Book shelves look more organized there is a nice kid section with stairs that's take you to a "treetop" sitting area upstairs. There is a community room that hold certain activities and events. There is some seating in designated areas. There is even a cute fireplace in the room I'm sitting in with tables and comfy chairs. There is a "study area" for school kids. This is the downside. The middle school is right across the street so kids come over after school and wait for their parents to come pick them up. Kids can be loud and abnoxious, talking loudly about alcohol and drugs. *rolls eyes* I know I've been that age before but it's distracting and hard to concentrate on work or reading.. the staff is pleasant and available to help you. I like to come here alot with my laptop and coffee for a nice place other than my house to work and study or just play on my phone. It's a change of scenery and plenty of brightness. It's convenient but could use some help for relieving new books. They can be hard to locate here if there are any. I just like coming here since it's pretty clean and close by.

The old building was pretty majestic - a real historic landmark - and I'll never quite forgive them for moving locations. New is not always better. The librarians knew me well. I used to BEG my mom to take us here when we were kids. Not to the movies, not to the mall...to the library. The magic place where I could get BOOKS for FREE. As an adult, I've sought refuge here when visiting the fam as it is probably the only place in Ashtabula County with wireless internet. The best memories of my childhood by far are of the GPL.

They recently installed a brand new carpet that takes has a print on it like a gravel road that you can follow through the section. They even cut out walk-through book shelves so that the books interact with the carpet. Oh and don't forget the puppet section - put on a show with all their fun and lively puppets! They also have a pet fat tailed leopard gecko that you can ask to hold. It is 10 years old and is as sweet as can be. For the library it self they have a large variety of every type of book you may want, including audio books as well. Since it is also part of the Cleveland Public Library, if you don't see the one you are looking for, they can bring it in from another library for you. That's beyond the scope of this review, though. I stopped into the library to see the opening of the exhibit commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Cavs' NBA Championship. I left after a four hour visit that included: -an escape room with a magnet as the prize -a scavenger hunt with a free t-shirt at the end -seeing the exhibit (which also included the Calder cup!) -meeting two artists who did artwork for the exhibit and getting autographed posters from one -sending unlimited free postcards of the library, the exhibit, and Cleveland -multiple coloring sessions and word searches -a free lunch from a taco truck (there was also cheesesteak and egg roll options) -watching people make me a button, tote bag, key chain, sticker, and coasters -making a stress ball -decorating a cookie and also getting a cupcake to bring home -meeting moondog -seeing tons of stuff, including a chess set of salt and pepper shakers, menus from the original stouffers, and the Superman pajamas I had as a kid in the library's regular exhibits I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I had forgotten how grand the library is. It is definitely a hidden gem. CPL is worth a visit for any visitor and local. The Superman exhibit was small but had many items of interest. They were all very friendly. If you are going for reading material the CPL collection seemed enormous.

I was kindly shown (given a tour) around the library by a staff member as it was my first time inside. So, customer service was good. The person who showed me around happened to be a security guard. I don't live in that neighbourhood so it was nice to visit a different library for a change. BOOKS AND MORE: They have a solid collection of books and research materials. If there is a book that you can't find on the online database or in person, you can ask a staff member to see if another location has the book you're looking for. They also have computers available for use. If you haven't visited any of the CPL locations then this one is good as I had a good experience here. I also highly recommend the main library location downtown which is pretty much like a museum.
