This driving school is simply the best! Don't hesitate to take classes here. You won't regret it. My instructor, Mr. Baktor, was extremely patient with me and constantly gave me feedbacks, which I really appreciated. I started taking classes with zero prior experience, and, now, I am a confident driver, who just passed her road test in first try. At first, I was a little nervous to pay for the courses (and whether I should attending this driving school) because I have heard of many scamming stories of instructors who don't teach you enough to pass the test, but I soon realized this driving school is not one of them. In every session, Mr. Baktor made sure I had practiced parallel parking, 3-point turn, and various turns in different cross-sections, which are all crucial for you to pass your driving tes. He made sure to explain every one of these components conceptually and practically. His teaching style is amazing. He is a very knowledgeably and an experienced instructor. He covers everything you need to know to excel in your road test. One way I am 100% sure he covers everything was when I sat down to take the road test. When a dmv official went over the rubric of the things she would be testing me that day, I knew every single component and I was confident I would do well. The best driving school in NYC. I don't even know where to start, but for those of you who are still skeptical, I'm going to give you my honest review. This school has provided me with the best tool to be a good and independent driver. Note that I never drove before registering to that driving school; but after completing 25 Lessons with the instructor (I bought the 20 hours lesson package at first + an additional 10 hours package) I feel well equipped to take the wheel on my own. The instructor is patient and willing to go above and beyond to teach you and boost your confidence level. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you don't understand something. The instructor makes you feel comfortable. Also, make sure you're punctual as the instructor is always on time to start the lesson. I passed the driving test on my 3rd attempt, but I didn't expect it to pass it on my 1st try knowing where I was coming from. I'm so good at the 3 point turn & parallel parking that I'm laughing at myself for this huge improvement lol. On top of that, when it comes down to the price, I think it's one of the affordable driving schools within the 5 boroughs. Before picking this school I searched online and most of the schools were overpriced. Before moving out of NYC, I urgently needed to get my drivers license (within 2 weeks). As an inexperienced driver, Morris worked with me every other day to get my driving to the level it needed to be in order to pass my driving test. He was extremely honest, patient, respectful, and professional. Not to mention, he has an incredibly interesting academic and career background himself, so was a pleasure to converse with while driving! Once Morris even insisted on dropping me near a close train station because I had heavy bags to carry home that day from our lesson. At a time when driving schools and test slots are booked up due to COVID, Morris went above and beyond to get a fast tracked test slot for me so I could take my driving exam before moving out of the city. This involved staying up late and refreshing the page constantly, all of which he did. He's organized and a great communicator over text message, making it easy to coordinate scheduling. I'm generally skeptical of places with 5-star reviews (they seem too good to be true), but I can honestly say that my experience at Confident Driver Driving School exceeded my expectations, and was a highly positive experience. I was recommended by a family friend and had a great experience with this driving school. I would highly recommend it to anyone learning how to drive. Their scheduling for lesson is convenient with their website and very fast road test scheduling usually within a week which is way faster than other schools. Jose was extremely helpful guiding me and encouraging me along the way. Their other instructor Otto is bit more strict but he truly wants you to succeed after all safe driving comes first and foremost. He's very knowledge and if you are willing to ask he will teach you a a lot tricks that will be useful for the road test. I eventually passed on my third road test so word of advice , remember to never stop trying even if the road test examiners fail you. I myself completely flunked my first road test for instance getting a automatic failure. They are strict for a good reason and every attempt you learn something new even if you fail just like I did. I would also like to give a shout out to Morris for being helpful and supportive throughout the process and making scheduling and communication smooth. I especially appreciate that he cares about his students and considers them as worthy individuals. Meaning that you not only get prepared for the road test in a timely and cost-effective manner, but you also enjoy the company! I passed my road test in Red hook Brooklyn After having failed before. I was always nervous, anxious and frustrated partly because I lacked the confidence behind the wheel. This school with its incredibly knowledgeable Instructors were