What a rip off this place Is! It cost us about $46 for 2 adults and 1 child for a short train ride and literally a very short walk on a path that has nothing to do besides the crooked house. It looks very fun and cool from the outside but once inside there is nothing to do but the house. The people running it look straight out of prison and were very rude (the only cool guy is the one driving the train) My advice is to look from the outside but don't bother with paying the fortune it costs to get in, not worth the $! Stopped by on our way back home from redwoods camping. It wasn't a long stop maybe an hour at most but it was a fun and friendly hour. Didn't get a chance to tour the attractions but roamed the grounds and gift shop. The folks there were warm and friendly and the gal behind the register took the time to welcome us and give us some history about the grounds and also the chipalope! The chipmunk and antelope hybrid! Really cool times when you stop and explore the surroundings on your trip wherever it may be. Get to know the people, history, myths and tales of the area. I have say, it was amusing driving up to the location and excited going in. Gift shop was neat until my niece which we took for her to site see all the way Utah, Washington Oregon and down California coast and to find out the guy was rude, very rude. Before my niece could pick up anything to buy. The guy at counter said," Don't pick any items if you not gonna buy it!" We all looked at each other and walked out the door. It was in a mean way so we just didn't want to buy any gift items from them and left to next Gift shop. The Legend of Bigfoot Cravings next took all of my business. Like a blast from the past, an old 50's sci fi B movie, Confusion Hill is a funky side show sort of fun old haunt across the street from the Redwood River Resort on Hiway 101 and has a crooked old house on a hill where due to a distrubed magnetic vector, balls and water run up hill, you lose your sense of level perception and some even get vertigo from the flux field effect, but it's all fun, go see yourself hanging crooked instead of straight down from the ceiling, walking up walls, watching bottles roll backwards up hill, being taller than your short friend and tryng to get our of the gravity chair, so for $ 5 for 20 minues it's all unique fun, very funky like the old Playland in SF and a great wayward trip to the days of wonder, a timeless magical place since 1949! Try and feed the Chipaloes or other critters with the park food inside the house and you will see they will not go in there, as ithey also feel the strange affects. It took us 4.5 hrs from San Jose but it was worth it. Kids came to chase down Bill Cipher from the show gravity falls. They had a blast! So the place is a little old and looks it. The house (main attraction) is getting old and is cover in graffiti thanks to the dirt bags. It only costs $5 buck for 13 and up and $3 for children so it doesn't break the bank. We decided to ride the train which costs about $8 a person. The seats aren't very comfortable. The ride is about 30 minutes long due to the stopping and talking by the conductor. I did not find it entertaining but some might. I would not go again. read more

Confusion Hill is really confusing. We stopped by there after we visited the Chandelier Drive Thru Tree (a must see if you are in Leggett, CA). There's a Shoe House outside in the parking lot. It was cute and small. We then walked inside the Gift Shop to pay $5 per person to enter the Gravity House. Once we paid, we walked outside and turned left to the yellow gate that led to the Gravity House. The minute that we stepped into the Gravity House, we all felt dizzy and nauseated. It was a weird feeling. We took pictures really fast and walked through the house. Once we stepped outside of the house, we felt back to normal. I recommend researching before visiting the place for pictures on where to stand in the Gravity House to take perfect pictures. This was a quick stop for us. It was something that we did once to check off our bucket list. read more

Passed this on other occasions and decided to take the kids. We were "confused" as to what we would see. The place is neat, lots of little things to do and the playground lets the kids get that energy out on those long roads. The shack is a total trip! It's really neat! The train was not running this particular day, a total bummer. But the gravity House was open for business. It's about $5-$7 pp and kids under a certain age I believe are free (Gravity House). There are lots of neat souvenirs as well and not grossly overpriced. My fave is the stool in a little bottle "stool sample..." stuff like that is found in the gift shop. There is a snack shack with food and drinks. The staff are very friendly. There was a woman there very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We talked for a bit about the local things to do. Very sweet she was. It was overall a cool spot to check out and stretch your legs a bit. Definitely a cool spot! Glad we finally stopped by. read more

The gift/junque shop is typical of the 1950's era ones that are up and down this highway, and the miniature train (that looks like it might be fun) was closed the time we were here. But the "World Famous" Gravity House was worth the ten minutes or so it takes to go through, though indeed overpriced. The water and golf balls running uphill and the weird way you look taller/shorter depending on where you stand is especially amusing for the young 'uns. There is also a small set of swings and playground for the kids to amuse themselves among the tall trees. read more

I had never stopped here even though I've driven by countless times. We dropped in on this last trip and I thoroughly enjoyed it. All we did was hang out it in there cute slightly run down playground and enjoy the shade and and kitschy surroundings. We haven't tried the train yet but plan on it next time. I went here for the Bill Cipher statue, taking a 9+ hour detour from my initial destination. 10/10 would go again. The young lady working there was SUPER nice and really helpful in showing me where the Gravity Falls things were. It was silly and fun but since I was alone I couldn't test out all of their 'anomalies'. Still really enjoyed it though. Sadly I came a week or so after the train was done running for the season so I hope to go again when its running! read more

