I used the Connexion shuttle service when I went to Netherlands last week. Since taxis are too expensive (about 45 -50 Euro) and the Tram would take too long, I decided to use the Connexion shuttle service instead. I paid 25 Euro for a round trip fare and they take you to your hotel in downtown Amsterdam. It was definitely worth it. It's less hassle than the tram and cost less than a cab. They are also very good at picking you up for the return back to the airport. They can pick you up at more than 100 hotels in the city even if you are not staying at those hotel establishments. Just make sure you call them or have the hotel makes reservation for you the day before. The driver that dropped me off to my hotel was very nice and I even took a picture of him. He requested that I send him the picture because he collects the pictures of tourists that takes photos of him. Unfortunately, I lost the email that he gave me. I have mixed feelings regarding Schiphol Hotel Shuttle. I only used their service from the airport to the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre. Overall the ride was fine, but I had some issues with organization at the airport. I decided to purchase my tickets in person instead of online because I wasn't sure of my arrival timing. If I had purchased tickets online before I got to Amsterdam, I would have received a small discount off. Purchasing the tickets from the counter in person though was easy and I was then directed outside to the waiting area. When it came to the waiting area, this is where I felt the service had some issues. There was one man outside running the area, but a mass of people lined up. At times it felt like there was some confusion as to how the lineup worked with some individuals trying to cut. There was no indication if you should check-in with the man in the waiting area. I felt it was strange he never asked to see our tickets or had an organized list of departures. This would have helped with some of the confusion. Schiphol Hotel Shuttle advertises departures at intervals of maximum 30 minutes, with no waits longer than 30 minutes. I found this to not be the case at all. It took around an hour in line before we finally boarded a shuttle. It seemed like they had a shuttle arrive at the airport every 30 minutes instead of taking into account how many people were in line. More shuttles should have arrived for the number of people in line in order to meet the promise of not waiting longer than 30 minutes for a shuttle. The shuttle itself was clean and the drive into Amsterdam was fast. The only major hold up was one of the other passengers in the shuttle did not purchase tickets. This should have been discovered before the van even left the loading area by the man running the line. The driver was the only individual who looked at our tickets. The driver then had to pull over after loading the van to let the couple out so they could run into the airport and purchase tickets. We then had to wait for the couple to come back, which added more time onto our wait. Overall the driving was fine and the drive into Amsterdam didn't take long. The biggest complaints I had with the service was regarding the waiting at the airport for the shuttle and the lineup. If this aspect had been more organized, I would easily add an additional star to this review. I may use Schiphol Hotel Shuttle in the future, but this ultimately depends on who I'm traveling with and to where in Amsterdam. read more

I don't want anyone to have to deal with the inconvenience that we dealt with by this service. Take this as you will but I felt as though this needed to be put out there. We purchased e-tickets online for direct shuttle service to our hotel from the airport. Once we found the shuttle we were admitted on but promptly removed and told we had to print our passes. Nowhere on the website said we needed to have these printed (hence why we purchased e-tickets) their help desk was a distance away from the shuttle stop and when we finally found them and made it back to the stop we waited another 20 minutes and were told there was no room (we were second in line, just two of us) We waited another 30 min and finally got on. I noticed other people were experiencing the same exact issue and when someone expressed that they were not informed they needed to print the ticket, the employee attending the spot became very vulgar and aggressive toward the customer. This service is 100% not worth the headache and displeasure that it caused us as well as the others around us who experienced this terrible service. Just Uber or take a taxi. read more

Same as others' reviews, this is the worst service I have ever experienced and I hope everyone avoid using this shuttle service as much as they could. I purchased round-trip ticket from this company and their driver was supposed to pick me up from a hotel at centre amsterdam. My hotel manager spoke to the dispatch on the previous day of booking to set the meeting time. I closely carefully exactly followed the dispatch's advice and was 5 minutes earlier than the agreed meeting time. However, the driver arrived at my hotel way toooooo early -- he was there more than 20 mins earlier than the meeting time and refused to wait for me and left immediately. I mean, this is not MY fault right? You were more than 20 mins earlier and then you refused to wait. Ridiculous. The hotel manager and me both talked to the dispatch but the dispatch refuse to help (he said the only thing he can do is to pick me up one hour later, which means I would miss my flight!!!). Everyone witness this in and outside the hotel agreed that it was the company's fault, especially the ill-behaved dispatch. We ask the dispatch if there is going to be any refund of my un-used ticket and the compensation of the money of the taxi fare (because your driver failed to pick me up, I have to take a taxi instead). The dispatch laughed at us and answered in a very playful tone saying ``No~~No~~'' This is truly outrageous and not the thing that would happen with such a prestigious transportation company in the Netherlands. This is not the way to do business. I wish I had read the customer's comments earlier here so I could know to avoid using this service earlier!!!! read more

