This is an amazing park and nature preserve! Hiking trails, playgrounds, covered pavilions, where you can have a picnic, and periodic benches if you get tired while on a hike. Easy to read signage so you don't get lost and the scenery is spectacular with wildflowers, lakes, and towering trees. So peaceful. read more

Such a great day hiking in this beautiful preserve! The trails are very well marked and there are kiosks with trail maps scattered throughout the preserve. My only suggestion would be to add a "you are here" sticker on the map for people who tend to get lost like me. I hated to see so much hurricane damage but you can tell they are working hard to get the trails back in order. Bathrooms accessible if you hike over to Conestee Park or park there. read more

We had time to kill this afternoon so we visited Conestee Nature Preserve. It's very well maintained, there are pavilions and playgrounds. Plenty of trails and paths to walk around inside the preserve. FYI there are big recycling bins there, Greenville recycling has a few in the parking lot. Much closer to home! read more

Adjoining a more conventional park with playgrounds and such, this area offers trails through a wooded area with streams and lakes, offering many sights and sounds. It is free to enter, though a small donation is gently suggested. I had time only to head to one lake, passing an observation platform and occasional wildlife along the way. Trails varied in passability, but there are plenty of places that are easy to bring children or those with modest mobility to get a good dose of greenery, and it's not far from the center of the city at all. read more

At first, I didn't think I was going to like these trails because the parking area was rough (AllTrails sent us to the wrong lot) and there were so many side trails that it was confusing. But, once I pulled up the AllTrails map and we got further in, I quickly changed my mind. I enjoyed meandering through the park, and it was especially fun looking out for beavers and their tree markings. read more

I have come to the park for over two years every morning to walk it. I find it to be a super safe trail super friendly staff and they have a bunch of events. The variety of terrain makes it a good walking experience and I love how it can be, but you never do the same thing every single day, I love the boardwalk. The only thing I will say is sometimes to construction on the boardwalk takes a little bit longer so it's hard to complete the loop but it's definitely well signed and there is an app that you can follow her updates in progress on the construction of the area I have always felt safe walking alone as a single female definitely one of my favorite places to go in Greenville, just get in touch with nature read more

Seriously, you do not know that this place is here unless you find a review or talk with someone who has been here. We first experienced it several years ago and it was in much better shape then. This time we came across so many broken and patched areas of the boardwalks and bridges, and you can tell the patched areas have been sitting and in need of repair for some time. A tree also fell in one area and took out one of the bridges and it looks as though they are attempting to raise money to replace this. (I thought this was a city or county-funded park, but maybe not). For what it's worth, it is a peaceful place for a hike, but be sure to bring bug spray. There is parking on each end with maps at the start, but just trail markers along the way. Even with a good sense of direction, it is easy to get turned around. It looks as if future development around the park is on the way, so this is something to keep an eye out for. read more

Peaceful, relaxing and great nature hideaway. It is great to escape somewhere with nature sounds and beauty so close to the Cory. Free parking and entrance (donations accepted though). Park is well maintained and everyone I met on the paths was friendly. A few dogs to enjoy and even saw 2 deer. Highly recommend this state park. read more

This is a way cool nature area, and it's so easy to get there! This park is pretty compact for a hiking area, but the water features, the trails, the wildlife, the boardwalks, the flowers.... it's just killer mannnnnn! Now you have no excuse for getting out there with nature! This place is just beautiful. There are at least 2 different parking areas, there may be more. Get on line and check the maps of this park. The park website is very helpful, it's listed at the top. You'll find lots of hikers, walkers, people on bikes, joggers, photograpy nuts like me, it's very cool. Take a look at my photos! I can't believe it took me 7 years to find this spot, a scant 20 minutes from where I live. I am a fledgling "birder"; this place is fantastic for a ride variety of songbirds, raptors and waterfowl. Nesting blue herons and so on. The trails are well maintained through a mixture of wetlands and forest areas. Many boardwalks allow traversing the wetlands and getting up close to waterfowl and other critters. It is very serene and relaxing when not crowded and you're able to avoid elementary school field trips :) After 12 hours hiking through half as many visits, I estimate I have only seen 60-70% of the park. A "local gem." PS: why not 5 stars? Visitors leave more trash than staff should pick up. I hope a few litterbugs read this... read more

