The homework is substantial, the tests and quizzes are challenging, and the teachers expect a lot from the kids. It's not easy to get into this school (lottery and waiting lists) but it's every bit worth the effort. My kids will both graduate from here probably more capable than I was when I graduated college. Found this school online and looked at stats, what they offered , read some reviews and saw the…read moreclass sizes. JMPS sounded like exactly what our son needed. Other schools had passed him even though he had not done the assignments. This made it even more difficult to go forward and he was getting pretty frustrated. In addition there were too many kids at the public schools and lots of behavior issues with all the kids so he was totally distracted . Once he started at JMPS he immediately liked the teaching staff as they were much more helpful than he was used to and he noticed that all the kids were pretty nice. He came home and was actually doing homework again and we were very happy with how much encouragement he received all throughout the year. The school is more traditional based with students wearing Uniforms which seem to keep all the kids less distracted and not focused on what they wear. We hope to keep our son at this school where we think he will get a much better education and a good overall high school experience.
