The Crooked Lake Association does a great job of hosting events and keeping the community cohesive- the most notable are the fantastic 4th of July firework show and 5k race. The water is clean and beautiful and very family oriented. There are two sand bars that are a great place to float, throw a football or let kids search for shells. The lake freezes over in the winter and is great for hockey, ice skating, ice boating, or ice fishing! It's one of my favorite places, it's truly beautiful.

Upon entering the park, one will notice how this garden sends off quite a different "vibe" than western-style gardens do. Typical of Japanese design, it was thought out quite a bit, and there is a reason behind every little detail within. Every changing month seems to bring its own charm to the park. Some of those characteristics include: Water - renewal and calm Stone - longevity and forces of nature Yukimi-gata Lantern (a snow lantern) Bridges The park has all these but the water/pond which would ideally contain fish /koi. Of course, the weather here would necessitate wintering of the fish elsewhere, so it is probably a cost management issue. The park is well kept and is filled with plants, small trees, and gardens. The owners are beyond welcoming, the cabins are well stocked, but remember to bring your own bedding!