This "company" is a TOTAL SCAM!! I would never recommend it to anyone! We have booked a return trip for 4 people. The so-called "company manager" was rude and unpleasant when we arrived at his shuttle (we ran from the airport arrival gates to arrive at the shuttle on time for the supposed departure every 20 minutes). He almost didn't wanted to have a look at our tickets and just asked us to wait until there would be more customers and just shouted at us with no reason. The driver told us that they would know when to pick us at our hotel on the way back...and we believed him (as we already had payed the return trip). On the way back to the airport it was even worse! We almost missed our flight because of this non-professional company! We were outside our hotel for the pick-up time just like the driver asked us to do. After 30 minutes of waiting (on a cold and rainy day ready with our suitcases on the sidewalk) and a no-show, we finally decided to ask the hotel to call them. They totally forgot about us, but invented all sorts of pathetic excuses as they went along. They said they would come in 10 minutes...which transformed to 30 minutes each time. They said a driver was on his way to pick-us, but was trapped in traffic...come on they run a shuttle company and don't know how to manage time?! I finally had to call their "customer service" because we were about to miss our flight..the guy on the phone told me it was none of his business (!) and just hung up on me in the face!! When the driver finally arrived (we had less than an hour before the departure of our flight at that time!) he came on the wrong way of the road, told us he had to pick some other clients on the way to the airport and took the busiest streets in Amsterdam. When he finally understood that we would miss our flight, he finally decided not to pick-up the other clients and drove very dangerously to the airport. We managed to board just in time, but what a bitter taste for an end of this trip! NEVER AGAIN!! read more

BEWARE! Do not book! Simply terrible. Its amazing that they are still legally able to operate with the scams this business is running. the trip to the hotel was okay- service was medicore, as we sat in the shuttle bus for 20 mins before it actually got going to our destination. What is truly disappointing is that the bus fails to take you back to the airport. We scheduled the bus to pick us up at a certain time and there's ridiculous fine print that states the bus can leave 15 mins before the scheduled time for pick up! REALLY? WHAT KIND OF POLICY IS THIS???? Makes absolutely no sense. When I booked a pick up at a certain time, I expect to be picked up at the exact time. What is more disappointing is that we decided to take Uber to the airport instead, since taxi was 40-50 euro. The Uber ride from my hotel to the airport was only 10 Euro. Beware of this company. They we waited for over an hour to be picked up for our trip back to the airport and no one showed to pick us up. After calling, they said someone came but we were not there. This was a lie as the front desk clerk told them we were sitting right there in the lobby by the front door! Had to take a taxi and this company refused to pay for or even refund their payment! Was told by hotel that this company is notoriously unreliable. Lesson learned! read more

I have used the Connexxion shuttle between Schiphol airport and Amsterdam hotels for many years with no problems. Prior to today, I would have said that they are totally trustworthy and very efficient. Unfortunately, this last experience makes me question whether or not I will ever use this shuttle service again. I arrived early in Schiphol after a red-eye flight from N America with a knee injury. Although my hotel was close to the Sloterdijk train station, I decided to take the shuttle to avoid the need to drag 30 kg of luggage on and off of public transportation. There was a large number of people waiting in line for the shuttle at the airport. I half expected them to call a larger vehicle, but they just made everyone wait longer. When he arrived, our driver was very polite and thoughtful. However, to my surprise, he dropped me off at the back entrance of the Sloterdijk train station, informing me that my hotel was just up what looked like a ramp from where we were standing. It was not a ramp, there was no ramp. Only several flights of stairs leading to an an area about 100m from the front of the hotel where several taxis and other cars were parked. It seems I took the long way to get to my destination. Would have cost less and been quicker to take the train. My knee is killing me. read more

Do not use this company. We nearly missed our flight as they didn't turn up. Got a taxi back to airport same as would have paid for these lot. On way there finding the office is a nightmare and staff at reception are rude!! read more

Travelled April 2018. I can't understand the previous bad reviews. I booked my ticket online and this was an easy process. I was booked on the last coach at 9pm as I had an evening flight. My flight was delayed and by the time I collected my luggage it was 9.15 pm, well after their closing time. As the last transport from the airport is normally 9pm, I was panicking. I contacted Connexion, who were still contactable even after 9 and they organised a special transport to the hotel for me - and 2 others who had the same problem but were going to different places. And throughout this process, they were polite, friendly. It was raining when we got to my hotel and the driver still got out to help with luggage. Outstanding customer service and excellent company. The best way to get from airport to hotel. I cannot recommend that company enough. I feel that they went over and above with their customer service even if it was after their closing time and I was not left stranded at the airport late at night. Well done Connexxion! read more

