My name is Robert B. and on 7-31-24 I had a first appointment with Dr. David Mattingly DDS in his Brookfield Mo. Office. of McCoy Samples Mattingly Dental Clinic 626 W. Lockling Suite "A" Brookfield, Mo. 64628 660-258-3371 I had broken the side out of my back lower left molar. He took some X-rays and an he then proceeded to numb me up and take an impression to get a tooth crowned with zirconia a crown. All went fine with that visit. Fast forward to the morning of 8-19-24 I got call from his office. The lady said my tooth had not came in yet from the lab. She called literally twenty minutes before I was to leave for my appointment, and it takes forty five minutes to drive there one way. So she canceled my appointment. I had asked before to be seen as early as possible, as the affected area was giving me a lot of pain. My gum was all inflamed from catching food near the temp crown they put on. But, what can I do but wait without the crown that was being made? I drove into my third appointment today at 11:00 am I woke up at 9:30 am and turned on my cell. I see no messages from the dental office, but just the previous day they texted me to confirm todays appointment which is what I did. I arrived at the office just before 11:00 am. When I gave the brunette receptionist my name and birthday. She said that my crown had not yet showed up, and they had tried to call me (evidently not in the prior forty five minutes I was sitting in my home right before leaving for my appointment). So I proceed to drive to my confirmed by text appointment which is an hour and fifteen minutes from my home round trip. I then asked the receptionist why has it been a month and four days since my tooth was sent to the lab and no tooth. So I asked her for the name and phone number of the lab, so I could call them myself, to which she did not know. So she re-scheduled me for 9-17-24. Which (had I not cancelled this appointment and fired DR. Mattingly), would be one month and seventeen days in pain. At my request Dr. Mattingly called me on the phone today around 3:00 pm. Where he proceeded to berate me, as if it were my fault. Never once did he say he was sorry. And proceeded to blame it on my for not being more "understanding" as he put it. I asked for some compensation for my gas and time to which he refused. So I filled out his office form, to send all my wiles and my records to a new Dentist. He then informed me that after two missed appointments he called the Dentex lab today, and my tooth X-ray's and imprints never even got to Dentex in the first place. And if he ordered them today, it may be three to four weeks until they got my tooth back! I am sixty eight years old, and have been to a lot of Dentists in my life. But never one so pompous, rude, condescending, and full of himself as Mr. Mattingly, he told me to go right ahead and file a complaint so I am. He even had the audacity to tell me that he could call the DENTEX lab today, and expedite my crown if possible. Then he mentioned if he did so he may offer me a discount. Right after that he said "sounds like your mind is made up" (seemingly reneging on the offer) and told me I had a bad attitude in a sense, before hanging up on me. There is something called "failure to diagnose and treat", that he needs to study up on. Although I never once raised my voice or called him any names. He just seemed to have a problem with hearing the truth. I now have to wait until 9-18-24 to be seen by a Dentist in Columbia Mo. And probably another two week wait to get my tooth fixed "by a real Dentist" sometime in early October if I am lucky. All the time in pain since 7-31-24 due to the gross negligence of McCoy Samples Mattingly Dental Office, Brookfield Mo. 64628. P.S. Neither the Doctor or his staff asked me about my pain level today, presumably because they could care less. His office personnel must be DEI hires.

Today I want to talk about the staff, from the call to make an appointment to the second I walked out the door I felt like I was the only patient they have and they sure didn't want to lose me. I called to cancel/switch my appointment because my car wouldn't start and they set me up with another appointment 3 days later. 3 DAYS LATER not weeks or months 3 days!!! I walked in, checked in and waited all of 5 min before I was called in. I had my teeth cleaned and polished in no time and both dental tech and assistant were friendly, professional and made me feel comfortable instantly. Once I was done in there I was walked to the front desk and was not left alone until a receptionist came to help me book my next appointment. Also I'm retired military and they always make sure my insurance is approved prior to my visit which is soooo nice. CALLING ALL MILITARY RETIREES!!! The details...it's all about the details. I definitely recommend Kirksville Dental Group, Dr. Kice and all her amazing staff. Thanks for being such a great place to get my teeth taken care of.
