All of my instructors have been very helpful and have really made this experience even more special. Even though we've been dealing with the effects of social distancing and the restrictions of Covid-19, Temple Beth Shalom has still maintained a strong connection with it's congregants and students, whether it's through classes or events or Shabbat service or High Holidays. When my Aunt passed from Covid-19 this year, Rabbi Freedman called to comfort me even though I was only a conversion student. I felt so grateful. The congregation also came together to unofficially sit Shiva for my Aunt. Temple Beth Shalom is a wonderful community. I can't wait to take my beit din at the end of Spring so I can officially be a part of this community.

I came in from San Clemente, California, Even though I was in pain from something that bit me on my hand here in Texas and my hand was swollen, I left with my heart so full. From the moment we walked in, I felt the love of this church. The music was uplifting, the worship was powerful, and the people were so warm and friendly. I even had the chance to meet Kara, who serves in communications. She was so kind, welcoming, and took the time to talk with us about the church. It really meant a lot. What impressed me most was how family-oriented The Grove is. There's a wonderful kids section for the little ones, programs for the older kids, and such a thoughtful setup with food, breakfast, and lunch. Both the indoor and outdoor services were beautiful and inviting. My kids have been attending The Grove for about three months now since moving to Austin six months ago, and I can see why they love it so much. I even told my other son that when he makes the move to Texas, he will have to join The Grove too! This church is truly special--a place of worship, community, and joy. Thing Two came…read morehere for the first time this summer and participated in the week-long faith-based day camp from June 26th to June 30th, led by Pastor L.J. MuCulloch. This camp is designed for Kinder through 5th graders (who have just graduated 5th grade) and runs from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Children who participate in this camp play games, read scripture, and parents can purchase Chick-fil-A meals for $12.00 per day for kiddos. Each day, the children learn about various bible passages that align with the theme of the camp. Each summer, the camp theme changes, and this year, it was "Road Trip" (taking a trip to discover Christ). On the last day of camp, parents are invited to camp to hear 'the word' with their children, learn about what has been happening throughout the week, and have a meal with their campers. Aside from the faith-based center of the camp, as a parent, I appreciated the communication that was sent to parents daily via email and on paper as well as the security protocols put in place to drop off and pick up campers safely and effectively. As a bonus, professional photos of campers are taken daily doing various types of activities. Parents can view these photos on a private website and download photos of their camper(s). Thing Two liked this camp so much to the point that she asked to volunteer next year at this location. The cost of this day camp is $230.00 For parents with little ones (11 years and younger) looking for a faith-based local camp, this may be the place you have been looking for. We weren't expecting much as the others were fairly small but the size of this one can be overwhelming. It was multiple stories tall and had piles of things for sale. Each room had more and more vendors. If you're looking for the crafty sort of gifts this place has everything from wood-carved crosses to jewelry to hair ties. Parking was hard despite the large lots because it was overflowing with people. For mobility impaired folks there's only one elevator which can make it hard to navigate as it's also pretty slow.

They have a youth group and a kids ministry during the main service which is what we loved the most. By the second week of us coming here our kids were asking for Bibles! They even started memorizing all the books of the Bible!! We have had such a great time here and have been welcomed as if we were distance family.
