Used to really love Dr Brainard, but this place has just gotten worse over the years. It's a cattle call OB/GYN office. You can time your watch to how long the Dr spends time with patients. While waiting in your room you can hear the Dr entering another room, introductions then about 5 minutes in and out to the next room. They've always had open cubicles where assistants ask very personal history questions while weighing people right next to you. Some people are okay with that and some aren't. If you're looking for a check up, have no concerns, and don't mind the lack of privacy then this place is great. If you have concerns, need a personal experience, and prefer to answer medical questions in private then keep on looking. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Brainard, who I find to be an awesome gynecologist and amazing surgeon. She is direct, answers questions, and listens to concerns, fears, etc. (I am sad to say not all doctors I have encountered are this way). I have had issues over the last few years with an ovary that twisted and a massive cyst. Recently, I had an agonizing experience where my remaining ovary twisted and poured blood into my pelvis and onto my rectum, then hardened. Dr. Brainard operated, removing the two masses of congealed blood, my uterus, remaining ovary and my cervix. It was a complicated, 5 hour surgery, and Dr Brainard even called in another surgeon to help with the issue of unsticking my bowel. They hysterectomy part of the surgery was amazing- the pain management and techniques she uses resulted in NONE of the horrible gas pains I had with my appendectomy and oophorectomy. I am six weeks out from my surgery, and nearly 100% pain-free for the last 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for good OB/GYN The staff at Copperstate are professional, efficient, and respectful. They are being extremely careful in this time of panedemic to ensure temperatures are taken, masks are worn, and limiting the number of people in the office. It completely eased my fears about going into a doctor office during the times of Covid-19. read more

The front desk staff and medical assistants at Copperstate were very negligent and uncaring. I waited for 45 minutest to be seen. I had to keep asking why I wasn't being taking back when many others who came in after me did. I was told twice they were getting the room ready and it would be turn next, but again, others who came in after me kept being taken back. It turned out they took back the wrong person in place of me. There was no apology. When I finally was taken to a room the wrong provider came to see me. I had specifically asked when scheduling the appointment to be seen by Taber Bingham, as she was my provider previously when she worked at Desert Bloom. I've always appreciated Ms. Bingham's care which is why I made the appointment in the first place. I ended up leaving as I was out of time and needed to get to work AND I wouldn't even have been seen by the correct practitioner. Even though I really would like to continue care with Taber Bingham, the rest of my experience at Copperstate was so unprofessional and disappointing, I will look elsewhere. read more

Dr. Brainard has been the best OBGYN I've been to. With other doctors I always felt unheard. Or they didn't care Dr. Brainard never makes me feel that way! I just recently got Novasure Endometrial Ablation because my period were so bad she was the only doctor that listened and offered the procedure. The procedure was quick and almost painless (my period cramps hurt worse than the procedure) I was getting nervous during the procedure and Dr.Brainard walked me through it and calmed me down. Nurse practitioner Lori is the best! Pap smears used to scare the living daylights out of me, but Lori is so gentle and fast that I am less afraid each time. Lori does not make me feel bad about my weight or about my history of miscarriage's. In fact, she is super positive and upbeat about the whole thing. She makes me feel like one day I might have babies. She gives me hope. I've also come to her for other infections and issues and she's been quick to solve them for me. The only downside of copperstate is the front desk are busy so they have dismissive attitudes, but as long as Lori is at this office, I will come back. read more

Doctors here are great. However, you make an appointment and aren't seen until 45 minutes later. If you plan to go to this OB, I recommend freeing your schedule for at least 3 hours for a simple heart check and blood pressure check. We do not recommend. read more

I love copperstate. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They seem to really care about my needs. Dr Farias and Adrianna are wonderful and Eva is always so responsive. They always follow up with me and help sort out my insurance issues. There tends to be a bit of wait when it comes to appointments, but that's just because they are thorough with every patient. read more

I really like Dr. Farias. She is very sweet and easy to talk to and has a great bedside manner. As a first time mom though, I didn't know what to expect, what questions to ask, etc., and Dr. Farias doesn't give a lot of guidance on her own. We missed the first trimester testing options because I had no idea they existed and no one at the office mentioned them until it was too late. Also, you will wait. And wait. And wait some more. It's to be expected sometimes, but every time I come to the office (which is every other week at this point in my pregnancy), I wait an average of 1.5 hours just to be seen. The longest I've waited is 2.5 hours. Keep in mind this is for an appointment that is literally 3 minutes (fully clothed belly measurement). I can't make any plans for the rest of the day because I have no idea how long I will spend in the waiting room. My husband can't attend appointments with me because he would have to take off almost half a day of work. It's ridiculous. As much as I like Dr. Farias, I like my time even more. Next baby, I'll go elsewhere. read more

