Because we weren't prepared we didn't try out the water park - though it looked like so much fun!!! The kids got some much-needed wiggles out at the playground next door on Lake Dr, however. They especially liked the "spinnie thing" (AKA carousel!), and I liked that the side next to the road was fenced. Lots of options for kids of various ages, and spots to picnic!

We didn't do the bounce house stuff, and I believe there is a fee to partake in that. There is a $5 fee to park, but this is good for both the Blue Hole and the Park Lake areas. We just enjoyed the beach and swimming area where you can dive off the dock at the diving board, or climb up and go down the tube water slide. There are life guards stationed around as well.

It was just me and the Blue Hole in total quiet and that moment alone was worth the detour. I thought about swimming but that early in the morning the water must have been freezing and I was not trying to risk the rest of my trip by starting the day shaking. Still the view and the atmosphere made it easy to enjoy without even touching the water. There is something almost unreal about finding a bright blue pool sitting in the middle of the desert. It feels unexpected and a little magical. Even though it is tucked away in the middle of nowhere it absolutely deserves a spot on any travel route. Calm quiet memorable. I am glad I made this stop.

There are shaded picnic tables which was nice for storing gear for the day during their dives. I'm not sure if there is an entry cost for swimmers, but there were lots of folks there that day for swimming and jumping off the ledge. They all seemed to be having a good time even with the chilly water. This natural feature is 81 feet deep and stays at approximately 61 degrees year round. We were told there are also caves that branch off from the bottom but those are closed due to a past slide that blocked the entrance. There is plenty of parking. They do charge a minimal fee to park. There are restrooms in close proximity to the water. There is a public restroom and also specific restrooms for those that are diving. The water really is a pretty shade of blue.

The tracks are about a half mile walk from the lake with limited shade, so come prepared. The lake is beautiful and peaceful. I wished I could've bottled the pine smell! The deer and bunnies were happy to grace us with their presence also. Always a bonus to see animals. Not a very busy lake early in the morning had us walking the short path by ourselves and spending plenty of time reading signs and taking in the scenery. What a neat stop. So glad someone had the mind to preserve parts of our history, makes my imagination and appreciation skyrocket.

Wow. Just wow! This park is really incredible. So much for everyone to enjoy! There are 9 different…read moreplay parks!! There are ton of covered pavilions throughout the park to make it a great location for social gatherings. Multiple lakes and grazing buffalo right next to the road as you drive up! But what makes this park absolutely amazing is the disk golf course. This is one of the best disk golf courses I have ever played!! Each hole is unique with its own degree of challenge. The course is well laid out and clearly marked and you get a fantastic walk in while moving through the course. Did 9 holes and still walked 3 miles! One of the absolutely best things to do in Clovis and it's absolutely free! Park is located about 10 minutes outside of town.
