I came out to see the location for a bridal vendor meet and get ideas for our daughter's upcoming wedding. We had so many different delicious dessert's, coffee, cotton candy and even a photo booth ! When you first drive down the road you come to a huge parking lot. Perfect if you are having a big wedding. I love that crazy woman...) we had an amazing experience. The biggest reason we booked this venue is that the place is gorgeous. Amazing picture taking venue. You want water in the background? There's a pond out back. Trees? There's a little tree farm next door. Bushes/bench? Right there. Stairs for a group shot? Out front. A gorgeous house in the background? A staircase? Fireplace? All available for photos. The main room where we held the ceremony wasn't too big. It could probably hold in ~100 people comfortably (we only had ~15). However, it is laid out such that there is glass on three sides of the room, giving you great natural light and some beautiful background. They also have a full kitchen there for party purposes and a sound system you can plug into for music. Martha (who runs the place) was really accommodating helpful. She gave us the WiFi password so we could Skype in family for the wedding. She had no problem letting us have our dog as our ring bearer. And when we got there, the chairs were already set up. We loved it. I am so used to a "fancier" spot such as Kings at North Hills, but I would come back here over Kings now that I have been! Everyone that worked there was friendly. The space is huge, and they have many lanes. You don't feel like you are on top of each other, which is nice. I believe it was about $30 for all of us to play two games/get shoes, which is not bad at all! They have a huge arcade type space with plenty of games and even a small ride that mimics the Himalaya at the N.C. State Fair! You can play games, earn tickets, and they have a full force prize booth! It's pretty cool! There is an incredibly extensive food menu, and they have decent drink options as well; beer, wine, soda, juice, water, etc. The only food we got were the chicken tenders, and although frozen I actually asked the woman the brand. We personally have gay friends but we believe their behavior is a sin. I am a sinner and I believe we should love the sinner and hate the sin. The current law allows gay couples to marry. I think gay couples should respect the beliefs of others just as they want to be respected. " Clearly, they don't want to come right out and say we are not welcome, but they made it clear. Nowhere in my initial email was I disrespectful to them, so I'm not sure whey they felt the need to point out that we needed to respect their beliefs. A simple, "We can not accommodate your request at this time," would have been fine. We were not asking them to officiate our wedding. We were asking them if they would do their jobs as business owners, take our money, host our event, and keep their personal opinions to themselves. How their religious beliefs impact their business I don't really understand. It is really too bad, because as I mentioned, this venue looks absolutely gorgeous. However after the rude and frankly condescending email back, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I suggest those who support marriage equality do not support this highly unprofessional business.
