12.2.24 Mommy has to come to High Point Cone Health MedCenter today. Greensboro was overbooked due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Luckily, it is the same distance to High Point as it is to Greensboro. But there's a bunch more traffic in High Point tho. When you pull up, there's plenty of parking. Handicapped parking is right in front of the building. There's plenty of them available. There is no valet parking. I arrived early enough to park and grab the wheel chair. Everything is located in this one building. It is 3 levels. The Emergency Room is located to the left of the elevators past the pharmacy. There's no cafeteria. However there's fully stocked vending machines as well as a coffee machine. The hot drinks are $1. Who can beat that. We went to the 3rd floor to check Mommy in. It was super quick and they took us directly to the back. The advantage to being a smaller facility. Here we meet John. The most friendliest and funny RN/Med Tech. He made mom feel comfortable because this is a new facility. Older generation don't like change. John was cool. Down to earth. John turned us over to Tedora and she became our nurse for the duration of the day. Tedora is calm, caring and patient. Overall, we had a very smooth therapy session. read more

I really don't have a positive impression of Dr. Jessica. My perception is that she doesn't seem genuinely invested in her patients' well-being. It's frustrating because I frequently find that her office doesn't respond to phone calls in a reasonable timeframe. In one instance, they referred my mother to a different provider that, in my opinion, wasn't necessary for her situation. I also observe that she seems to rush during consultations. read more

Literally, leave yourself dying on the side of the road before you come to this hospital. You will definitely be waiting many many hours to be seen by someone that is less than competent. Here you will find healthcare professionals that do not listen to you, even though you know your own body. You will find them forcing treatment options on you or making you sign AMA paperwork. I drive an additional 25min to get to this location not only because of safety at entrance but because I feel care from when I express my hurt to triage to the room every single one shows human care. I appreciate the quality of and expertise I get everytime and I'll forever choose them. Yes! I'll even wait knowing that once they get to me they will make every effort to find out what's wrong with me. This is the best experience I've had at an ER. Granted I went at 7am on a Sunday morning so they were not busy, but we received excellent care! My 2 year old had a reaction to antibiotics and came down with a pretty severe case of hives. We were greeted immediately upon arriving at the ER. Triaged and take back within 5 minutes. The RN was incredible with my sweet girl and took extra patience when dealing with her anxiety about being weighed and triaged. The physician was also amazing and asked extra questions to be sure he had the right diagnosis. Upon leaving the RN brought out a teddy bear for my girl. She immediately hugged it and has been holding it all morning since. I'm so grateful to have an ER so close to home that I feel gives extra care and customer service. read more

Front desk was rude, wait was extremely long, when I and several others asked how much longer the wait would be (This was after three hours of waiting), we were all treated rudely. Also, the nurse seemed inexperienced, didn't listen when I tried to describe my chronic health issue, kept saying it wasn't their fault. I left and got no care. read more

I took my daughter into the emergency room because she was depressed and feeling suicidal. I wanted her to be evaluated by a psychiatrist and they said they could provide the service they ended up taking her blood pressure, weighing her and doing a urine test. They then sent us to a room and said to wait for a doctor. We waited there for three hours only to be informed that it may be an eight hour wait because they were backed up. That was fine so I said we are going somewhere else. a month later I get a bill for $1400. Having said that they did absolutely NOTHING for my daughter!!! Took her temperature, weighed her and did a urine test. And that cost $1400. What a GRIFT! I ended up taking her regular doctor and she has on medication and doing fine. Cost $350. read more

