Do not entrust them with your valuables but they could possibly handle a sale of your junk…read more A disaster. Shady. My experience with this firm continues to cause distress 7 months after the debacle. Know This! These people are poorly organized and do not leave you feeling anything but angry and cheated. Nearly 3 months prior to sale we set a date. References were called but I believe they were family or friends. I was moving out of state so could not be there to oversee the sale. Two weeks prior to the agreed upon date , I was informed the date was moved forward one week . When I showed email proof, this firm changed back, but didn't reschedule another commitment so my sale was double booked. As a result I was told they wouldn't have enough time to properly prepare. ( and they didn't property prepare, it was total chaos.) It got worse. As promised, they advertised the sale for Friday and Saturday . On Friday morning, in another state, I receive a call from my security service. This firm was not at my home, but the public was. They were walking through my house and had tripped my alarm. J&k said they were at the other sale and "made a mistake" advertising the sale on a day they did not intend to be there, and "made a mistake" leaving my door unlocked. So the poorly prepped sale went on a day after strangers walked through, but J&K "reassured" me "nothing was missing." Know this: J&K will not provide you with a list of items sold, nor how much items were sold for. they will tell you that at the end of the sale they let buyers walk because "they were trying to and dime me." And lastly they will bring in another firm to charge you hundreds of dollars to clean out what didn't sell so that firm can resell it for their own benefit. Im not sure if there was conflict of interest. In summary, my advice, find an estate sales firm that knows estates.

The customer service is non existent if the plant and fish shipment is being unloaded…read more If they aren't busy and you want something they make you walk over and pull a ticket and wait for your number to be called. I was there today and it wasn't busy, but the shipment was being unloaded. I pulled my ticket but no one was calling out numbers. I finally asked a woman for help but she said "I don't work here but I'll let them know". At that point I just left. I've been ignored there for 25 years going back to the old Latham location. One positive experience I had was a few years ago. They had species plant I wanted but there was only a couple left. The salesman informed me that they had some that were yet to be unpacked in the back room. Long story short he was reprimanded for selling plants that weren't yet in the display case (in front of me while I was checking out). That ruined the experience and made me feel I did something wrong. So I guess I never had a positive experience, I just witnessed someone going above and beyond being treated like trash. It's sad to say, but I'm actually happier walking in and not seeing anything I want to buy. The stressful part is seeing something I want and having to jump through hoops to get someone's attention and get service. To sum things up it's not really worth the stress for me and I will go elsewhere from

These fish require different water parameters and have very different temperaments, which creates stress and weakens their immune systems. Stressed fish are far more likely to develop ich (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, or "white spot disease"), and once one fish is infected, the entire tank is at risk. Unfortunately, stores that mix species like this often deny responsibility and may mislead customers to avoid refunds or replacements. For anyone buying fish from any store that displays mixed species, I strongly recommend quarantining and proactively treating for potential bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections before adding them to your main aquarium. This precaution protects both your tank and your fish.

A CREEPY THEIF!!! Anthony Fratello stole $160! When he came to my home on 5/13/26 to estimate…read moresealing some spaces in my ~ 18 ft gutter and putting on a new gutter elbow and guard. He said that the job could be done the next day and because he could use a 22 ft ladder and instead of a truck, it saved me money. I was traveling the next day, so I wrote him a check for $160 and noted in the memo section that it was for gutter repairs to be done on 5/14/26 or as soon thereafter as possible. While at my house, Anthony told me that his mom had recently passed. Offering my condolences lead into a long story and eventual flirting (yuck!) re: him not being sorry that his mom died, that she was his first bully, how he had been a pillhead (drug addict) for a long time and had been clean for 6 years, how he previously did not know how to treat women but (of course) now he understands how to be good to women. I nodded politely, congratulated him on his sobriety and added very short sentences to convey understanding. Then he mentioned that my nail polish was chipped and I told him I had to go get that fixed right then as an excuse to end the conversation. I walked him out and by the time I got in my car, he was texting me! His first message was about me mistakenly giving him the carbon copy (of the check) when I gave him the check. The next 2 messages were about how he felt bad that my nail polish was chipped and that he would be disappointed if I did not fix it! It was weird, so I just redirected the communication to needing a referral to a handyman who could pain a wall in my house, and Anthony went back to calling me ma'am (which is what I wanted.) The next morning before my trip, I called Anthony and asked what time he was coming perform the gutter work. He explained that his guys were using the truck on other jobs that morning and he was unsure if they would get to my job before the rain came. However, he previously told me that the job would be done with a ladder, without the need for a truck. Without pointing out the inconsistency, I questioned him about when the job could be done and he said that if they did not beat the rain that day, he was not sure because it was supposed to rain for the next few days. When I asked him if he had cashed my check, he said that he had given it to his accountant and he did not know if it was cashed. While on the phone, I checked my bank account and he had already cashed the check! I told him that I had only given him the check because I would not be there when the job was done and that he was not supposed to cash it in advance of the service, he got angry. I tried to calm him down and tell him this was business and not personal, and he said that I was the one taking it personally because I had been burned by other guys! (He was referring to me requesting a referral to a handyman because the guy I hired had not returned, however, he sounded as if he was talking about guys I had dated. It was cringe!) He was yelling that he did not need to steal $160, that he did not want the aggravation and he was going to come and return my money and not do the job. When I said that would be great, he immediately changed and said he was bringing the gutter elbow and guard. I replied that I did not feel comfortable doing business with someone who had spoken to me in that manner and he could return my money as he threatened, he hung up the phone and blocked me. I called him from another phone number and he hung up and blocked that number. It has been 2 weeks and he has not returned my $160.00!

What an absolute crook!…read more I called him about a span of gutter that was dipping on one side of my house, causing water to collect there and pour over the side. Should be a fairly simple fix, right? He shows up, examines my house while I'm away, and identifies a problem on a small span of gutter on a different side of my house where the gutter had been working flawlessly. Naturally, he wants $2100 to fix this problem that doesn't exist. And he never saw the problem for which I had originally called him! So I tell him this over the phone and re-orient him to the real problem, and he looks at it and makes me - you guessed it - another $2100 estimate! Thanks, but no thanks.
