Combo of Spicy Chicken Burger with 2 Con dogs.
    Joe S.

I've been to several Cook Outs and they are all mostly the same. To begin with customer service is always great and the restaurant is always clean and neat. Also most of the time I get my order quickly which is one of the reasons I like Cook Out. Additionally the food here is not costly at all very affordable. Most of the time I get the spicy chicken burger with 2 corn dogs on the side. The food here is quite tasty. Furthermore if y'all are looking for a low cost meal and good I recommend trying Cook Out.

very disappointed! i went to color after work tonight around 9:30. i got the treat with a chicken sandwich, had everything on it, which i didn't ask for so i simply picked it off and i went to look at my sides, i asked for onion rings and cheese bites. they only gave me 4 onion rings and 8 cheese bites!! wtf? one of my onion rings were completely mushy, and the cheese curds were barely cooked the cheese wasn't even half way melted, on top of that they forgot my sauce! this is my first bad review ever! so i feel terrible but come on get it together people

The "large" drink I got from cookout. Total scam!

Won't ever be going back here again. This is their "large" drink that costs almost $3! Service is poor, staff is rude and food is below subpar.

One of the busiest Cook Out's I've been too. We stumbled upon this spot while driving from Wytheville to Knoxville at about 10:30 pm when most places in town were closed (sadly YELP didn't show this location open) but fortunately it was. The place was packed and we waited about 10 minutes before we were able to order. Fortunately, once we did the food came out within five minutes. Efficient and the order came exactly how we asked for it. This Cook Out didn't burn our burgers. In fact, it was done perfect. The corn dogs and chicken nuggets were good, too. This was the first time I tried the spicy chicken sandwich and I was impressed, as were we with the cajun fries. In short, Cook Out has value I still don't understand. It's way better than McDonalds, yet cheaper and with a grade of flavor and quality one step higher. There's massive value here and while it's not great food, for what you spend it's perfect.

Left: Barbecue sandwich, bacon wrap, and onion rings. Right: Burger, quesadilla, and onion rings.

Overall, it's an tastier version of a school lunch. The menu is a bit confusing initially but the worker was kind helped us with our order. I like that I can get a bit of variety with the choose one main and two sides. I asked for barbecue sauce and A1 but there was none in the bag or on my barbecue sandwich. I would eat here again, but keep in mind there are other options in the area.

It's not just a drive-thru like most. U can actually sit in the establishment which is neat. Very clean. Located close to walmart. Great shakes as well!

Is it wrong of me to just get piles of hush puppies and milkshakes, because I may do that the next time I run through a Cook Out.

The ladies working inside were extremely friendly and helpful, which was a great start. Their menu is incredibly unique and fun, featuring a wide variety of amazing burgers. As a fan of spicy food, I was pleased to see several options that catered to my taste. My server took the time to explain how they roast hot peppers to create their own unique blend, which I found very impressive. I decided to go with the Cold, Cold Heart burger, primarily because it included jalapeños. Although tempted by the Fire God Burger, the combination of scorpion and ghost peppers seemed a bit too intense for me. My burger was prepared quickly while I watched from the counter, which was a nice touch. The fries that accompanied it were excellent--slightly thicker than regular fries with a delightful seasoning. They were served piping hot and crispy. The highlight was definitely the burger itself. It was outstanding! The jalapeños added a lovely flavor without being overly spicy, and the bun was exceptional--soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. The meat was substantial and perfectly cooked. For condiments, they offer squeeze bottles from the fridge upon request. I opted for mayo on my burger and experimented with ketchup and mustard separately to see which I preferred. Honestly, the burger was delicious with or without the additional condiments. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would highly recommend stopping in. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town!

We were told there was going to be a 15 min wait, but we're seated with five minutes. We got crab Rangoon, which was delicious. The portion was fairly small for the price. But, fortunately main courses followed soon after. I got the pad thai and it was really tasty. I chose tofu as the protein, and they went fairly light on the tofu. Also, I'm used to my pod Thai having a few more bells and whistles, like more greens, sprouts, and more than one lime wedge. But, it's on me for not requesting extras of those things. I ate all of my food. The portion was just right for a sit down meal and that worked well for me because as a tourist who was bopping around town, I did not want to have a to go box. Service was friendly and attentive. The place was pretty big and fairly loud, but the tables were spaced well between each other so we weren't impacted by the noise on either side. If you're trying to find a place that multiple people will agree on, this isn't a bad choice because they have a variety of different cuisines. Overall, I would definitely stop back at some point, though I might not seek it out as my top choice for a place to eat in the area.

We kicked things off with chips and queso, then ordered the Smoked Turkey salad and the brisket sandwich with tots and wow! Every bite was phenomenal. The brisket sandwich with the jam was an unreal combo, and the salad was packed with flavor (and plenty of meat). The restaurant itself is adorable, with tons of indoor seating, a bar, super cute outdoor space, and great TVs. The staff was incredibly sweet and accommodating, which made the experience even better. Bonus: you can make reservations ahead of time on Resy. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so there's always a reason to stop by. Can't wait to come back and work our way through more of the menu next time we're in town!

I suppose proximity to the Va Creeper Trail encouraged this as I could see folk holding up a table whilst waiting would be a potential issue. We were seated promptly and given menus and served water and sodas. The rock music was pretty loud for the restaurant, which has some smaller rooms that are serviceable but cramped and a bit echoey and dark. By 12:35 our order was in and by 12:51 on our table. The table has a nice individual light, and a bottle of water on the table. Unlike some other local restaurants, soda refills are free and a pitcher was brought by the table to serve refills of diet coke. What was not good was the large beer poster of the St Paulie Girl with her nipples hanging out. I realize these are beer posters and I realize they are German and things are different there. But this was a prominently placed poster. I just wouldn't think a place where a lot of families dine would put this in such a prominent spot, or any spot really. I'm not a super prude, I just raised three sons. So the sandwich though, was very good.
