The best restaurant in France that I randomly found on Yelp! A true 5 stars in food, service, and…read morevalue. Since this place only had 3 French reviews, I wanted to write a comprehensive English one for non-French speakers so they can also enjoy this gem. Located in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois by the France/Switzerland border on the France side, La Table a Raclette specializes in fondues. Their options include raclette, reblonchonade, savoie, suisse, etc. For non dairy options, there are many meat items like hamburger, tartare, steak, salmon and escargot. Prices are also very reasonable (much cheaper than Geneva less than 15 minutes away). Our total was less than 50 euros despite ordering way too much food and drinks: ***decent wine list. We got local savoie wine and champagne for only 3-4 euros per glass! ***fondue savoie - I chose this one since it does not require a minimum of 2 people. A generous amount of 3 cheeses (comte, beaufort, gruyere), 7 huge fingerling potatoes, and a large basket of baguette pieces. Needless and sad to say, I only ate a third of my food. If you do not have a large appetite, this fondue is enough for 2 to eat. ***steak (entrecôte on the menu) with French fries, garlic green beans - there are 2 size options (300g, 500g). I think the 300g one is equivalent to about 10oz which I personally find enough to eat. Their medium rare is a true steakhouse medium rare with pink in the middle ***like typical French restaurants, you start with a basket of sliced baguette ***we also had small salads which were very necessary amongst the heap of bread, potatoes, cheese and meats All of our servers were very friendly but we only spoke French to them so I am not sure about their English speaking abilities. If you do not have dietary restrictions or many questions, knowing minimal French should be fine to order a great meal though. The restaurant itself is a quaint chalet style with a great terrace. Tldr; I HIGHLY recommend stopping by this gem on the border!

Amazing experience! I went there on a Friday evening with my…read moreboyfriend for a nice summer dinner and it was totally worth it. Friendly staff, beautiful terrace and great decoration. The food was exquisite! We had the Menu Terre et Mér and everything was perfect. The quality of the products used are very high, and most of the ingredients are grown in-house. Every single course was extremely delicious. Do not pass on the cheese here! They have a trolley with numerous cheeses and they are delicious. They also serve some little bite-size sweets before the dessert, which I found very thoughtful!

Last night we split a bottle f Pinot Noir along with four of the small plates. The small plates were larger than expected and we definitely could have only ordered 3. Friends had previously recommended the place and recommended the pizzas. To be fair, we did not make a reservation. So if you do want to go make a reservation. The pizzas are large and we split two pizzas for five people and had leftovers. Although our waiter was very lovely, the management seemed a bit rude. First insisting they couldn't move us even though there were many empty tables and our table had smoke blowing into our faces. It would make sense if we wanted to order something to grill, but we told them we would not be or it would make sense if the place was completed reserved. After asking again, we were able to move tables. When ordering we ordered two pizzas but were told we needed to order more items, which I understand if this was communicated to patrons prior, but this was not communicated until after we decided what to order. We ended up adding bruschetta to the order, but we had to ask it to be packed up to go because we were full from the pizza. The pizzas was decent and I would recommend the funghi if you decide to go. But I don't think I would return due to the over all service.

In the residential area of Onex, finding something open past 8pm on Saturday is really difficult, so this being open until 11pm was a life saver. The owners were great, very nice and welcoming folks from Hong Kong- being able to converse with them in Cantonese was definitely a plus! For Switzerland, the price of food was about what was to be expected- to give you a rough idea, my dinner for two came out to 53 CHF. Nonetheless, the food was great and was definitely authentic. If you have absolutely no idea what to get, you cannot go wrong with chow mein with pork or shrimp. Menu also comes with English and Chinese, just in case you're not fluent in French!