They will always double and triple book appointments. On top of that, nobody can see you if your doctor has to go deliver another baby, even if you've been waiting 45+ minutes with your toddler and husband for an ultrasound/initial appointment. Just lost my business for good. read more

I have been going to Dr. Dunn at Copperstate for 10 years now. Although there is often a wait (as there is with any OB I am certain) I wouldn't switch for anything. She is caring and straight-forward and I trust her completely. The OB nurse who works at Copperstate is the best! She makes me feel at-ease and explains test results and offers advice. And Dr. Dunn's nurse is always so sweet and always knows what is going on. Years ago when I started going there the ladies who worked at the reception desk would have lost a star for the company but they have recently been replaced by profession, courteous, kind staff. In my years and my 2 pregnancies I have also been seen by Dr. Farias and Dr. Weisert because they were the "on-call" doctors and felt very comfortable with both of them as well. Choosing someone to deliver your baby (or even to do your routine gyn exams) is a big decision but I recommend Dr. Dunn to everyone I know and no one has ever been disappointed. read more

I called Thursday afternoon and had a new patient appointment Friday morning. I completely understand that I probably filled a cancellation spot, but I was amazed at how quickly I was able to schedule a consult with Dr Addis. That afternoon Dr Addis' scheduler had me scheduled for an outpatient procedure the following Thursday. I just came from my followup appointment and I am grateful to have found this practice. I used to be a midwives only kind of gal, but I trust Dr Addis and have experienced first-hand that she is knowledgeable, talented, and skilled. The nursing staff at the outpatient surgery reassured me that Dr Addis is one of the best in Tucson. Just a heads up, the wait is a little annoying, but forgivable. Dr Addis is pretty quick with her appointments, so make certain to have all concerns and questions prepared before you see her. She's been doing this 40 years; I completely trust her (I work in the medical profession and have dealt with many providers throughout the years). read more

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Farias; I was surprised to find all of the changes taking place with this office. 1. They are temporarily being officed at a very old office building on 5th & Alvernon; I was a patient there when I was a little girl, at that time it was called Thomas Davis Clinic, so when I say it's old it is old... 2. I was very sad to hear and see that her medical assistant of many years Kami V. was no longer working there, all I can say about that situation is that they made a BIG mistake in not doing everything possible to keep her. She is an exceptional medical assistant, very knowledgeable, very kind, always made you feel special, always returned my calls promptly, and what I could see I believe that she and Dr. Farias had a great working relationship. The young gal working with her now does not compare to Kami. Why would you let a great employee go? Fools! 3. Front office staff were unorganized and I believe under staffed. 4. I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time before I was called back, it would have been nice to have had someone let me know so I could have decided to wait or not. Not a good practice! My time is just as valuable as Dr. Farias' time is. 5. I called to communicate my displeasure with the office to the Office Administrator Tina; unfortunately she doesn't feel the need or know the importance of returning calls so I was not able to verbally communicate this to her so I'm letting everyone know by writing this review. I have 5 valid reasons why I do not plan to return; hopefully the readers will think twice before making an appointment with this office. read more

Efficient and professional staff. Non-judgemental and trustworthy doctors each time. I saw two different Drs on two different visits and left feeling like I had not wasted my time, and feeling more aware and better informed about the health issues I was dealing with. This practice is amazing! Dr. Kazemi-Dunn is so easy to talk to and willing to listen to what you want, but will also tell it like it is. For example, I had a few things on my birth plan that I wanted to try--they weren't what she normally would do, but she was totally willing to let me do it or at least let me try, while explaining what she would recommend and why. She delivered my daughter and it was a great experience, I was lucky to have a "text book" delivery other than having to be induced. I've never seen any of the other doctors in the practice, but all of the nurses are very nice and supportive. The one downside I will note is that the wait time can sometimes be long. read more

Dr. Brainard is amazing and really smart! She numbed me prior to a procedure (which is not always standard practice) and I barely felt it.