My husband has had a sore throat for awhile - but he hasn't really been "sick", if that makes sense. We didn't think his health insurance was current as he just changed jobs, so the ER was our only option. We went to this facility thinking it would be less overwhelmed than the larger ERs attached to hospitals. At the time we went, mid-afternoon, it wasn't. We got right in. Security will do a Covid screen when you enter, but they weren't there. We went straight to check in and Johnnie was fabulous! So friendly and kind. When security came back, they screened me as the visitor and gave me a sticker. She also told me that they may not let me in the back when he went. I waited with him in the waiting room until triage called him - a few minutes. She wasn't as friendly as the other people we had already encountered, but triaged him with me in the room (without looking in his throat) before sending us both back into the waiting room and telling me to go to my car. I then spoke to my husband to be sure he had his phone so he could help me stay informed and she said "NOW!". I promptly listened, but thought it was strange that I could wait in the waiting room with him prior to triage, but now after???? I get they wouldn't let me in the treatment room. After about an hour, my husband called and said they suspected cancer and he told me to come in. I was buzzed in promptly but quickly realized that he was in a locked room, just off the waiting room that was closed on the other side by a sliding glass door - so it made no sense that I was told to wait in the car at all, but whatever. The care he received was great. Adam, our discharge nurse, was so kind and caring when cancer was confirmed. We didn't see much of a doctor and only one other nurse checked on him while we waited. I used his mychart to find out what was happening while we waited. When we exited the treatment room, the ER was FILLED with all sorts of people that were clearly sick. They were wrapped in blankets and laying everywhere. One person had what was an injury, everyone else was SICK. We had to wait in that space to check out and then paid our bill. Fast forward a few days and now he is covid positive. He had been vaccinated. I'm dismayed that testing is not part of the triage process as a standard for every patient and visitor - IF he was covid positive before, we'll never know, but if he wasn't, I certain he got covid waiting to check out and walking through the waiting room. I'm negative, by the way. Still. Clearly vaccinations worked for me, but he has cancer - I'm sure his body is fighting so hard to keep cancer from spreading, it can't keep up with covid when he's walking through a room potentially filled with covid patients and since its not part of the triage process, one will never know. This is a great facility during normal times, I suppose - but we all need to do better during covid. read more

Terrible experience. No explanations ran a bunch of unnecessary tests on my son who has some minor stomach pain, there just over 2 hours, billed my insurance about $4,000 (which they paid) and then proceeded to bill me the same amount as I have high deductible insurance, essentially double billing for services we did not want and did not press for without any explanation for the excessive testing and before providing results for an initial urine test, all which came back negative. Very unethical and unprofessional. I will never return and I suggest you avoid this place! read more

I tried to go there this evening because I'm having some major anxiety issues. The check in people and triage nurse and the nurse assisting the triage nurse were amazing. However the nurse who was taking people back needs to find a new line of work. Sue was calling a gentleman back before me and yelled at him to hurry up when he was asked to stop and sign a form at tie check in desk first. She called me back and rushed me to a room and had a horrible attitude. I sat in the room for a few minutes before I came close to having a panic attack and asked to step outside for a minute to get some fresh air. She was very rude and told me to get back in the room and that if I stepped out I'd have to start all over again. I should have gotten her name so she could be reported. read more

If you ever have an emergency in the High Point area, I would definitely recommend this hospital. No, there are no rooms for admission, but they get you taken care of quickly and with care. I have a relative that needs emergency services often, and I have yet to have a terrible experience with this location. We also frequent the Lebauer clinic in the same building, and accessing the doctors' offices is convenient also. read more

It's a little strange to review an emergency room experience, but this one was so exceptional I wanted to recognize it. I didn't know this place existed. Our primary care doctor recommended a family member go to the er so some tests could be done and read quickly. I told her my experiences in the er were so bad, we might be better off just waiting. That's when the nurse recommended the Moses cone med center off hwy 68 in high point. I parked about 10 feet from the er entrance in a clean, safe environment. The check in person was friendly and fast. We waited about 2 minutes to be brought back. The nurses were wonderful, the doctors caring and compassionate, and the room clean. They took care of the patient and me. The down side is that if you have to be admitted, as we did, you have to be transported to a full-service hospital. I am very glad to know about this facility. read more

Moses Cone at High Point was a good hospital and we received good emergency care. The doctor were professional and helpful in stabilizing the patient. Since they didn't have a pediatric specialist available, they asked us to follow up at Moses Cone in Greensboro which we did. read more

We have visited this ER 3 times for family emergency needs and have been super impressed with the level of care received each time. The doctors have always shown great bedside manner and super discernment to diagnose and treat, and there have always been very reasonable wait times (tonight we were seen right away). The facility is nice and the rest of the staff very friendly and professional. read more

As emergency rooms go, this is one of the nicest in the area. Only 12 rooms, but we've never had a long wait on the few occasions we've had to come here. Caring, professional staff and clean facility. Fairly quickly turn-around time as these things go. read more

Nurse that was doing triage on 5/22/2018 with blond hair should be fired for the way that she treats patients. I came in around 8:30-8:45 pm and my name was called for triage. I was in triage when I stated what I was therefore and I explain that I been throwing up for three months and she said to me why did you not call you doctor. I explain that I work seven days a week. And who is she to tell me what to do. Then she asked me for a urine specimen and I explained that I can not do one right now and she informed me that they would do a catheter and I would have no choice. When did a hospital employee tell you what they are doing and if you do not like it to bad. If she can not handle her work load she should not be working there. Again it was the Med Center of High Point on 68, if you need to go to a hospital I suggest you avoid the emergency room when she is working. read more