If you want to see what good old Americana road entertainment was like, back in the hey day of road travel, visit Confusion Hill. It's a fun place to take kids and learn about gravitiy! The gift shop is typical but has nice things available. The people are nice and friendly. There are a couple cool things for kids to do. Overall the train ride was dull and without the old growth that once was on those hills, there is pretty much just old logging equipment and kind of makes you sad that the old ownership cut the trees down. The food and gift shop are great. The website states the train ride is 8.50 but they charged 10. It isnt worth the price. It is small and uncomfortable. We went camping across the street for a few days and wanted to check out the place. We had already visited the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz, so we passed on the Gravity House, but enjoyed the old fashion history throughout the place. We absolutely LOVED the train ride. the engineer was humorous, laid back, and knowledgeable. He was a one man show and worth every penny. As a family we learned a great deal about the redwoods and the effects of "change." To support their business we opted to grab a bite to eat on our way out. What a surprise! Their burgers and fries were GREAT! ...and very reasonably priced. We had one of the best camping vacations ever this week. read more

My husband, 3 kids (15b, 13g, 8b) and yellow lab and I stopped at Confusion Hill on our way back from a lovely roadtrip to Avenue of the Giants and Del Norte Area/Southern Oregon. Confusion Hill (simliar to Santa Cruz's Mystery Spot) is a kooky funky must stop. We were there many years ago for the silly train ride (you go all the way up the hill and learn much about the area, then just ride backward down.. surprising) and the cool weird crooked shack. 1) YES You do seem to feel the weird magnetic pull 2) YES they make it worse by how this crooked shack is built to put you off balnce and feel strange gravity sensations 3) Yes its a a quick thing, kind of cute, kind of fun, great for pics but not a major destination attraction. It is a great break. Get some icecream, let the kids play in the playground after, buy some funky souveniers, and then keep going to where you are going. Worth the stop in my opinion. read more

This place definitely takes the cake for most successful roadside advertising. Simply a TOURIST TRAP. We passed it on our trek up north and decided to check it out on our way back. Cool redwood carvings, statues, and trinkets in the gift shop. Extremely overpriced admission for adults and kids to ride the train and mystery house. We skipped the money trap and got lunch at their food shack: a couple orders of french fries, burger, apple juices and root beer float, all somewhat at the going rate for what tourists would pay. I watched the window girl (who seemed to hate her job), microwave something - must have been the patty for our burger, then call our name when it was ready. My family was in the gift shop for maybe 3 minutes longer and we all went outside to claim our food. I walked to the food window and the girl shoved our tray out her window, then the root beer float and said "it's going to overflow when you stick the straw in, I called you guys a long time ago and now it's just too full. I don't want that mess on MY table." Whoa lady. So in my effort to keep her table clean so she didn't have to strain herself wiping it (because god forbid she clean something) I politely asked "Well, do you have another cup so I can pour the extra out?" She replied, "No, just stick the straw in and slowly drink the top. Cups are 54 cents each and we don't sell them separately." Thanks for the lesson on how to drink a float. I walked away. I should mention she's extremely fortunate I didn't destroy that float all over "her" table. What's the worst that could happen? Something will actually be cleaned? Later that day, my husband started feeling sick and became violently ill - vomiting burger chunks. Simply ridiculous. Poor sanitary conditions, disrespectful, over priced, and the lady who "owns" the tables obviously hates people. Don't give these people your business just take pictures of all the free stuff outside and leave. read more

This place is AWFUL! When I was a kid we went there and it was fun, sort of. I'm grown now and have two kids, one boy 4 and a baby 15 months. We were driving home from SF Airport and decided to stop to let my super bored son out of the car. Thinking this was the same place I had remembered as a kid. It WASN'T! First off we walked in and it was run down and gross. The couple running the place were rude to me right off the bat, rude to the people in front of us ripping people off for complete garbage nick knacks. So we decide to suck it up because we told my 4 year old how fun it would be, so I go to buy a pass to the little house. For all of us it was like 10.00 per adult and 4.00 per child. I know what it's all about and it, and there's literally nothing WEIRD about it, it's built on a hill. Boom there's the surprise! Sorry for a spoiler alert. So anyway I have 5.00 to my name, hot sweaty kids, and the place reaks like cigs! So I say "can I just buy a pass for my son? It will just be him going in the "house" thing. They say that's fine. We pay, and walk through the gate. My husbands holding the baby and we I start walking my son to the entrance of the house thing. The man or owner opens the window and starts screaming at us. I turn around and few red in the face SCREAMING. I go closer and he's yelling that we aren't supposed to walk my son up to the house because we didn't pay 20.00. I said "no I told you my son will be the only one who goes in.., my four year old can't find his way up the steps alone" my son starts crying because the man is legit screaming over something so dumb. Like he could of offered to walk him up, let an adult accompany him up there and made his DAY! But because we didn't pay the for an adult ticket I wasn't allowed to walk him to the entrance. I might of championed my son up there and let it go, but this guy was SO rude to me, my son, and my family I felt like I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. WHItE trash as it comes. Gross. This was a fun stop during our visit to Redwood National and State Parks area. It is a little hokey but still fun. We were disappointed that the train was out of service as that was one of the reasons we chose to stop here. But my husband was able to get some onion rings with some super hot sauce and that made the stop worth-while to him. I lived in that area most of my life, so going to Confusion Hill happened often, it is a really cute place, espeically for families. They have since added a train ride, but the majority of the place has stayed the same. Took my daughter a few months back & was slightly disappointed. The gravity house & surrounding area seemed unkept, dirty & in some places, in need of repair. We purchased a few items in the gift shop, but wanted some live burl. The prices were extremely high..( Over $15 for a cup-sized piece of burl )..we drove on up the coast to Fort Bragg & were able to find nice larger pieces- 3 for $5. So be leary of the gift shop prices! But the people are friendly & the cost of admission to the Gravity House is still very affordable. read more
