I had a very awesome experience with Cooke's Plumbing. Not only did they repair my clogged drain to the septic system but I also received courteous, considerate, and professional service from their tech, Nick. Nick educated me on what was going on with the septic system. But best of all, he gave me instructions on how to be proactive and preventative so as to minimize future issues. As this was an emergency call I was not serviced that same day I called, but I did not remove any stars for that because I was seen within 24 hours of my call. In my opinion that is professional service. Brenda, the operator was very professional on the phone and it was great to get a live person rather than a recording. I added a addition on my house they added a lift station that work for 2 months and I had a three year warranty that they canceled because they say oil was in there we never put oil in the sinks they put a very cheap pump in there. Absolutely terrible service. Called on Monday 3/3/25 for a routine septic pumping of 2 separate systems on the property (Not backing up, just routine pumping of septic to prevent issues) Spoke to Lexi over the phone and she booked my appointment and even added in the notes that I wanted to be home for the service and I was requesting whatever day had a morning appointment. She booked my appointment for Wednesday am and said they would confirm the appointment the night before which they did. Wednesday morning came and truck showed up at 9am. I walked out front to speak with the driver, Kerly, and he was nice enough to tell me the office had instructed him to leave my home and go somewhere else even though he didn't do anything there. (Making the customer feel that someone is more important and wasting their time makes for an awful customer experience) Kerly told me that another driver would come over to pump my septic and should be arriving soon. 3 hours later I called the office and they told me that I was in pending status and not scheduled so he didn't know what time I would be taken care of. Being that I waited home from work all morning I rescheduled it for Monday 3/10 for another morning appointment. They did give me $75 off to reschedule due the the inconvenience. Monday morning came and went without any text / email message confirming I had any appointment. I called again around noon and was told once again there were errors and she would reach out requesting answers. I cancelled my appointment and have been recommended by a neighbor to use another company which I will. Cooke's used to be a great company, however I see that because of their growth they have changed. I will no longer be using or recommending them. Save your time, use another company! read more

I am the first time owner of a septic system and was taken advantage of because I told them I didn't know anything about septic systems. What is a normal charge for a cleanout? Hired them to clean out my septic system and when I got the bill a few days later it was over $1000 with a $340.58 charge for repairs. 2 guys were here for about an hour, sucked out the system and power washed it down. I saw the empty tank, no repairs were needed or done. I called and left a message, asking them to check the billing. I got a return call and the guy told me he looked at the pictures and video and that my system was not repaired and he would issue a credit for that amount in a couple days. A month later after not receiving the credit I called again and left a message, 4 more calls no return call. Now I'm disputing through the credit card company. Very shitty customer service. I needed some plumbing work but they didn't show up to give me an estimate, good thing since I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. Should change the name from Cooke's to Crook's, buyer beware. read more

I am not normally someone that writes reviews, but after the AMAZING experience I had today, I felt I had no choice! They traveled from Martin County to Plam Beach County (north palm beach) to help plumbing issue I have been having for MONTHS at my father's condo! The technician that came was not only professional but extremely helpful! He went beyond what I expected from the service but showed me where the main issue was most likely occurring from and explaining it to me in detail ( since I honestly have no idea about plumbing). We knew it was an emergency and a holiday and paid without complaint and were given a 1 year warranty. 5 months later it backed up last night. This morning my husband called to have them come out and ironically they have no availability. He pressed them, and then was told they would come out for an emergency fee. I was a customer of Cooke's for 23 years. The person who came for the pump out tried to sell me a new riser lid which I did not need. Then he dropped my lid into the tank and said he could not retrieve it - blamed it on the driver's age that they could not hold on to it. I therefore had to buy a new lid. He hemmed and hawed but gave me a senior discount. He also did not want me to call the office. Said his manager was "at lunch". I am no longer a customer of Cooke's. read more

Shame on you!! Cooke's came out to look at my daughter's and son-in-laws tank as it was taking long for the toilets to flush. She meet them with her 2 1/2 year old daughter and 1 1/2 year old son last week. She is one week past her due date with their 3 child. The Cooke's rep quoted her $9,000 and said the drain field had to be replaced. She called us, her parents, hysterical. I gave her 2 other companies and they both gave quotes from $1200-$1400. The job was completed today. I have lived in town since 1983. I used Cooke's for our restaurant in Jensen Beach many times. Sam was a great and honest guy. Shame on you!!! I have had septic pump outs before and the lady in the phone quoted me a price of 350.00 so a guy shows up without the truck he's just in a van digs of the 2 lids and proceeds to scam me on how I can get 3 types of service he of course recommends the most expensive according to him the drain and clean the tank out to me I didn't see anything different that was done when I had this done at my other house and I did not see any cameras either for the 1, 173.86 They charged me nothing different seemed compared to the 350.00 job I had done with another company so I would not use this company again first of all he showed up in a van without the truck and I had to wait 2 hours for the truck the whole job took less than 30 min wish I could get some of my money back would not recommend this company to someone else! read more

