The folks at New Era are quite the professionals and from what I've seen of all of the other shops in the area, I have to say thanks again for not being a complete arrogant dickhead like another shop that may remain nameless. I along with all of the others that came to you while we were in town still rave about the one true great experience in Houma. I guess I'd have to say my only regret is not getting more work done while I was out there because coming back to Cali I've got nothing but major compliments on all 5 of my tats. So again, thank you for your time and expertise. I'll be back someday soon to get the rest of my stuff done and even though I have to fly from Cali, it's well worth the trip. To anyone reading this and thinking about getting some work done, ask the locals first, then take a trip to the surrounding shops, then once you've guaged the competition, do as I did and go see the folks at New Era, you might have to wait a bit, but the wait is worth it if youre having something put on your body for life.

I immediately realized that my ear was pierced wrong & a few days later I realized my belly button was pierced wrong. On July 11th, I called the piercing shop & he said he can re-pierce me for free since he acknowledged that he pierced my belly button wrong. A couple days later I came to the conclusion that I can't trust him to pierce me correctly and that I would just like my money back so I called them again twice on July 13th and they kept declining my calls. I texted them to call me and the piercer finally called me back that same day. I told him I don't want to come in and I would just like a refund so he immediately refunded me and we got off the phone. After a couple weeks I noticed that the $80 has never been refunded and I see that he has indeed cancelled the refund. We agreed that he would be refunding my $80 but he slickly cancelled the refund. He charges using PayPal or Cashapp (under personal not business) so there's no way that I can get my money back. I'm pretty sure he does this on purpose so whoever is unhappy with his services and tries to dispute the charge aren't able to get there money back. Beware.

I went back there to get my second tattoo which was a memorial piece to my father who passed, a week or so later i realized that one of the pool sticks on the tattoo is significantly more pointy than the other on the same tattoo. Which is really a shame because I was so happy to get it. The second thing that I have to write about is the piercing experience. oh my god it was horrible. I have gotten a few very painful piercings done already at another shop such as a double forward helix and a daith. NOTHING could have prepared me for how much pain I was put in when I went to Monarch. I hadn't noticed that my upper forward helix's piercing had fell off a few weeks prior and i needed to get the piercing re-opened. This guy at Monarch pushed a DULL earring INTO MY PIERCING HOLE FOR OVER 5 MINUTES UNTIL IT POPPED BACK OPEN. no needle. nothing but a dull earring being pushed into my ear by a grown man with all of his strength. Then, he put a BUTTERFLY BACKING ON IT and it was so tight that my ear was actually swollen around it?!?! Then, he pierced my nose and when I mentioned I was scared he told me to "suck it up." Then proceeded to pierce it SO SLOWLY and left the needle in my nose for over 5 minutes then proceeded to give me the wrong type of stud to put in it. I am just fuming thinking about that day. Okay rant over. Don't go here tbh. Only gave it an extra star for the nice tattoo guy and the price for my tattoo.

When I first moved to Houma I had a mosquito bite on my face which got infected. I had an abscess…read moreunder the bite that was literally the size of a walnut. The Nurse Practitioner came in ( even though my appointment was with Grafton), asked me what was wrong and I showed her. She clearly looked annoyed. I asked her to lance it and do a culture, which she then wrote a script for an antibiotic and left the room, leaving me with a medical assistant who clearly didn't want to do it either, approaching me with a large wooden pick. She barely touched me saying she couldn't get a sample. I then got annoyed, took the pick and culture stick and did it myself. So, unless you want botox, filler or any other cosmetic work done. Don't bother, you don't make them any money!
