They definitely make you feel at home. I definitely have found a place I can go to on days I can't go to the valley.

Temple Beth David can truly be called the promised land for all who join and attend it. TBD has a…read morediversity of services, congregation members, events, and the providing of knowledge and input regarding the adherence to Judaism in every way, shape and form. When Rabbi Nancy Myers prays and speaks during a service, it is done in a manner that allows you to be inspired and dedicated to the Jewish religion and the various aspects of it. She is very innovative in her awareness, manner and style. Rabbi Myers is also an excellent rabbinic teacher who lets you know the who, what, where and when of Judaism. Cantor Nancy Linder, who sings in very beautiful way, makes you want to listen, sing, and be loving of your faith. If there was a Jewish Voice Show, she would be given a first-place award for her musical talent and religious singing style (plus, if she was on the regular Voice Show, Cantor Linder would also infinitely be awarded by them!!) Temple Beth David's Brotherhood and Sisterhood work together to provide our members with with delightful resources and happenings. From brunches and carnivals to charitable donations and involved services, it would make you attending to the nth degree!! They are very much for you and with you as a productive and needed resource!! Our Temple also have a vibrant pre-school and religious school for students to learn in all different manners. The pre-school will educate the youthful students so that when they go to public school, each of them will have a high academic status and very much earning good grades from kindergarten and beyond. The religious school is designed to give every student a need to know all the different aspects of Judaism. They will be educated for everything from history and Hebrew to Judaic art and services. Both of these are true student educational environments!! As one who has been a member of several synagogues, Temple Beth David is my favorite in so many different ways. As a retired teacher and educator, I am grading it with an A++!!

Temple Beth David had a fundraiser with a tribute band that played Beach Boys and Eagles music. The optional lunch was served with a choice of a hamburger or a hotdog, coleslaw, and a slice of delicious cheesecake. Also a soda in a can. The musicians did not sound like the original band, but they did the songs really well and it sounded great. Everyone had a good time and I enjoyed all of the music.

Each of the services ever attended (so far) felt more like a perfunctory weekday minyan than a Shabbat service! (I get that providing a "deluxe" experience would drive up the costs and asking prices for participation--which indeed is a major issue at many congregations--but isn't there a happy medium? Could anyone volunteer to play guitar? Bake a challah? Is there room in the budget for a bottle of grape juice?) And alas, the restroom and its stalls are too small, and not easily accessible for any but the fully able-bodied. Worst of all, on some of the platforms where this congregation has a presence, the info about service times and "future" events is conflicting and/or outdated. This has been an issue for at least the past few months. Is anyone there genuinely interested in keeping up the "outreach" as a functioning congregation? (Especially as the holidays approach?) I really, really WANT to like this place! As an older congregation with a paid-off physical plant, it holds great potential for being the most affordable and welcoming Reform congregation in the region. The question is what the leaders' true intentions and plans are.