This company is awful and i would recommend people to walk rather than use them as it would be 100x quicker, cheaper and less hassle. When I arrived at the airport and got onto the shuttle bus I was told I would have to wait 10-15 minutes for other passengers. I didn't mind doing this so sat and waited. After 30 minutes and still no passengers I asked when we would leave. After waiting for 40 minutes and still no passengers we finally left. I was then supposed to be picked up at 16:12 from my hotel and be taken to the airport. I was told to be ready 15 mins before in case they were early, so I was ready and waiting at 15:50. I was also told on my confirmation to wait 15 mins after the pick up time and to call if no one was there. at 16:30 the manager of my hotel said he would call. Apparently the bus was stuck in traffic in the city centre and could come in about 10 minutes. At 16:50 I then asked another member of staff to call and see where the bus was. She said that it was leaving a hotel and I would be the last one to be picked up in 5 minutes. The bus then arrived at 17:05 with no other passengers. I was very annoyed but thought as i was the only passenger and the airport was 30 minutes away this would not be a problem. After driving around almost all of Amsterdam, the bus then stopped at another hotel at 17:20 to find that the customers had left and found their own way to the airport due to how late the shuttle bus was. I was then told I would be taken straight to the airport. at 17:45 we had then stopped at another hotel to pick up a lady. After finally arriving at the airport at 18:05 I then had 40 minutes to get through security and passport control before the gates closed for my flight. Unfortunately as it was very busy i missed my flight due to this company being an hour late to pick me up and lying about where they were and where we were going. For the 54€ paid I will never ever use this company again. read more

After a long flight, including a long layover, my husband and I arrived and walked the length of the terminal to get to the desk. We were given instructions about where to wait, but couldn't figure out how to find it in an airport we'd never been in before. We finally found it after asking several people for help and dragging our luggage the length of the terminal again. We were the only two people waiting, but had to wait for 45 minutes beyond our scheduled pickup time. The man monitoring the waiting area said he couldn't understand where the shuttle was, as he'd already seen two enter the airport area. He said the drivers like to spend time going to the restroom, smoking and going for coffee. I was tired and chilled and furious by the time the shuttle finally arrived. The dispatcher told the driver not to stop and pick up any other passengers, but to take us straight to the hotel. I would rather have paid for a taxi than have had this experience. I felt like we had lost an hour of our vacation that we could never get back. read more

I have used the Connexxions shuttle service for many times without incident, but my recent experience with this fraudulent "service" is a big ZERO. Upon arrival at Schipol, I booked a return trip from the airport to my hotel. As it turned out, there were construction issues at my hotel of which was unaware when I booked it. When the driver dropped me off, he told me that he was unable to take me to the hotel entrance because of the construction, and that I would have to walk about 50 meters to the hotel enhance. Fair enough, I was angry that the hotel didn't inform me of the construction. The driver said that I should just give the information about my pick up time to the hotel desk, and that Connexxions would pick me up at the specified time at the point where they had dropped me off in form to the Concertbouwe. I had a bad feeling about this and gave the information to the hotel reception in several days of advance of my departure just to be sure that everything would be arranged correctly for my departure. However, prior to the morning of my departure, Connexxions and my hotel communicated and decided that it would be better if the driver would personally meet me at my hotel to "walk me through the construction" and escort me to the vehicle, apparently because they thought I might get "lost". As it happens, I am very familiar with Amsterdam, and if the shuttle had arrived at the specified time I would have easily been able to meet it at the Concertbouwe where I was originally dropped off. On the morning of my departure, the temporary boards which covered the sand in the construction activity were removed, and there were several construction vehicles moving the wet sand, which seemed to be everywhere in front to the hotel. As it turned out, these scumbags called the hotel (who stated that they were extremely rude) exactly at my pickup time and gave some bullshit excuse that it was "one of the busiest Mondays of the year". I think that they just didn't want to be bothered and as a result I was left in the lurch by Connexxions and was totally screwed. I think that there was an inexperienced driver who panicked, and did not know how to use GPS, for if he did so, he would realize that he could avoid all of the construction by simply going around the corner, mere steps from the hotel entrance. The actions of these dirtballs is pathetically transparent, and I will never use them again, and will take every opportunity to dissuade others from doing so. I was able to arrange transportation to the airport by cab at 4 times the original rate, and barely made my plane. When I demanded a refund they had the balls to offer me only 11 Euros (original return was 34 /euros). read more
