It was our…read moreday off from skiing, and we were later heading to the amazing Nordic Spa nearby... so we were looking for some lunch grub before hitting up the spa. I did a quick search for lunch places away from the ski resort, and I found this place in the Old Village of Mt. Tremblant (about 10 minutes away from the ski resort). It's a counter-service deli where you order from a (mostly) sandwich, soup, and salad menu and find a seat to wait on your order. On this visit, I ordered the Thai Noodle Soup with chicken, which was A+. Tony had one of their sandwiches and side salad, which he thoroughly enjoyed! (Their side salads aren't all lettuce salads; some are more like deli salads such as edamame salad, etc.) Everything was really, really tasty and filling, and I'd drop by La Sandwicherie again in a heartbeat! My recommendation = If you have a chance, definitely check this place out for lunch!

They also have a nice outside deck with tables. As for the food? Not so impressive. The sandwiches are pre-made and displayed in deli fashion. This was a turn-off for me and I like my sandwiches freshly made, but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker. I opted for the turkey and brie on a croissant, and it was un-memorable.. Certainly wasn't terrible, but it was very much a sandwich you can make on our own. I also got a side of cole slaw, which is made with celery and has an overall interesting look to it. However, it too wasn't great. I'd definitely go with standard slaw over this. This place was average at best in my opinion. Nothing stand out-ish about the food and patented sandwiches that are worth trying. Aside from the awesome deck outside and large amount of seating inside, there's no draw.

On this particular occasion I made it right around 11:30 am and I only had 4 people in front of me in line. The bakery is run by the same two people day in and day out, Rob and Anna. They can come off a bit standoffish at first but nothing could be further from the truth. Rob spoke to all 4 people ahead of me and even knew some of them by name and things going on in their lives. On this visit I had a cup of Chicken Gumbo and a Turkey Sandwich. The Gumbo was full of sausage and veggies and had a nice flavour to it. The sandwiches however really are the star of the show here as Chuck pointed out. The bread was so fresh it was still warm. And the turkey piled about 3 inches thick. I opted to add cheddar cheese for the bargain price of $0.50 bringing the price to $6 for the soup and sandwich. An unbelievable bargain! Not only would I recommend Riley's bakery but would consider it a necessary stop if you visit Cornwall. You won't be disappointed.
