I have a rental property in Banner Elk that potentially had bed bugs and needed to have the…read moreproperty inspected and treated quickly since the property is occupied and they have small child. I got an apt for inspection right away and Bryan came out quickly. He was very professional and thorough. I really liked him and thought that the rest of the process would be like this, and be a great experience. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. Bryan said it would probably take about a week to get someone out. After two days, without hearing anything about a treatment appointment, I called left a message with a representative, heard nothing. I called back again the following day, and asked to speak with the scheduling department, but they won't allow you to speak with the scheduling department. I contacted Bryan , and he said he would leave a message with management and have someone call me and let them know it was urgent because we had a small child in the property. After waiting a week at this point, and still not hearing anything back, I attempted to call a representative, once again, and still could only leave a message and not speak with the scheduling department. The following day I heard from Bryan, the inspector, and he said that a Matt would be calling me that day to schedule an appointment, and that has been another week since that happened and I've still heard nothing. It has now been over two weeks since the inspection, and I still haven't gotten an appointment scheduled for treatment. If this is how they conduct business, I don't know how they will continue to be in business. I have already contacted a local company and they've come out for the inspection and treatment in less than a week. If you're in need of pest control, do yourself a favor and call A-1 Pest Control. They are a locally, family owned business and provide a thorough and professional service at a very reasonable price. They charged half the price of Bug Out, and actually got my property treated without a hassle!

Only the bait stations were installed. We brought this to our techs attention he said if we wanted to buy snap traps on our own that's fine he wasn't putting them down because they don't work for this type of rodent (rats). We went 4 weeks w bait stations and had a little less activity. We contacted the office asking for a contact to discuss why we were told they would use both bait and snaps and now the tech refuses to put snap traps down. We waited 8 days with no contact. We paid a total of 350 dollars to the company and had to buy our own snap traps. We out them down and in a week we are almost no activity at all. Was very impressed at the initial visit but every visit after left us confused as to whether our tech had even read our contract. They were always responsive when they want to schedule a paid visit not so much in between. In fact NOT AT ALL in between. Very disappointed as when we spoke to the 2 gentlemen at the initial appointment before signing contract we were very hopeful we would be giving a 5 star review as they talked really well and seemed knowledgeable. That was the extent of that. Our tech Robert wasn't very friendly and blatantly refused to out snap traps down after he rescheduled his visit b/c it was raining and he didn't want to get his tires and truck dirty even tho I had taken a half day at work to make this appointment possible as weekends weren't an option.. unless it meant the truck would get dirty.

Odd, and now ask yourself is it really likely they have almost a perfect score on google? I am filing this complaint against Dolbier Disaster Restoration (DDR ) for reasons that are listed…read morebelow. These events occurred while they were repairing our roof. A large tree limb fell onto our roof. It created holes in the shingles, sheeting and decking. The damages were covered by our home owner's insurance policy. The insurance adjuster allowed for replacing the shingles and sheeting on the entire roof and to repair the damaged decking. DDR was selected to do the repairs, they were provided with the adjusters' scope of damages--replace the entire roof and repair decking. I used the following terms to identify my view of the structure of a roof. Shingles are on top of the roof, sheeting goes between the shingles and the decking, we had two layers of sheeting, felt and titanium, decking are 4x8 sheets of wood that are attached to the rafters. The roof that was struck by the limb and authorized for repairs was one entire side of a gable roof. I happened to climb on to the roof and observed the roofers as they were working. This is what I observed-- 1. Approximately 1/3rd of the roof had been removed. The roofers were in the process of replacing this part of the roof. The balance of the roof was untouched. DDR was authorized by the insurance adjuster and myself to replace the entire roof. They arbitrarily opted to only do 1/3rd of the roof. Why would DDR replace 1/3rd when they were requested and authorized to replace the entire roof ? 2. I observed that the roofers were in the process of laying down felt paper. They were rolling the felt over a large hole. The hole was very noticeable- it was about six inches wide. A visual inspection showed the hole was also in the decking. The titanium was not present. It was very clear that the workers were going to cover the hole and not repair the decking. There were other holes in the roof. They had already covered these holes with the felt paper. There was no material on the roof to repair holes. It seems reasonable to assume that the other holes were not repaired-they were covered with felt. Later I found on the ground the piece of titanium paper that cover the hole, apparently the roofer cut it off and threw it over the side. It has a large tear where that the limb made I have this piece of titanium. I contacted DDR and advised them of this situation. A few days later a different crew arrived. They properly replaced and repaired the entire roof. A frightening thought --Without proper roof repairs, rain would continue to entered our home year after year. We all can envision the consequence of the damages this would have cause to our home. Thank goodness my 78-year-old body gave me the strength to climb onto the roof. I do wonder if this happened to a person unable to climb onto the roof, or assumes the repairing company would do what the insurance company felt necessary to properly repair their roof. Can you imagine what their life would be like when these defects was discovered ??? FYI, I've been in the property casualty and risk management insurance for over 40 years. My first job was a claims adjuster. I've worked with very honorable professionals. It is very difficult for me to imagine that companies can provide this type of service and walk away leaving the homeowner in a pickle while there were fully compensated. Thanks for taking time to review this matter. Regards, Tim Cummings, CPCU