I probably won't use these people again. I decided to try them out this time because they have so many reviews, probably because they're paying for ads on Google. But they were ridiculously expensive. I spent $925 in comparison to $900 with a different company that is very well known and has very high ratings as well. And they were only here for about 20 minutes didn't seem like they did very much, still a lingering smell in the house. It just seem like they pumped and flushed. They give you this whole song and dance about all the stuff they're going to do, but honestly I was much happier with the other company. The $900 I sent the other company also bought me a new filter and The fixing of a pipe that was broken on top of all of the stuff that this company "claims" they did. On top of that they made a huge mess of my yard. They haphazardly dug up the sod and threw it back down, Which I'm pretty angry about because I've been working on my yard and my grass for over a year now. Completely unreliable and inconsiderate. I had made an appointment with this company to get an estimate for a new septic system and some plumbing repairs. I live 45 minutes from the site. The woun't tell me what time they would come, only the day, so I had to just head up there first thing in the morning. When I was nearly there I got a call from them telling me that they don't service my area. They'd had the address for 2 weeks, but on the day of the service I guess they just didn't feel like making the effort, so what if it was inconvenient for me. I would steer well clear of this company unless you're prepared to have them change their mind about you appointment at their convenience. read more

I was recently on vacation at my family's vacation home, it's one of those places where family and friends take turns staying for the week/weekend, to get away from life. And I was the unlucky person who got to discover that the last person "forgot to flush", well at least that's what we thought. I tried a plunger and well, I wasn't very happy with the results, i couldn't get it cleared. But that's not all, turns out it wasn't just the toilet backed up. Apparently the sinks, showers & everything didn't seem to work. So I called a company and got a voicemail...called another who said they can have someone out tomorrow...and Cooks, who not only assured me they would make it out today, but delivered on their promise. Turns out I could have plunged all day and night but the septic tank was backed up. So the big truck came out, cleaned everything and everything worked again! Took a total of about 3 hours after the first phone call until I was able to relieve myself. As for pricing, was it cheap? No, but I'm not a cheap person. I've always been taught that even though things may cost a little more on the front side, there is a reason for it. I've also been a huge advocate in never using the word cheap, as you get what you pay for. I now have their business card on the fridge so whoever visits knows who to call. read more

We called Cooke's early this morning because we had issues with our drains backing up after doing a load of wash. They said they would be here today and would call just before they were coming out. They came this afternoon. William Stanley came out and evaluated our septic system. It was full and needed draining. He stayed until the truck came to service the septic tank. Everything they did was professional and all at a very reasonable rate. Very pleased with Cooke's and will use them again as needed. read more

Accurate might be cheaper but doesn't provide the quality this company does! Will was very informative,honest and hard-working. He took time to explain what everything was to a woman that knows nothing about baffle, drain lines, etc. He talked to my husband on the phone and answered all his questions. do not recommend Cooke's Plumbing, at least not by the present owner and/or manger at this time- which is November 2020. I hired Cooke's to pump my septic & give a quote on hooking up city water. They sold me a bill of goods and also did not give me a quote that day, or ever. When they came to pump my septic, I asked the worker to look at the inside of the toilet tank and asked if one gasket should be replaced. He said "Oh yea! Everything inside needs to be replaced, and in all 3 bathrooms- too!" I thought, "Well, if he's going to replace a $2 rubber gasket, he may as well change the entire inside." And because it's a rental (as he said), if you replace one- you may as well replace the entire innards of all 3 toilet tanks (while he's already out there). Well, after he left, I realized he HADN'T changed that gasket AT ALL. When I called Cooke's Plumbing, I was told they DON'T change the gaskets UNLESS they're leaking (which they were not). So, that worker lied to me. I paid to have the gaskets changed and they did not do that. They DID come out a second time "to make me happy" and SAID they'd change the gaskets. Well, they did not! Two weeks later, he original toilet began to leak. This time when they came out they took before and after pictures- and the gaskets in the before pictures are EXACTLY the same as my very first original picture. So, in the THIRD visit, they finally changed the $2 rubber gaskets WHICH I PAID TO HAVE CHANGED the FIRST time. God knows what they actually did in the second visit, my tenants tell me they were in the bathrooms for an extended period of time- doing SOMETHING- but they did NOT change the gasket. And, they never gave me a quote to hook up the water so I had to hire someone else. This is all so stupid, it's almost laughable. I don't know if these workers are out to screw the owner, but I can't come up with any other explanation. These $2 rubber gaskets cost that company plenty of money coming out 3 times, and of course all the neighbors on the street see how foolish this company is. It makes no sense other than sabotage. My advice to you is if you're going to use Cooke's plumbing; Don't trust anything they say- and, stand there watching them do their job. It's the only way you can be sure. read more

