I arrived over 20-30 minutes early and left more than 20 minutes after my appointment time. No one was there. At one point a man came in and looked around and left with the water cooler when he couldn't find anyone. I called the office the next day to see why it is no one was there for my scheduled appointment and was told that I didn't look hard enough because she was there. Apparently I was supposed to wander through the empty space and its back rooms searching for someone? I was also told the provider "peeked her head out and didn't see anyone" (even though I was there for well over half an hour). I was also told I should have called. I should have called? I had an appointment so perhaps you should have been there. I've never had such unprofessional treatment from a medical provider. A complete waste of my time and really upsetting.

His first questions after I waited a month to see him was why did you come here? You could have gone to your primary care for care not here. I pointed out that I'm fairly certain my neck is part of my spine and since this is the pain and spine center (which I had problems with) that when they gave me a referral to see him, I figured this would be the right place. Now I know I have "classic Lumbar stenosis" but I was not ever going to find that out by using him as a spine "expert". I came to him after already having two rounds of P.T. I described my pain symptoms- sciatica pain, pain down the outside of my calves, toe numbness, thigh muscle pain, some buttocks numbness, sometimes spasticity in my feet. You can look up lumbar stenosis on any medical site and these symptoms will appear but they did not appear for Dr. Lefkoe. Ultimately it fell to my primary care physician to bypass the "specialist" to receive an MRI which showed conclusively that I had lumbar stenosis particularly in the area of L5 which would also be the obvious area to produce my symptons. When you have a bad back and suffer income loss and pain for most of a year and make no progress on dealing with this diminished quality of life and pay a good deal for this lack of quality care, you can only hope to dissuade others from making the same mistake. I only wish I could give him a score of 0, because that it the treatment I received.
