Looking for a spot within easy walking distance to our AirBnB in Christchurch, we stumbled upon this small restaurant literally around the corner from us. It was quiet, but there were people there and the staff was super friendly. The menu was interesting - and in an effort to taste as much as we could we decided to share. We weren't disappointed! They poured a nice drink and remained attentive and friendly throughout our meal without being intrusive. Go for the salt and pepper squid, excellently fried and crispy. Followed that with the mussels, but asked the chef to please do a simple steamed which he did, no problem. I did the garden salad, amazingly fresh, lightly dressed and my partner did the baked market fish - on this evening monkfish - and prawns. Superbly done. We finished up with tea, coffee and the burnt cream - a lemon and almond creme burlee with a peanut butter cookie. Amazing. Would go back in a blink. read more
