Well deserved 5 shiny stars to this place.
We were walking around high st and Grassmarket looking for a good place that served haggis. Two of the spots recommended were closed or not serving food after 7. This place was right next to Starbucks, were we had stop for a minute. We decided to try it out since it looked super cute. They also have a menu posted right outside which was super helpful.
The place was full without feeling crammed or annoyingly boisterous. Our spot for two at the back next to a couple booths was so perfect. Gave us a bit more space and such a good view to the bar and entrance. Comfortable seating and such a cozy and chilled vibes.
Our host Josh was such a nice guy with such a cool and calm demeanor which we appreciated so much.
Bathrooms are squeaky clean and beautiful to boot.
The food was the best I've had in Scotland. I wanted to try Haggis, nips and tatties and they did not disappoint. Beautiful presentation for such a simple dish. My husband loved his salmon, which was pleasantly seasoned and so flaky but crispy on top. Also presented beautifully. The highlander drink was the smoothest and the porn star martini was a great company with the meal.
Finished with the Cranachan, a delicious, smooth and not over sweet dessert that has raspberries, honey, toasted oats, cream and a bit of whisky.
Sad we are leaving Edinburg this morning or I would come back for dinner again.
All the patrons looked so relaxed and having a great time. A must stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner while in Edinburg. read more
