I was struggling comprehending Missouri law that pertains to estate, probate, will, etc. He was…read morepatient to listen to my concern, didn't rush, and quickly corrected my interpretation of the law. He was personable, caring, conveyed sympathy for my loss with sincerity, and then explained what is required of me, and the best efficient method to move forward (saving hassle and time) *with no benefit to him. I encourage all to call on RRL for estate planning. He offers easy scheduling online for a 20 minute consult date and hour that is convenient to you. He phoned must sooner. I have already pleaded with my best friend to schedule a consult for preparing her parents estate. Which proves Richard also has passed the best friend bar. Thank you Richard Russell. The peace of understanding I received after your consult is priceless.

Mr…read more Russell returned my phone call promptly, had paid attention to my message and had a good handle on the situation before we even spoke. He was able to very quickly provide me with additional information regarding a will that was being probated, over the phone, and provided a description of our family's options, and the possible outcomes. He helped me quickly resolve uncertainties in a difficult situation. This was our first interaction with Mr. Russell, but based on his response to this situation, my family will be contacting him for future estate planning needs.

I would absolutely recommend Mr. Todd Hawkins and Defending Your Family to anyone. I had a very…read moredifficult and lengthy family law case. Mr. Hawkins with his outstanding legal staff was able to deftly handle every legal encounter thrown at me. When both parties finally went before the judge, I watched a master at work in Mr. Hawkins as he brilliantly presented my case and triumphed in court, for which I am deeply grateful. This is why I respectfully call him "The Hawk."

Although their website explicitly states, "we offer free phone consultations," I was informed my…read moreconsultation "must be in person," so I drove 80 miles round trip for a 1:00 p.m. consultation offered through my EAP benefits--and walked out roughly 18 minutes later, shaken and appalled by the experience. I arrived at 12:55 p.m. to find the front door locked. After standing there waiting, I finally called the office at 1:02 to see if anyone was actually there. When I was finally let in at 1:05, I was told, "Mark's lunch is running late." Not a great first impression, but the consultation itself was far worse. Before I could fully explain my situation or ask the questions I had printed out to ask, Mr. Peron repeatedly interrupted me and kept pushing legal action I was not seeking. More than once, he aggressively insisted he could "file a suit against my employer today," despite the fact that I had verbally indicated repeatedly that I would not do such a thing. He incorrectly claimed my employer needed to issue me a reimbursement (not true in garnishment cases), and seemed far more interested in manufacturing a paying case than in listening, assessing the facts, or offering sound legal guidance. This was not a professional consultation. This was a pressure pitch for billable hours. I was talked over, rushed, dismissed, and treated like an opportunity rather than a person asking for knowledgeable advice. After less than 15 minutes in the office, I calmly gathered my things and walked out without saying a word. The office itself only added to the poor impression. It is rundown, smells strongly of mothballs, and does not project professionalism or competence. I will not return, and I would strongly caution anyone considering Norman E. Rouse, Collins, Webster & Rouse, P.C. to look elsewhere.

I believe I spoke with Norman yesterday regarding a construction dispute, and it was one of the…read moremost unpleasant experiences I've ever had with a lawyer. From the moment the call began, he showed no interest in listening. Every sentence I tried to say during the first couple of minutes was interrupted and nitpicked, to the point where I had to ask him to slow down and actually hear my situation. He was dismissive, rude, and completely lacking in empathy. I was calling during a stressful situation in my life, looking for guidance and clarity--not to be talked down to or met with an "I'll tell you one more time" type of attitude. If listening to potential clients is an inconvenience, then this may not be the right profession for him. What makes this even more disappointing is that the receptionist I spoke with previously was incredibly kind and professional. Unfortunately, Norman's behavior nearly ruined the experience entirely and honestly left a very bad impression of the firm. If you don't want to take on a case, that's fine--but say that upfront. Instead, I spent 40 minutes being spoken over and dismissed, which felt like a complete waste of time. I hope he sees this feedback and takes it seriously. People don't contact lawyers for fun--they do so during moments of crisis and deserve basic respect, compassion, and professionalism.
