I really just can't imagine having our kids in any other school…read more Our oldest child is in PACE and the academic standards for the entire school are not too far behind. We have loved nearly all of the teachers that have had the honor of teaching our children. For the ones we didn't quite love as much, well, you win some, you lose some. Some people just don't get along with each other. I can not say anything bad about their skills as teachers because my children are all coming along fine. Their personalities just weren't for us as I'm sure our personalities weren't for them. The Learning Patch is awesome and I truly wish I had more time to volunteer and be a more active part of the PTA. The garden is completely volunteer run, so if you have some extra time on a scheduled workday, please stop by. If you have things to donate: plants, seeds, gardening tools, etc... those things are all happily accepted as well. The PTA: without question or argument, this school would not be what it is without the immense amount of parent involvement. I have heard several people make mention of the the PTA being "cliquish" but I have not personally experienced that type of behavior. I admittedly do not participate as often as I would like to but any time that I have stopped in, I have felt welcomed. I can not recommend this school enough. It has an amazing community.

I did have my daughter in another school for a short period of time that was absolutely horrible with lots of bullying. We have never witnessed such a thing at this school and if there is, it is handled appropriately and in a timely fashion! Absolutely love our school!

It was completely free. A very needed service for preschoolers with disabilities!!! Lows: you're not allowed to observe. There was no documentation on the kids days. His IEP was never formally gone through with me. Less then 24 hrs notice for things like, bring a pink treat day or send in donations for making gingerbread houses. His speech therapist mishandled his IEP several times. On the day we withdrew him I brought in thank you cards for the teachers and was told his speech therapist no longer works there. No one thought to tell me. Crazy mismanaged school. But good heart. If you have a preschool kiddo getting an IEP know that you also have an option to get funding straight from the state via ESA's. You can use that on therapies for them. I hate hate hate redirecting funds from public school but I have to do what's best for my 4 year old who wasn't getting the care he was entitled to.

The school is very secure and safe you need a passcode to enter the front gates during school hours! During the morning and dismissals there are numerous staff members standing outside so all eyes are on your children. There's been times where I was standing outside the gate and my kid ran out the gate to hug me and as soon as he got to the gate exit they grabbed him so fast then realized I was standing there BUT I AM SO GRATEFUL to know that they are watching the kids every move and they are so quick! I decided to keep my son enrolled after a teacher friend said he should be fine. That was a mistake. A student who bullied my son for three years threatened my son's life and Amy decided it was appropriate to offer my son one solution - mediation. This was after I informed her of the bullying for three year, which she magically "forgot." She thought it was appropriate that after someone threatens to kill my son to try to teach him "it's okay, let's work it out." When I brought up issues, she'd tell me "I didn't bring them up right after they happened so she won't do anything" in front of her boss, who was kind enough to agree that parents can bring up issues when they feel it's appropriate. If you do enroll your child here, Amy forgets everything, so I strongly recommend you keep an email record as proof. On top of that, when I brought my minority husband in to discuss issues, Amy gave him the nastiest looks which we both witnessed but kept quiet about. When bringing up these issues to the district, they didn't care. This experience was so bad for my family we're now leaving the public education realm and will be going to a charter school.

The homework is substantial, the tests and quizzes are challenging, and the teachers expect a lot from the kids. It's not easy to get into this school (lottery and waiting lists) but it's every bit worth the effort. My kids will both graduate from here probably more capable than I was when I graduated college. The teachers are available virtually ANY time for tutoring, and the staff and parents group are both above excellent. Glad I found this school, and you will be too.

If I could leave zero stars I would due to My son had one of the worst experiences at this school…read more He went through a serious health concern after an incident that happened on campus, and the school failed to take proper action or provide the care and attention the situation deserved. As a parent, it was heartbreaking to see that no real concern or responsibility was taken. Due to the incident, I had to take my son to have a tooth removed. I expected the school to handle the matter seriously and ensure student safety, but unfortunately nothing meaningful was done. I hope no other child or parent has to go through this experience. My son's graduation was a complete mess and extremely disappointing. Every student's name was called and recognized except for my son, even though he was graduating as well. Watching him be completely overlooked during such an important moment was heartbreaking as a parent. What made the situation worse was the lack of accountability and professionalism afterward. There was no face-to-face apology or genuine effort made to correct the situation. A graduation should be a proud and memorable day for every child, and unfortunately this experience was the exact opposite for my son and our family. And for this reason, I will not send my son back. Kindergarten was last year there.