Went in cause I was referred there. They did nothing, my paperwork states I seen a doctor. And never once did a doctor come in. My husband feared I might have blood clot. 3 hrs after getting in the back, a PA comes in and says looks like a bruise. (Mind u the other place that made me go here wanted me to get a ultrasound done) They never took blood (even after I told them of a high chance of having an infection) they did nothing at all. When I was getting aggravated, I put my ear to the door and i over heard 2 nurses talking about the girl in the room i was in. They were saying i punched myself so i am now just looking for pain pills to pop. Number 1 i wasnt in alot of pain to even get them or request them. I dont like pain meds so i refuse to take them anyways. I just wanted to see if i had an infection n a blood clot. Well after hearing them also say i need to lose weight. I weighed 136.9 yesterday. If I lose more weight I would float away. The staff in the front and in triage were awesome and very professional. But the back they were asshats. Now 24hrs later and I can barely move. I have shooting pain on my right side from my head all the way down to mid shin. (Wasnt this bad yesterday) I better not see a bill cause i will fight it. I have never felt like such a low life in a medical facility. I left in tears cause I wasting 6 hrs. And now today I am in so much pain I cant do anything. I am just laying here watching my kids so they dont get hurt. Hopefully the person who runs this facility sees this cause u need to recheck your back staff as they are unprofessional and sorry excuses of humans. read more

I personally will not give any stars for service to this facility, this is the 2nd time I have been here and treated poorly and /or misdiagnosed. Last year I went in for an ankle injury, I was told there was nothing wrong, just merely sprained. The nurse who put the brace on me jerked my foot in such a fashion that it popped and now a year and a half later after having surgery on a merely sprained ankle which actually turned out to be torn ligaments and tendons.... I have been having sharp chest pain , husband brought me to closet facility, after a 3.5 hour wait in the lobby , one ekg an xray and a urine specimen and a cbc , I was put in a room and told to put on the gown. as soon as I was changed Dr Curatolo came in completely disregarded everything my husband tried to fill him in on, when my husband was trying to explain that my O2 had dropped to 79, the dr very sarcastically asked " And how do you know that ?" I was told atypical chest pain and to take Motrin..... and that my primary needs to run more tests and advise a heart monitor.... This place was horrible......my husband fell in the shower and needed stitches in his head.....we waited 6 hours total because we learned from the doctor herself that she actually did not read his chart correctly. The nurse suggested my husband have an X-ray of his hand in addition to treating his injured head because his hand was black and blue and she thought it may be broken......after 4 hours of waiting when we finally got in a room we waited an additional 45 minutes.....when the doctor finally came in she said "so I hear you hurt your hand", in which we replied yes but that's not why we're here.....at that time to doctor noticed the large gash in his head and said oh wow you have a large cut too.......we were stunned.....she left us out there in the waiting room where people came and went before us, of which most to all did not have a true emergency, because she thought he was there for a bruise on his hand.......the nurses admitted he should have been seen a lot earlier and apologized......I did express my feelings of disappointment and I was very upset......after hearing this the doctor hurried up and stitched his head and she completely forgot to give him a tetanus shot.......we were the last ones to leave that ER at around 5:00a.m. We got there at 9:45p.m. We will never go back to this place.....I was shocked that they made us wait that long because a doctor with many many years of schooling simply couldn't or more likely didn't read a chart thoroughly........DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.......everywhere you look in that place has some sort of sign about administering pain medication and how they will not do so, or won't refill, or any and everything you can think of regarding pain medication.....it's as if they think everyone that comes in there is seeking pain medication and aren't in any real pain or have a real emergency.......it's sad that people who are legitimately in pain and need some relief will not get it there because they have already formed an opinion of you based on the fact that you are there and based on a 3 minute conversation with a nurse that checks you in........that's how we felt......of course they did not give my husband anything for his pain with the exception of a Tylenol, but he did not ask for anything stronger.....we were there for a true emergency, he needed and received stitches......I do feel like their opinions of per scribing pain medication is an additional reason they left him sitting in the waiting room for 4 hours.......they thought he was there for a bruised hand and wanted pain medication......once she saw the bruised hand she didn't continue to read his chart to find out more......more as in he needed stitches, 8 to be exact, for a huge gash in his head.......VERY unprofessional and incompetent.......GO ELSEWHERE.......as you are going to be treated like a junkie and not a patient and chances are you are believed to have no reason to be there....... read more
