He followed up that evening to let me know what was going on, and then the next day he contacted me again to explain that the starter that had been sold to him wasn't the correct one, so it would take another day. True to his word, the next day before noon, my truck was good to go. There had been some issues with my batteries as well, so he tested those and even put a used battery in to see if he could get everything working properly. Sure enough, it all came together just right. The entire transaction and every interaction with Gordon couldn't have been smoother, better, or more professional. As a woman, I've had plenty of experiences being talked down to about "man things." The old cliché about women being patted on the head or taken advantage of by mechanics unfortunately still rings true. I got none of that from Gordon. He treated me with complete respect, was straightforward with me about what was happening, and was friendly and jovial throughout the whole process. His fees were very reasonable and appropriate. They were very nice and professional and seemed to know what they were doing. We were told the truck would be out of commission for 8 days. On the 8th day, we called because we hadn't heard from them the entire time and were told it would be finished that day but to call before we headed that way. Called and were told the truck wasn't going to be finished that day after all. Would have been nice to get a phone call before we got halfway into our 30 minute drive. Truck looked great once we finally got it back but now we are having problems with the passenger side window, which has ALWAYS worked great. There wasn't even any damage to the passenger side so I don't know why they would even mess with it. But now it makes a "clunk" noise and sounds like it's cracking when it goes up or down and seems to fall into the door when rolled all the way down. I would say this place would be okay for small detailing and dents but not for big repairs as they seem to mess with stuff that doesn't need fixing to begin with.

On a vacation trip the week of September 29th, we were just south of Lyons, Kansas .......a-n-d…read moreBAM!!!!..... the transmission in our Tahoe went out! We were stranded in a pretty remote rural area of Kansas, hours from home and with no idea who to contact for help. We ended up being towed to Midway Motors Chevrolet of Hutchinson, KS. While waiting to get picked up, I called ahead to let them know our Tahoe was going to be towed in and spoke to Jim Turner, one of the service advisors. Jim was understanding of our travel situation and assured me they would do what they could to check things out and see what options could be. When we arrived and the tow truck pulled in Jim came right out to meet us and worked with the driver from Lucas Towing of Kansas, LLC, on the best place to offload the Tahoe. Jim then told me he had made arrangements for a loaner vehicle from the dealership that my wife and I could use to make it on to our planned hotel that night and could still make it to our scheduled visits to vacation attractions the next two days. Kelsie was the young lady in the office who then got us in a loaner vehicle that my wife would be most comfortable in. She was so helpful and friendly. After we transferred all our stuff from the Tahoe to the loaner car and finished some paperwork with Kelsie, I went back out to speak with Jim and he already had the Tahoe pulled in and Dillin, the service technician, was already starting to diagnose things. Over the next days, I received frequent updates from Jim on what needed to be done, the status on getting parts, and making the repairs. We were towed in Monday afternoon and thanks to Jim and Dillon, we were able to drive away Thursday morning. ....only having to stay one extra night in Hutchison than originally planned and we didn't miss any reservations or vacation activities that were prepaid and could not have been rescheduled. Jim, Dillin, and Kelsie, we will always be grateful for all you did for us. The Tahoe is running great now and we arrived safely home. Good Job! You all made a stressful situation much easier to get through than it could have been without each of you. Thank you.

They kept it for two days and then told her it was just going to be that way. She would need to buy a trickle charger to be able to drive her car. Charged her several hundred for this great advice. Then against advice from family she returned to Conklin due to her air conditioning not working. They kept the vehicle for 4 hours and would not give her a ride home as a courtesy. At the end of the 4 hours they said they were not sure but would order a part to fix it. How long would the part take to come in? She asked. They replied they didn't know and they had to order it from Amazon. ????? charge of $500 Took two weeks for the part to come in. They installed it and tried the AC. The service department told her they installed the part incorrectly and burned it up. They would be ordering another part at her expense even though they are the ones who ruined the first one. The second part only took one day to arrive. Odd since the first one took weeks. She argued the responsibility of her paying for the part but they would not budge. Cost $750.00 Conklin cars seems to take advantage of elderly people. She bought this vehicle at Conklin cars new.