extra helpful and taught me things my other school hadn't. Their model of teaching that includes one last lesson right before a road test was even extra helpful for me. It instilled some extra confidence in me and acted as a refresher course that helped me ace my road test. I'd highly recommend these guys. After one class with my instructor I passed my driving test, because it proved to me that listening is better than talking, especially at my age, but in the end it's about how well an instructor can show you what to do, how to do it and still have patience with each individual. This was the best experience I've had in a while because of passing this test with only one lesson and one test afterwards. I took lessons over the course of ~2 months with Otto, Vlad, and Jose. Classes were very reasonably priced. I found all my instructors to be incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient. Otto was very perceptive and kindly pointed out things I needed to work on while sharing very specific tips and tricks. Vlad helped drill in good habits and we practiced performing maneuvers until I could consistently met the test requirements. As with Otto, Vlad was able to point out things that I myself didn't notice I was doing. Jose was always very thorough with his explanations and helped me understand the car inside out. Driving with him was always an insightful experience. Each of them were always open to my questions and provided great live feedback. Upon arriving I had made a mistake scheduling my 10 hour lesson and was given a full refund, however we got it sorted out and I continued with my practicing. My instructor Morris was very friendly and incredibly helpful especially for someone like me who never really drove before at 22 years old. He politely but persistently pointed out my mistakes and emphasizes the points that not only make you a good driver, but most importantly pass the test and receive your license. On my first try I received a near perfect (should've been perfect) score and am already very good at parallel parking. I signed up to take classes at Confident Driver School after seeing the high ratings. I had failed twice before four years prior. Morris and Omari were strict but also flexible and honest with what I needed to work on. I appreciated the hour and a half lessons the most and they taught me that I didn't have to be completely comfortable driving before taking the test. Sont be afraid to schedule the test. It makes you take what you need to work on more seriously. I took the test after a month of practice. Two days before the test I had a lesson with Omari which fine tuned my skills and then I had a lesson with Morris the day of the test around the gest area which helped me get acclimated to the environment. I recommend this school. I had driving experience in a different country and just wanted a refresher after not having driven in a few years, as well as pointers about the exam in NYC. I got the 5 hours + exam package, drove with Jose and Otto who are both wonderfully knowledgeable and patient. I took the exam in Red Hook a week after scheduling my first class, which was an incredibly quick turnaround and Morris, the owner, has been communicative throughout the process. The first time I failed due to my own oversight, but I managed to reschedule another exam just 10 days after at Red Hook and passed without losing any points after another pre-exam refresher drive. Before my first class I was nervous about having a bad instructor. That was my dealbreaker. Fortunately I got lucky and ended up having a great instructor, Morris. He is patient, encouraging and his teaching style is very thorough. Driving in Manhattan is not always easy but with Morris's instructions and explanations I felt much more confident. I think anyone who decides to pick this school, should be able to pass the test on the first try. There are 2 locations where one can take driving classes - west side and east side. If you buy a package which I did (classes, car rental, road test), the instructor picks you up and takes you to the road test site and then brings you back which is convenient. This driving school was very professional from start to finnish everything from booking to payment was quick and easy. Even thought I had passed my road test, the instructor Mr. Morris in a very calm and patient manor helped me to touch up on skills that I learned from other schools along with things I didnt or even driving in different settings such as Mannhattan driving compared to driving in Brooklyn or Queens which is what im used to. The lessons were very well priced and affordable and easy to book from what is offered at any other driving school and every minute was worth every dollar in my opinion. Fantastic experience with the Confident Driver school. In less than a month, I got my learner permit, pre licensing course, driving lessons, a successful road test, and a shiny driving licence in my pocket! I had lessons with Omari and Jose, they are both so skilled, kind, and patient. And most importantly, they make you feel very confident in your driving skills. Everything is very well handled and efficient, from the lessons booking, to the reminders and SMS from the instructors. Maurizio was great at keeping everything on track.
