I started attending services here when I finally gave up on my old church. What an experience! The…read morepastor, Father Delva is vibrant, enthusiastic and so welcoming to everyone. There is a beautiful sense of fellowship and community that, sadly, is absent in other churches. The Youth Ministry is amazing! At least 20 kids who are active in the Church through the choir, praise dancing, plays and altar servicing. There are 2 adult choirs (English and Haitian) led by the talented Jacques Bernier, as well as masses in French and Tagalog (real bilingual masses, not English masses with 1 reading in another language.) OLM makes you feel at home and a real member of a Catholic family. It is truly a place where you can be still and know God.

This is probably the only church in Brooklyn which has not had a Lenten or Advent Revival in years. There is no Youth Ministry (not even a Children's Choir), little to no Fellowship (except for the annual $85 a head Parish Dinner, and a few events hosted by the enthusiastic Filipino community). It is definitely a beautiful, peaceful church BUT that's it. It's basically a dead church. Nothing happens here. No fellowship. No community outreach. No revivals. No missions. Occasionally the Felipinos host a few events, but those are few and far between. They also have St. Jude Novena weekly, Stations of the Cross during Lent and First Friday devotions. However, if the Monsignor is doing the novena, once again, short and not so sweet. Before you blink twice it's over.There are 2 priests here. The Monsignor's sermons tend to be short, to the point and as boring as the day is long. The junior priest's sermons are interesting, thoughtful and relevant, but it's hit and miss if you get him at your Mass. You used to be able to sit with the Eucharist for Adoration in the chapel, but due to budget issues their hours are now severely cut back. It's very sad.