Apparently, this company and/or its employees have never heard of the Coronavirus! There were absolutely no safety measures in place for the protection of the customers- no masks, no gloves, no distancing and total direct contact with signature forms. Also the techs that showed up were unprofessional. They cracked the top of my septic tank getting the lids off.. And then instead of referring to the stuff in the tank as "waste", in front of my mother, they choose the word "shit.." I've been a licensed journeyman plumber for 12 years now.. These people are scam artists. I just bought a house in Stuart, and wanted to swap out the old rubber washing machine hoses with new, no-burst hoses to make my insurance inspector happy. This was purely preventative maintenance; we had no problems with the machine before. I know my limits, so I called Cooke's to have a professional come out and do it for me (along with a couple other projects around the house). I scheduled them to come out on Friday, March 26, 2021. The guy I called to set up the appointment wouldn't give me an estimate or any information about the hourly charges, which should have been my first red flag. Both me and my husband took the day off work to be here to meet the plumbers. We waited around until 4:00 for them to finally come by. They did the work, we paid, and they left. That Sunday, March 28, we did the first load of laundry after the service. Not 15 minutes into the cycle, we heard the sound of water gushing onto the floor. Our laundry room and garage had both started to flood with water because one of the hoses had come loose from the machine. I immediately called Cooke's and explained the problem. They refused to send anyone out unless I agreed to pay an "emergency service fee" of $180, plus the cost of any work. The dispatcher told me that if they determined that it was their fault, I wouldn't be charged anything. I agreed, and they sent someone out. The technician who came out told us that it was their fault - that the guy who changed the lines originally was a trainee and had neglected to do a test cycle to check that everything was reconnected properly. But, he said he had talked to his manager, Carlos, and Carlos insisted that he charge us the emergency service fee. Even though it was clearly the result of shoddy work on their part. Repair guy came out very quickly, was very courteous, but did not fix the problem. The first time their prices were pretty high for a pump-out and they were pushing hard for an upsell, I spent over $1200 for their "bacteria" and pumpout and cleaning the tank... a few weeks of toilet flushing later and the pump was alarming again. He came out and "fixed" it saying it was just a broken fitting and we might need a new float later on, (noticed later on the invoice that he claims I "refused" this service even though he never actually offered it to me- only told me that I don't need it right now) (he was nice enough not to charge for this 2nd visit even though this was not "under warranty" from the last time he was here and was the one who put the lift station back together :/ ) 36 hours later and our alarm is going off again. Cookes should be Crooks. I called yesterday and made a 9 appointment for this morning. They didn't show up until 3. I put new countertops on so I needed a new faucet a new Ro faucet and a new garbage disposal installed. We bought the materials at Home Depot. I was out of town so my wife is home she's Peruvian not real familiar with contracts or understanding business. So they had her sign something she thought she was probably giving him permission to work on our house. I came home my wife left to take my son to drum lessons. He said he couldn't install the RO system because he didn't have the fittings so he said he was going to come back tomorrow and he walked out of the house. So I figured I'd pay him when he came back tomorrow and finish the job. A few minutes later he came back in and he said well who's going to pay me you or your wife , I said it doesn't matter. So then he proceeded to explain to me that the bill was $1,180.00. he was at our house for approximately two and a half to three hours. I said you got to be kidding you're you're kidding me right. He said now I said well I have your own or call me tomorrow cuz I'm not paying you and we'll talk about how installing these three items cost $1,180.00. he told me that he was going to call the police because it was over $1,000 it was a felony for theft of services and he was going to have me arrested and place a lien on my house. I said go ahead and call the police the RO system is laying on the counter not installed the hose won't retract on my new faucet and the garbage disposal does not turn on. And then he was going to charge me more money to come back tomorrow to finish the job so what was it a 2000 3000 for $5,000 job to install a faucet and a garbage disposal? Absolutely insane and crazy and trying to take advantage of a woman who maybe didn't understand English. Beware that's all I got to tell you be where. I had a plumbing problem at one of my rental properties at 4PM Friday afternoon (today) I called Cooke's, and Marie C. answered the phone. She was so professional and accommodating and offered to have a plumber at my property today. Within 2 hours, I had a call from Justin. He was already at the house with my tenant and had already prepared a list of solution options with prices. He explained each option and cost very clearly and after my approval proceeded to make the needed repair in about an hour. Couldn't get a straight answer on septic pump out. I had them do the last maintenance pump out without any issues including an over-the-phone quote/ballpark. What is the big deal about getting even a ballpark of a maintenance pump out (barring any other issues of course)??? Doesn't seem like the same operation to me. These guys went above and beyond to help us. We had them come out to do an inspection for a real estate transaction. The price was competitive. The tech showed on time, got right to work and gave me a verbal, then a written report. He recommended some service once we purchased the property but wasn't "selling" at all. But here's the "above and beyond" part: The girl who answered the phone helped me do some research into the history of the system, and was very patient with all my questions, asking other techs when she needed to. Stay away from this company. Don't be fooled by the reviews either because the techs say if you leave a 5 star review they get rewards. I had them pump out my septic tank and pressure wash. Standard work. I was naive and did not research the pricing before agreeing to the price. I was charged $1,100. After being told by my neighbors that got ripped of I requested 3 bids for pump and clean from 3 other local companies. the highest price I got was $488. I asked the manager why they charge more than double the average and he said just the price of doing business. I can tell you almost everyone I talked to or had responses from on social media called the Crooke's instead of Cooke's. They are apparently well know for ripping people off. I hope there happy in the fact that they are going to lose thousands of dollars in business because they did not want to give me a fair price. Was told by my usual septic guy I needed a whole new septic system and field. He said the drain pipe was broken and the field was caved in. $7000! I called Cookes and Justin came out within a couple of hours, dug up by distribution tank, saw the lines were clogged and the cement tank was cracked and leaking sand and stone into the lines. He saw the broken corrugated plastic pipe and correctly identified it as a down spout drain and had nothing to do with my septic. Justin then called the company truck which showed up in under an hour and flushed out the right thick pvc pipe and you could see the field was accepting the water immediately. He and John went the extra mile and cleaned out a second, much older line, and got that one working again as well! Total charge...just $800! Saved me thousands, showed me everything and expalained everything that was going on, was super courteous and professional and saved my month! Thanks Justin and John! read more

