Conns in North McAllen are a bunch of crooks. I was purchasing about $10,000 worth of appliances and was handed an IPAD with just a total of about $1,500 more. I asked to see a list of the price and how they arrived at that number and was given resistance. They finally show it to me after the manager arrived and I was being charged for life insurance!!!!! I am at an appliance store, did not ask for life insurance and am being charged for it. Poor sales guy said he has no control over that. It comes from corporate. I walked out. They could have at least asked me but instead they tried to sneak it in and not hide it. Don't have time for thieves. The manager went to hide. read more

Bought a washer and dryer from this location. The washer is still under warranty but stopped working. 2 techs came out trying to fix it and the second one found what he thought was the issue so a third tech was dispatched with the part. Once that tech shows up with the part in hand he refused service and Conn's only solution was to cancel the warranty. If warranty work was already started and 2 other techs were ready to fix it why would the third tech refuse. Very unprofessional and lack of customer service. If you do purchase from this store or any Conn's stores please understand their customer service is trash and I guess some techs are just lazy. Lack of communication left us without a washer for weeks now and possibly more on top of the debt of a washer that doesn't work! read more

Very aggressive sales woman always does the same thing when we enter the store hovers over us and constantly following us around very uncomfortable feelings was going to buy multiple appliances and she totally ruined it for us! Last time we shop here!! read more

The sales team and management at this location give a new meaning to the business name. My wife and I went Three times on false pretenses only to learn that their "prices went up the day before" or even that same morning! Furthermore. I took them a weekly add from Home Depot showing a lower price on an appliance I wanted and they figured out a way to make it seem that the specific ad did not qualify for price match. Several years ago, we were shopping for a new tv and had gone to a couple of stores and the staff wouldn't wait on us. (at least one of those has since closed). We decided to try Conn's. We were immediately waited on, and after we purchased the TV, a couple of the salesmen said to pull around back and we'll deliver the TV right now. They followed us to the house, completely installed the TV, and were quickly on their way. This whole process took about a half an hour. Recently, I needed a new fridge, so we checked around and ended up going back to Conn's again. They had a fantastic model (that no one else carried), and we had it in place the next morning. read more

Truly one of the worst experiences I've been a part of... i went for a computer that costed 1700 dollars and now theyre charging me 2000 more on a fee that was not mentioned on the fast paced contract i signed. The sales staff just told us this is routine stuff to get the computer out. We went in looking for 1700 and now we have to pay 3800 with payments of 78 dollars every week for 53 weeks when we stated to the sales person we'd pay 300 weekly. Not being smart enough we didnt do the math and figured they were still charging us with 2000 dollars more. Dont come to conns for anything. Save up and pay full price elsewhere. read more

I have tried to set up bill auto-pay. Conn's system purposely will not allow you to pay your account in advance in order to charge you the full interest. Conn's is quick to make you sign a contract but terrible customer service and minimal knowledge of their own policies. read more

I was shopping for a top of the range LG Steam Washer, and Conn's was my final stop of the day. Good thing too, I got a great deal and they actually had it in stock. The other spots that I tried first had to order the washer. I got the washer + 2-year extended warranty for under what the other spots wanted for just the washer. I savings of $200+. I will make Conn's one of my first stops now when shopping for electronics. read more

It's really unfortunate that we came in with the intention of signing for furniture and an already approved credit line because nobody bothered to assist us. We spent 20 minutes looking around with employees talking amongst themselves, so we left. Genuinely knew exactly what we wanted, but we're going to try the other Conn's and hope they want to sell something. read more

BEWARE: The sales associates/ manager make you leave with unnecessary insurance! They tell you that you have to add it on and come back into the store to remove it a month later. THIS IS A LIE. If you have proof of home owner insurance OR rental insurance there is NO need to get this insurance. I cancelled the insurance a month later & was told I would NOT be refunded because it was PAST the 30 days.... which is the amount of time they told me to WAIT. I went in and "cancelled" the insurance on 4/24 and as of TODAY 6/8 it has NOT been removed. It should've only taken 2-3 business days! It's very unfortunate that they trick their customers, NEVER going back! read more

I am so disappointed at Conn's and the way they try to "resolve" an issue, they weren't even trying and always giving me the run around, they always ask you if you want to purchase the warranty which I did and now they are telling me it doesn't cover what I need it to cover. What is the purpose of the insurance if they don't cover what you need. I will definitely be taking my business somewhere else. After furnishing my entire house with Conn's I don't think I'll be coming back to Conn's and that make me so sad because after all they do have good appliances, but the customer service is definitely very bad. From May 2011 - July 2012 we have purchased 4 different items from Conn's in Mcallen. The service and treatment we have received from the staff there has been steller. We are also very impressed with their quality of products. I highly recommend Conn's. Will continue to shop there in the near future. Expressway helped my daughter out telling her don't worry everything will be fine but the thing is they don't tell you all sales all final and no return.... she got a dinning table and he told us no assembly need it was a bunch of BS !!!
