about Jim Matela. I have rehabbed with Jim through all my surgeries and after both ankle fusions I was able to get back to my normal activities of working out 4-5 times a week (weight lifting, elliptical, cardio kickboxing, indoor/outdoor vball, etc) without any pain or discomfort. I'm now currently 3 weeks post knee surgery and halfway along in my recovery and know there is no way I would be so far along without working with Jim and rehabbing. Jim truly has an understanding of how the whole body is connected and interacts making for full body recovery. Many PT places I have been to in the past (and there have been many since overall I have had 6 ankle surgeries and a labral hip repair) would only focus on the injured area and go through a very rinse and repeat approach with everyone. This not only made recovery time lag, it hindered recovery. By Jim focusing on everything that is also connected to the injured area recovery time has been accelerated and I've made a full recovery each time and my expectations were exceeded for what I was capable of doing again as far as my activities. I cannot recommend Jim enough, he is outstanding in his knowledge and approach.

Today the lights were out in the waiting room and when I asked, I was brushed off. We are all sitting in the dark. Old ratty furniture that always feels dirty. A TV that is usually showing grisly news in a room full of kids. A few old toys and books that seem to have been left here, but always seem dirty. I would have thought that a pediatric PT/OT place would be more conscious of the kids that are invariably in the waiting room. Aside from those few scattered toys and books, sugary lollipops are the only things that are there to make them more comfortable. I've seen parents bring in toys and leave them, just so people have something to make this place less painful. And the big kicker- they're almost always running late.

It started with my mother needing a walker on short notice. Her LaGrange Park doctor recommended two brands to us mid-March, and I worried we'd be challenged to find someone who was open and stocked them. Even amid lockdown, Shelly was more than willing to meet us, fit my mother, and get her on her way rather quickly and efficiently. I was so pleased to find someone in the area. As the weeks went on, my mother's health declined, and I called upon Shelly many times for various medical supplies, and she always came through, even delivering them to my door; that's no small thing when one is sole caretaker for someone with great need. I wound up managing home hospice for my mother, and was so grateful to have NTS in my corner across multiple needs. Shelly either produced a solution herself or recommended a resource for anything I needed, and I will ever be grateful for her service and dedication!
