Kids learned nothing.we met a few great congregants and most were pleasant, but not a particularly welcoming environment. Talks all the time about super progressive values but demonized my special needs child. Switched shuls and now my kids and whole family are very happy. Kids said about Kol Emeth, the new synagogue, "why didn't we come here years ago??" Pretty says everything.

The shul is beautiful and while there were about 30 or so ppl there, everyone was nice and was a close community. The after service spiritual by rabbi saying the Khidush. I think the Bar Yohai shul is a very nice place for those that are from out of town or the ones that are close by. The sepharadic melody during the tefila took me back to the days of being in Israel. We came here when our kid was ~2.5 and this place is a real sweet gem…read more Teacher Netali and Elaine are so calm and cool our kid loved going there. The following year it was even more relaxed and that environment can calm the kids. The kids go to yoga and music classes certain days of the week and they celebrate so many lovely topics during the week. We'll miss this place.

My family is entering our third year with kids at the APJCC preschool. We attribute so much of our…read moreolder daughter's growth to her years here. The teachers put a great emphasis on helping the kids learn to communicate kindly with each other while also maintaining their personal boundaries. Every day when my daughter walked into her classroom, her teachers made her feel special and wanted there, and she was always happy to go to school. I've been happy with the diversity of the students and teachers at the school as well. While the school does celebrate Shabbat with the kids by making challah each Friday in the classrooms and observes Jewish holidays, there are plenty of families and teachers at the preschool who don't observe these customs at home, and that only adds to the richness of the community.