On accident I called Cookes, and thank god we didn't use them! I called to have my septic tank pumped, and they send someone to come and see what we needed done and tried to upsale us. My husband asked him to leave because we told the girl in the office thats ALL we wantwd done!! They wouldn't send the truck for another hour!! And that was if the tech they sent out thought we needed it pumped. It wasted half of our day off waiting for the tech who was also a 1/2 hour late and didnt call to let us know. Please heed the dozens of other reviews here mentioning the high-pressure sales tactics used by the "technicians" at Cooke's (This should be a hint.). Wish I had read them prior. We too called for a simple pump out, but you'll be sure to receive a couple of knocks on your door to hear about all the "problems" with your system, which will ultimately result in a quote for a complete system replacement. We declined. It didn't help that the techs were working in the dark (after arriving so late in the day) and ruptured my sprinkler line due to careless digging. When I noticed the damage a couple of weeks later, the service manager dispatched a couple of technicians to fix the sprinkler head, who only made matters worse by cross threading the sprinkler head cap, which then caused 20 minutes of flooding the drain field every night. Accident? Intentional? Suffice to say, there are a lot of apologies here on Google from the company, but its interesting to note the same complaints over and over again as time passes. I suppose if your tactics of taking advantage of folks (who can be pressured, scared, and duped into unnecessary services) are working, why change your business model? Make no mistake - this is a sales company; not a service one. read more

Major backup caused by a broken cleanout that allowed roots to plug the main line to the street. A plumbing firm I used in the past couldn't get here within 8 hours. Cooke's responded within 1 hour. Mechanized snake clean out and removal and replacement of the cleanout fixture solved the problem. Would give them 5 stars but didn't because I thought the fee was too high.......but I suppose that's the price of quick service. Victor was thorough and courteous but was locked into the price of $451 for the cleanout and $250 to repair the cleanout. He didn't have the 4" Schd 40 pipe on the truck and couplings necessary for the fix (which I thought to be strange) so I went to Home Depot while he dug out and removed the broken cleanout. So my total cost was nearly $700 since I had to buy the pipe and couplings. My next door neighbor, who is a high end home contractor shook his head at what I paid........I should have called him as he has a group of plumbers and other tradesmen who would have done it at less than half the price. Overall, considering the entire house was backed up I still give Cooke's 4 stars for their quick response. I gave them the rest of the 10' pipe (about 8' worth) to help with their inventory replenishment program. P.S. I'm still waiting for the emailed invoice, will call them to expedite. read more
