From the moment I stepped foot in the door, Jonathan listened intently as he asked questions that really dug deep into my physical and mental health. He has a super bedside manner which effortlessly lowered my guard almost all the way. I didn't realize how incredibly exhausted, stressed and guarded I've been lately, both mentally and physically. The years have indeed caught up and during the acupuncture treatment, I was feeling emotions and thoughts that I didn't even know I still held on to. He had music playing in the treatment room that really pulls you in. It has such primordial sound to it that it seemed to deeply reasonable with my soul and inner being. At some points, while laying down, it felt like I was having a psychotherapy session with my inner self being the guide. During a few moments, it got so intense that I was about to call it quits, however I focused on my breath, accept the present moment and the emotions that surfaced. From there, I was able to relax even deeper. While I'm not squeamish with needles, I certainly don't like them. Jonathan has a great touch and threaded the needles so smoothly then I barely sense them when they entered the skin. I say barely as of course, your most sensitivity and troublesome body parts will feel it a bit than other areas.. naturally. After the acupuncture portion ended, Jonathan gave me a very relaxing and much needed back massage. After he left the room, I listened to my body and deep some deep self stretching for another 5 minutes. I will certainly be making this a part of my overall regime as I embark on a journey of self-discipline, physical realignment and spiritual discovery.

It was a suggested method of healing as a tween back in the early 90s but not as popular of an option for us east coast treated patients. Western medicine and increased knowledge and documented successfulness of the craft has truly come a long way in the past two decades. As a kid I was terrified of needles so accupunture which utilizes what I now understand to be small, thin pins positioned just right in different areas of the body to aid natural healing, was definitely a last option for me at the time. I healed almost to what many good doctors considered 100%. So that 5th final option of accupuncture was left in the dust behind, with the majority of the drama of the surprise ailment. Then i turned 30 a few years back and thought, what if? What if i had tried that 5th option as a kid? Would I have healed faster? Would I have healed 100%? I was made aware of a local man (Dr. Wong), a M.D. & Accupunture specialist. I decided why not go in and see what he could do almost 20 years after the fact. He was honest and gave opinion that there was a small possibility and to try a few sessions. If he didn't see improvement for that last small % of healing then he would tell me not to waste $ or thoughts on it. So I started and surprised myself and with his help within 3-4 sessions change was happening...talk about total success and uplifting feelings. I nicknamed him Dr. wRight vs Wong, and the story begins there but doesn't end. I lost Dr. wRight locally and had to find someone new I could trust. I scouted out a few fellas and then presented him on what i thought was going to be my last visit my selection - Dr. Lee. He knew of him and his professional talents, and I was on to learning more with him for some time. Unfortunately, even though he has multiple offices it wasn't/isn't always the easiest to get his way. Acupuncture is one of the few things that has improved my symptoms, especially the paralysis and spasticity, which is saying something as there is no cure for MS and anything that makes it manageable is downright miraculous to me. Mr. Johnson is very knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions and able to explain things very clearly, even if you have no experience with acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine. I called prior to making the appointment and spoke directly to the Dr who helped me to make a same day appointment. I arrived about 10 mins early, filled out some forms and was seen right after. The Dr did a consult with my where he collected history about my conditions and then developed a plan of care. The facility is clean and each area is sectioned off with a curtain. First he worked on my face, manually massaging it and stressing knots that I had in the tissues to release tension and inflammation. Next, he addressed my feet applying the stem treatment for 15 mins and then doing a manual massage. This was painful but was affirming. I made appointments for future visits and was out of there. Two cisits later, I'm so glad I found him.

2026 update!!! It's been a while, I moved away for a bit, and then when I moved back they were kind…read moreof far from me & I'm broke. But I threw out my back & I've had it with the steroid injections & bs. So I spoiled myself. They just reopened on Willoughby in Bushwick and oh my lanta!!!! It's a much more intimate space than they had 10 years ago, when you go for the community option I think there's only three beds now. Not only does the bed heat up, but the wonderful Dr Patchi put a heating lamp on my back for my cramps. LUXURY I swear this was a spa like experience! Patchi is super warm & chill, and SO intuitive with her hands. She also used a tens unit which I completely love. She is so so so skilled, and that excellent skill is overshadowed in the best way by her warmth. When we were done I slowly sat up and stretched my back a bit, and felt pops where I've been really needing to feel pops! She also did some needling for an ankle I broke last year that I'm still healing, and I'm really impressed by how much that worked. Of course it isn't magic, I still have cramps and my back is still rough, but both are much much much more manageable after just one session. I was tipped off to a pay what you can day coming up soon, and I really really really appreciated that (& immediately booked a spot). Being broke sucks, this economy sucks, looking for a job sucks, and it sucks even more when you feel like you're being judged for not having much money (esp since Bushwick is turning snooty).