It was a great day outside and I was looking for somewhere close to hike. This park is very close, and this we headed out. This place is pretty awesome. The good: - It's easy to find and easy to navigate the trails. - The trails are well marked and well kept. They have a nice paved trail for bike riders, and some dirty trails for more experienced hikers. - The park is well maintained. It's certainly not the largest place to hike, but it's free to get into and has some great trails. I know I'll be coming here pretty often. read more

I absolutely adore this park. I've gone two days in a row so far and I fully intend on going multiple times a week. The setting is absolutely beautiful with multiple creeks and streams. The nature is lush and vibrant filled with lilly pads, beautiful flowers, whimsical trees and lots of wildlife. I've seen multiple birds so far, turtles and even spotted a beaver dam on my way back to the car. You can choose to stick to a paved trail if you're a beginner or a more advanced dirt trail if you're feeling frisky! They also have multiple benches and observation points along the trails in case you get tired. It is simply gorgeous and I can't wait for my future adventures here. read more

I went to Conestee for a walk one day when I wanted an alternative to Reedy Falls and didn't have time for Paris Mountain. I was pleasantly surprised. The trails are nice, well-maintained, and one makes you feel like you're in the bayou. There are several options to try and lots of good photo opps. A good place to escape! Nice versatile addition to the park offerings here. There is a dog park on the premises in a separate location away from the trails and a play area for kids. read more

This is one of the best parks in Upstate South Carolina! There's a playground for big kids and toddlers, there's a large dog park, large gazebo type shelter with plenty of seating, clean restrooms, and great paved paths for little kids bikes. The trails are gorgeous with signage marking the trails. The bridges and boardwalks are really fun. The views are amazing and there is so much wildlife. There are tons of birds. We are always seeing new animals every time we visit. We've been a lot and haven't been on all of the trails yet. This is a unique place for being so close to the city. read more

Beautiful place to get lost in the woods but be SO close to the city. There were a couple of hiking trails. The is a playground with a pavilion and picnic tables and public restroom which were clean. There is a designated dog park which is fenced. There is a paved loop for kids to ride scooters and small bikes with a large grass area for running. This place is a gem. read more

This is definitely one of the best nature parks in Greenville. It's so serene, and full of trails. I started out running there once a week on the paved trails (Swamp Rabbit Trail runs through ur park); but now I bike every Sunday on the mountain bike trails (riding from Fork Shoals to Mauldin/Conestee). There are lots of trails to hike too, and wonderful natural scenery. The park is well-kept. read more

Lovely park, we even saw 2 deer on our walk and found a geocache. I am giving it a low rating because there was NO trail map at the entrance, also I kept hearing obvious gunshots, the entire time I was there, turns out the park is right next to a shooting range. Who wants to listen to gunshots while trying to enjoy a walk?? read more

Beautiful, easy trails to walk. It's a wonderful place to unwind, get some exercise, or get your birding on. Countless species of migratory birds stop on through the park year round. It's hard to believe that we have such a gorgeous place to go right on the edge of downtown. read more

I have a Siberian Husky and she loves the dog park. The best time to go to the dog park is at 5pm (if your dog is social) that's the time to go! After the dog park, I take her to the trail and its beautiful! I like it because its close to where i live and since i can't take my dog to the mountains everyday this park does the job! read more

Woo-hoo!!! Free state park. We went there Sunday afternoon to check the park out. The trail is good and easy to walk but it is surrounded with marshlands all the way so if you are expecting lakes, waterfall them isn't the right park for you but if you want to walk or have good run without spending penny then this is it. Not sure if I will go there again. read more

This park was very nice. We were there for family day with Upstate karate but the trails had no maps. Any park I've ever been to with trails had a map. We actually got lost and ended up coming out on the wrong side and had to call family to come get us. One of the woman in my group got sick so we could not walk back. We were lost over an hour. Maybe it's a good idea to provide maps for out of town guest at your entrance locations. read more

Love going to this park! They have easy trails to walk on and thou it is close to the City of Mauldin, you do not hear all the traffic. It was very busy when I went with 3 young teenagers but there are enough trails and space on the trails to accommodate for everyone. I also enjoy that it has seemed to be a safe place to walk and they keep up with the maintenance of the trails. read more
