David showed up day 1 with his subcontractor and he showed up again to pick up his check. Worked seemed fine initially looking at the finished product . However, some issues began arising a month or two after completion. We tried contacting David multiple times so he could have his guys come by and fix some issues where the under decking was coming apart. I hired this firm to do a simple fencing job that has been done three times by others in the past…read more The owner did not listen to most of my instructions, installed incorrectly sized gates, did not use the material he was supposed to use to install a corner fence, and shorted me on the footage of split rail fence he installed. After he told me to stop sending him delusional e-mails when I told him the incorrectly sized gate wouldn't allow a commercial mower in, I contacted Yelp feedback. Soon after he said he would return and make repairs per contract. What he did was install agate from pressure treated pine rather than the cedar I paid for and used materials from another job on the frame he created because he didn't have a long enough support piece. The warranty gate was so poorly installed I can't even get it to open and close. He refused to replace a post that is badly split all the way down because "that's what posts are supposed to do." Many of the rails used have unsightly bark on them. He said he would take another look at it the replacement gate after being told I was filing a BBB complaint, but I responded that I would need him to honor his written warranty on the items that need to be corrected or not to bother wasting his time or mine. He did not respond to the BBB complaint that included photos and I was notified by Better Business Bureau that although his company is not a member, they have given him a D- rating based on the information and photos I supplied. To add insult to injury the owner told me he would have to trim a few branches out of his way before he began installation. His crew piled them up behind the fence line and it took me 4 hours to haul them to the curb. When returning supposedly to make warranty repairs, he began shouting at me. I have reported his conduct to Yelp, but based on my experience with this company I would not do business with them again.

I'm almost 80 and planning to continue aging in place in my own home. My plan was to join two bedrooms and have an arch doorway between the bedrooms. They made that happen and also built a wall within the second bedroom to create a bathroom with a walk-in shower with safety concerns in mind. They did all the plumbing, electrical and tile work in the bath that I had planned using ADA recommendations. They also raised the floor in the laundry room to make it level with the kitchen floor, thus removing accidents waiting to happen. My experience with the Improvement Company was pleasant, and the project outcome exceeded my expectations. The two highly skilled pros who worked in my home each day clearly knew what they were doing. Blayne and Yerber were considerate of my needs, respectful of my space, and cleaned up before leaving each day. Description of Job: Respositioning upper and lower kitchen cabinets to open space for a 48" commercial stove, installation of a vent hood, respsitioning electrical outlets, tiling of backsplash, modifying lower cabinet to install a drawer microwave and installing a new single bowl kitchen sink. Gerald and team did a FANTASTIC job. I would say that I am a very discerning consumer, with a keen eye for quality and aesthetics. They tuned into that pretty early on, and as such made choices and recommendations that suit my style and needs. It is always nice to work with someone who is willing to do a little more than necessary for the client. These guys were willing to pick up the appliances from the vendor - no small feat for a stove that weighs 670lbs. I didn't go to the store once. My home was treated with respect and each night they returned it to a usable state for me and my family. I hope in some little way this review is meaningful for Gerald and team, or for a consumer looking to hire a contractor. These guys work hard, they are honest and will give you value for the price you pay. When you see that, you respect it as it isn't always the case.