I had an appt with my regular Doc Dr. Mulick. She has recently moved from Genesis to Copperstate. This was the first visit with her here and that seemed very fast, odd, and different, something didn't seem right. My doc quickly brought in an old ultrasound machine looked like from the 80's and an additional doctor Dr. Addis came in to examine 2 growing cysts on my ovary. Within 5 minutes they told me its 7 cm and we need to schedule surgery. I said 7cm, last I seen my doc a year ago it was 3 cm. I asked some questions as I was alarmed, and Dr. Addis was virtually non responsive, except for saying, "it must hurt, don't you feel pain?" I said how soon would I need this surgery? She said before the end of the year, which was within 1 1/2 mths. Things weren't adding up. I felt so awkward and uncomfortable with this whole visit, that I went and got a 2nd opinion from a highly credible doctor a nurse friend of mine referred me to. They did an ultra sound at a professional imaging center and sure enough the large cyst ranged only at a little over 3cms. The imaging specialist and the new doctor both told me it was stable and did not need to be removed and no surgery was required at this time, and we would check on it again in 6 mths. I felt this definitely was a non-necessary money push surgery before the end of the year. I would highly recommend getting a 2nd opinion before accepting any procedure or surgery with these docs! read more

I was referred to Dr. Brainard for a robotic hysterectomy and bladder repair after almost a year of pain and misery. She is absolutely the finest, smartest and most skilled physician I've ever known. The surgery was easy and I was sent home with an On-Q Pump for pain. I wish I had invented the pump -- it is brilliant! The pump dispensed numbing medication directly to the surgical site internally, so I didn't need any narcotic pain meds or have to deal with those side effects. The flow of the medication was adjustable, which gave me a measure of "control". And when it was empty in a couple of days, I pulled out the teeny tube and threw it away. If I had known that Dr. Brainard was this phenomenal and the surgery and recovery were going to be this easy, I would've had it done a year ago! Thank you, Dr. Brainard! read more

I LOVE DR. WEISERT! She's a god send and makes me feel so comfortable with my first pregnancy.

Dr Brainard started my Hysterectomy at 10:00am and I was home by 6:00pm. I received a robotic hysterectomy and was sent home with a On-Q pain pump. Dr Brainard explained the pain pump and exactly how it worked. I showered with the pain pump and it was so simple to remove. I never had any pain and my surgery was done 2 weeks ago. I would recommend this procedure! Dr Brainard is the best!! read more

The front office people are amazingly rude and incompetent. They tried to charge me more than double my co-pay. I knew it was wrong and left. When I walked in, no greeting, nothing. Took my paperwork and told me that I owed $185. My co-pay is $45. See care elsewhere! read more

I have nothing but great things to say about the care I have received at Copperstate OBGYN from Dr. Weisert and her team. I went to Dr. Weisert seeking a second opinion, and I am very fortunate to have found the right doctor. As a medical provider myself, I understand the headaches of insurance, and the office inefficiencies and communication breakdown that can lead to bad reviews. I am grateful to Milly for patiently explaining insurance codes and benefits so that I could look into the procedure costs, and expected out of pocket amounts. My only conflict with scheduling appointments was due to my own schedule and my limited availability, and the staff has been very accommodating by calling me back with times that worked for me. read more

I came here for the first time 20 min before my appointment in order to fill out the new patient paperwork. Before here I had primarily been seen at the AFB clinic, where we normally hand in the clipboard to our dr when being called back. So I'm sitting in the Copperstate lobby for 20min with the clipboard in my lap. The receptionist glances at me a few times. After 25 min I ask her how much longer until I'm seen. She then tells me that as soon as she inputs my info from the new patient paperwork that I'll be called back. She clearly saw that I had finished my paperwork and knows that this is my first time in this clinic. I do not like waisting my time. & this was a waste of 30 min. Very upset that the receptionist did not tell me to bring the paperwork back up. However once I was called back everything changed. The nurse was very friendly and the my doctor was even more friendly and relatable. You could tell that the nurse and doctor truly care about making their patients feel comfortable. The ladies at the front office are the reason I am only giving 4 stars. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Farias for many years now, including for the recent delivery of my daughter. I cannot say enough amazing things about her. Dr. Farias is kind, patient and gives you all of your options when making a medical decision with no pressure. There is typically a wait when you go to see her, so I learned to simply call ahead and ask how she's running - if she's behind the office staff will usually tell you, so you can adjust your arrival time accordingly. I don't mind when this happens, as when I'm with her I never feel rushed and always feel heard, which is important to me when seeing a doctor. I have been going to Dr. Farias for all my pap smearin' needs as well as for the prenatal care of my son. I've had nothing but a good experience with her (very laid back and willing to listen), and Cammie, her assistant, is really personable and efficient--she's called in B.C. prescriptions for me within hours on the same day when my insurance has been weird about when/where/how many i can pick up. Also, allow me to rave about their phlebotomist, Bestsy: never misses (I have rolly veins and am often left with bruises when others try to draw my blood), tiny needles, done before you can blink. These physicians have permissions at St. Joseph's and there are six of them at this practice. When I delivered Dr. Dunn was on call and I think that she did a wonderful job of delivering my son. All in all, I'm satisfied with this practice. Keep in mind that they are a busy obstetrics practice and there are often pregnant ladies and children in the waiting room. Reading materials consist primarily of maternity and baby mags so bring your own entertainment as the wait is often 30 min. + even if you arrive a bit early, as they suggest. Minus a star for that last, unwavering fact. Good thing their office staff is always friendly as well as efficient so as not to contribute to potential wait-aggravation. Like I said, this place is heavy on the obstetrics and prenatal stuff... Having been a pregnant lady, I know we're sometimes ponderous pains in the assess that take up extra time so the wait makes sense but still sucks. read more

