Stopped in for a cold drink

Fun place to stop to take pictures and look around. I'm not much of a souvenir shopper but we did get cold drinks in Route 66 bottles that were delicious! I can see this being our must stop place on our way to or back from Oatman.

The famed pumps in front of the stone station. I bet it makes a beautiful scene at night!

Like Katie, I didn't go in. I just stopped to get a selfie with this important connection to the past. I'm 50 but I have pictures of my parents in their 20s stopping here more than 50 years ago. But it's been around far longer than that. That's what makes this place, along Route 66, so valuable!

This is a must see stop either before or after you venture through the Sidewinder! Jeremy told us some really cool history of the station. They have Route 66 collectibles, drinks and souvenirs. If you love the movie Cars (who doesn't?!) you've got to stop in to learn the history of this place!

Located on the fairly windy road a few miles past Oatman (if you're coming in from Havasu/Las Vegas area) is this really cool gift shop/keepers of an era gone by. I strongly urge you to visit if you're in the area for a water, a souvenir, to take pics or pet Pearl (the resident super friendly fur baby). And if you don't buy anything, they have a donation bucket. The couple that runs the shop is extremely nice, welcoming and willing to share their knowledge to those willing to listen. Note: If you're coming from Kingman, the route Google Maps took me to before Oatman Road should not be attempted by anything other than a 4wd vehicle (I think it was Apache Rd & Navaho Rd). Not only are they dirt roads, but you traverse over quite a few dry (I guess depending on the season) water/creek beds and soft sand.

Great little place. Lots of goodies to look at and purchase. Quite a rock collection for sale and Hand made jewelry. They also have trinkets inside the shop and hats, shirts, patches ect. The Staff is very friendly. Make sure to check out the memorabilia on the walls of the history of the area.

Really cute stop along the way, I love stuff like this!! Glad I pulled over and checked this out. I didn't go in but just looking at this place made me smile.

I love this nostalgic stop along historic Route 66. Outside the station is a page straight out of history. (and all of those Route 66 books) Inside - the walls are covered with terrific photos of classic cars that have stopped at the tanks out front. This is a fun tourist stop, with the rusty cars out front - I decided their "kicks" were long past. Several nice photo ops, for sure. The man inside is quite friendly and will sell you a coke in a glass bottle - just the way it should be in a place like this. There are Rt 66 souveniers and lots of snacks, fun memorabilia as well as a small museum inside. This is a very nice stop for the Route 66 enthusiast. And for any family in the area - like we were.

View from the trail looking towards the staion.

We stopped by here on our way back home to California and had an amazing experience. The caretakers (owners??) there that day were amazingly friendly and informative. Take advantage of the picnic tables and the hiking trail across the street. The restroom there is a port-a-potty but it is kept clean.

Great attention to detail. Love the stone overhang.

Quirky cool place in the middle of nowhere! The building has been lovingly restored to its former glory and the whole place is delightfully off kilter. I am regretting that I didn't buy any apple bacon brittle or some of the other twisted items that were for sale. Being greeted by a local burro as we left was icing on the cake! Would like to return.

    Rob W.

Definitely a fun stop on this Route 66 stretch through AZ. Mostly it just a photo op. Store wasn't even open this holiday weekend. Seems odd since that's the times the road would be most traveled. A few months back it was open when we came through. Not much going on inside anyway. Mostly just cold soda and water the way I remember it.

This place is Badassssssssssss. Way out here but worth it, take your kids, hide their cell phones and enjoy the quiet with a nice coke. This place is really cool for photos and checking out the scenery. I will for sure visit again.

Located just off Route 93 about 23 miles from Kingman, Chloride is considered the oldest continuously populated mining town in the state. The town itself is small but has a few places to grab a drink, browse for Arizona-themed souvenirs, and see some quirky roadside features--like an old bullet-riddled car. The murals are located just outside of town and can be reached via a rough, unpaved road. A truck or vehicle with good clearance is strongly recommended, and 4-wheel drive can be helpful. Trailers are not advised due to the condition of the road. Look for painted arrows on rocks to help guide you along the way. Once you reach the site, the murals are impressive and the surrounding desert view adds to the atmosphere. It's a quiet and remote area, and you may find yourself the only one there. Overall, it's a nice off-the-beaten-path spot that gives you a taste of Arizona's artistic and historical side.
