    Carmellas in the park

Such a great little spot to listen to a little river rapids while having a picnic or conversation by the rocks. It's nice to have some nature and green space in the middle of a bustling cityscape to provide a little serenity. The geese are prevalent but keep to themselves in the middle rooster lazily on the rocks. So nice that Carmella's is right there so you can pop in and bring your cake to the waterside to enjoy. They have a neat art walk bridge that goes over the river so you can safely get to the other side as well as a nice outdoor ampitheater.

Falls Park is in Greenville's West End and is a must see when in Downtown Greenville. The park is 32 acres. It is a great place to explore nature and enjoy the amazing views of the waterfall. The park is free to visit and I was told it even has free parking. A picnic area is in the park and there are many restaurants nearby and at least one in the park itself. The park was designed with accessibility in mind from the ramps to the elevator to accessible trails. Greenville did a great job at revitalizing the area but do remember that the water is contaminated with bacteria from the mills that were here and sustained Greenville's economy so they do not want you to go in the water.

Gorgeous! So worth the visit. If I lived near here I would go all the time. It's well maintained and so much to see and places to sit and enjoy nature. I love the bench swings. The suspension bridge is very cool. We went here then walked around downtown. I can't recommend a visit enough.

Good golly, Miss Molly, Greenville has outdone herself! Millions of dollars have poured into the renovation of the Reedy River Falls area in the southern section of downtown. And it's beautiful. Clean, modern, avant garde design merges cascading water, pedestrian bridges, and well-kept, colorful gardens into a kaleidoscope enveloped by hotels, bistros, art studios, and lofts. Mix in a Carolina blue sky and high-70 degree weather and the day becomes magical. Nice. Within reach are hundreds of parking spaces, some free, along with a clean and safe downtown. Looking for a weekend getaway or just an afternoon of leisure and wine? Has the needle pegged at "must-do" on my "Give 'em a whirl" meter. Unwind here.

Raindrops and cold weather are the perfect walks for a romance. There is something about hearing soothing water. It's an ideal park to enjoy nature and walk dogs. There are restaurants and shops along the path. The walk is short but memorable.

Beautiful outdoor space in the middle of the city. There are lots of little paths, benches and swings to sit on, sun and shade, and waterfalls. It's a must see if you're ever in Greenville!

We visited Falls Park on the Reedy for the first time during our trip to Greenville, and it was such a charming and beautiful spot.

There are several…read morebeautiful spots to sit and relax, especially near the Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville, and the bridge is a wonderful place to stroll while enjoying the soothing sound of the river and waterfall. What makes it even more meaningful is the history behind it. Beginning in the late 1700s, water-powered industries clustered along the Reedy River, including trading posts, grist and corn mills, a sawmill, an ironworks, the Gower, Cox and Markley Coach Factory, a paper-making factory, and an armory. A century later, textile and apparel mills were established along its banks. Unfortunately, the mills discharged waste and excess dyes into the river, and the Reedy began to suffer from the spoils of progress. By the mid-20th century, downtown Greenville's stretch of the river was so severely polluted by upstream textile mills that the once pristine and popular falls became desolate and unsafe. Seeing how beautiful and vibrant the area is today makes you truly appreciate the restoration and revitalization efforts. It's peaceful, scenic, and rich with history -- definitely a must-visit when you're in Greenville. Cheers!