I've been going here for a few years now... Dr. Farias is very good. She takes the time to really listen during my time with her. Also, her physician's assistant is a lifesaver. In some cases, they are able to call in prescriptions for you without having to come in for an appointment. Love that. There is often a wait, even for scheduled appointments...but the physicians are worth it. Only other downside is that it's hard to get in for last-minute appointments. read more

I've only gone here for well woman exams and other concerns not related to obstetrics but with the things I have been for I've found Dr. Dunn and the rest of the staff to be great. They answer questions and don't make you feel like they're rushing to get you out of there while still being very efficient. Last time I was there I left my prescription in the exam room and her nurse found it and put it in the mail for me before I even realized I didn't have of, which was really nice. So, I have had a really hard time finding an GYN Dr I like, I am very picky about who pokes around my lady-business. I gave this office a try and I was very happy! The office is very neat and all the front office ladies are nice and efficient. Dr Addis is who I see and she is wonderful. I was interested in switching my birth control methods and she took the time to listen to me regarding my concerns and questions. Dr Addis' nurse Kim was THE BEST, very attentive and treats you like a person, not a walking unconvinced like some medical offices. I ended up getting an implant implant with Dr Addis and the whole process was painless and quick. I really appreciate everyone in the office and when the time comes when I do need an OB I would definitly stay in-practice here. read more

This is the only doctor's office in which my blood pressure reads as normal - even if I have to wait a while in the waiting room. Every other office I've been in gives me "white coat syndrome" where my blood pressure is high due to stress. Dr. Dunn took time to listen to my questions and concerns, explained procedures in detail, and comes across as truly caring. I went to her for a second opinion and ended up switching to her as my surgeon. I have been very happy in the year since my surgery and the continued follow up and aftercare. read more

Bedside manner is one of the most important things to me. I want to feel respected, listened to, and treated with a kind, caring demeanor. Dr. Katherine Farias exhibits all of these qualities and characteristics and more! I know she is busy, and yes, there are sometimes long waits at a doctor's office, but that's life and if I was the one needing her immediate attention, I'd know she'd spend that with me instead of rushing off to the next patient just to keep a schedule. For the past 9 years, she's given me a quality experience. She spends time and listens. She is very calm and thorough. She explains procedures and details clearly and cares about ME as a person. Her assistant, Kami, is great, too! She is friendly, always cheerful and bubbly with great energy. She promptly returns my phone calls and makes me feel valued as well. I highly recommend Dr. Farias and this practice. I transferred from another practice because of not feeling cared for and I'm so glad I did! read more

I have only seen Dr. Kamezi-Dunn for a few months, but so far the experience has been positive. I found her caring and very easy to talk to. She did a great job with my surgery. When i called the after hours number the Dr. immediately returned my call ,someone even followed up to make sure that I had received a return call. The nurse also followed up a day later to make sure I was still doing well. There is always a wait so i try to make my appointments well before I need to be somewhere. But again well worth the wait. The reason for only 4 stars is one of the receptionist was not very reassuring when i was in need of some paper work. She just keep saying it takes 7-10 business days other people are waiting also. Really? could I get a we'll do our best to get this done for you......Truly that is my only complaint Dr. Dunn ,Rochell and the rest of the staff are FANTASTIC!!!!! read more

I went in today to get my IUD in and of course I was terrified because of all the reviews of Skyla on the internet. I went in, and Victoria told me how great Skyla is and so I went ahead and moved forward with it. Dr. Brainard numbed me first and then went ahead and put it in. I thought it would be painful, and I didn't feel a thing. She is the best! And Victoria is the most pleasant person in the world. Both of them make you feel so comfortable and the best part was NO PAIN! read more
