1-Star Review: Very Disorganized and Wasted My Time Hi my…read morename is John Cacciatore I recently went to Gloria Drummond Physical Therapy for an evaluation after my knee surgery, and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing. I was evaluated by a physical therapist named Jorden, who told me I needed therapy three days a week for the next six weeks. She even chose the days and times for me -- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:00 AM -- and walked me to the front desk to have the appointments scheduled. The problem was that no one was at the desk, so she said she would hand the paperwork in and told me to call later to finalize the dates. When I called that afternoon, I was shocked to find out that they only had one single appointment available -- Friday at 11:00 AM -- completely different from what was planned. They had nothing available the following week except for one Wednesday. The scheduling staff kept contradicting themselves, first telling me they must follow the physical therapist's order of "three times a week," yet they could only schedule one appointment. Then they said they could only give me "whatever availability the therapist has each week," which still didn't match what had been arranged. This entire situation wasted my time, delayed my therapy, and put my recovery at risk. When you're recovering from surgery, every day matters -- and this level of disorganization is unacceptable. I'm very frustrated and want others to be aware: be careful choosing this place, because the lack of communication and scheduling problems may absolutely set you back. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but my experience at Gloria Drummond Physical Therapy was extremely disappointing and needs to be shared. After trusting them with my post-surgical recovery, I was met with poor communication, lack of professionalism, and inadequate care. The staff showed very little urgency or concern for my condition, and instead of receiving focused therapy, I often felt ignored and brushed off. What should have been a supportive and therapeutic environment felt rushed and careless. Their lack of proper guidance, follow-up, and treatment consistency made my recovery more frustrating than it needed to be. Patients deserve to feel safe, heard, and properly cared for--especially after surgery--and unfortunately this facility did not provide that. I hope management takes these issues seriously so others don't go through the same experience.

It is a facility which offers rehab therapy in several areas. Tradional physical and occupational therapy which focuses on orthopedics. Cardiac rehabilitation therapy. Diabetes education courses. A sophisticated wound therapy center which includes state of the art medical equipment, and a fascinating section focusing on neurological related therapy mostly for lost stroke patients. It also includes aquatics therapy with a pool and well quality therapists. I have benefited from therapy over an 18 year period. Most of my therapy has been PT, focusing on the cervical and lumbar spine areas, and some OT for a hand injury and several classes in diabetes management. I also benefited greatly when I had aquatic therapy. It was amazing to experience benefits to a long standing arthritic knee m. The physical plant has improved dramatically over the past 28 years. Due to a significant lead contribution from the Elaine J Wold Family Foundation the original "Davis Center" was transformed into the current rehab institution. The facility is large. Spacious. Well lit with a lot of natural light from skylights. High ceilings. Numerous private therapy areas. State of the art equipment which is well maintained, sanitized after each use. And most importantly, the institute is exceedingly well staffed, not just the number of therapists, but the type of training that they have had, and their level of expertise. It is impressive. I read one review where the reviewer focused on the length (number of minutes) of each session and how billing is done. Frankly, i concluded that this reviewer was either delusional of just an angry individual as what they wrote could not be tied back to reality. Therapy sessions vary from 30, 45, and 60 minute sessions. Thus, no one is "cheated" if their session is 30 minutes vs 60 minutes. It is simply a scheduling issue. And often the type of therapy determines the length of the session. And as to billing and misleading tactics, I find this difficult to accept. As part of the process of setting up treatment, insurance coverage is verified. And as a potential patient, you're informed what your "out of pocket" will be. There are no surprises. If you're surprised it likely represents your own confusion and not BRRH deception. This is an outstanding rehab facility. Well maintained. Immaculate. Spacious. Well managed. Good luck with your therapy!

After 2 years of being a very happy, proud resident at what was originally presented as a classic,…read morebeautiful luxury facility (used to look like a 5 star resort!), we are absolutely gobsmacked by the new "renovations". Clearly Federated did not invest in a luxury designer. They hired a budget conscience decorator or service that found the cheapest solutions. They just completely re-carpeted the entire common areas with the busiest, cheapest looking mish mosh of vomit carpeting that I have never seen the likes of in a luxury setting. Not only is it extremely disorienting and distracting to people already feeling unsteady, but none of it matches from one room to the next, no cohesiveness and zero design or style. My poor mother gets dizzy trying to walk on it, other residents have mentioned they can not roll their chairs or walkers smoothly on the extra plush textured carpeting. The common conversation amongst the residents is the incredibly tasteless design decisions made for this reno, this has upset everyone in the building! I refer to it as vomit carpet because one would not notice if someone was to actually vomit on it. It would just blend in. Assuming they wanted something that would not show dirt - they succeeded because it is so incredibly busy and distracting you would not notice anything spilled or stuck in it. Federated took all the class and luxury out of this gem and made it look like public housing. For what the resident's pay to live there, they should have invested in a classic style and not gone so cheap, modern and extreme to have mismatched patchworks of various busy carpet designs randomly placed every inch of the facility. If we had toured it today my mom would never had agreed to move there. Sinai Residences is no longer dressed to impress. Classic, stylish, and luxurious has been replaced with common, cheap and institutionalized.

I understand that no facility is perfect, and some hiccups are to be expected, but a few issues made her stay more challenging than it needed to be. Unfortunately, her dentures were lost on the first night, which created a significant hardship. Without teeth, she was unable to eat most meals, and the puréed food provided was thick and honestly unappetizing. I ended up bringing her soup each evening so she could eat comfortably. What stood out most was the clear difference between what felt like an "A team" and a "B team." When V, Jennifer, and Mark were on duty, my mother was well cared for--knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. Other staff members seemed less experienced and less warm. The facility is clearly understaffed; while some aides were wonderful, others were not particularly kind. Cora was an absolute doll, but she had far too many patients and not enough support. Teri, the concierge, was truly five-star. Any issue we raised was addressed promptly and professionally. The rehab team--both PT and OT--were amazing and are the primary reason we chose this facility in the first place. They exceeded expectations. Areas for improvement include staffing levels, consistency of care, cleanliness, and food quality, which was mediocre overall. With more support and better oversight, this facility has the potential to be much better, especially given how strong some members of the team truly are.

The bathroom was filthy and it was never cleaned. One day they left her covered in vomit. They do not treat patients like human beings. They have zero compassion, sympathy or any sense of morality. We are all scarred from this place and I would not recommend it to anyone. Stay away.

We admitted my brother to Banyan Treatment Centers for mental health issues, compounded by intense grief after losing his 8-year-old son. He was flown in from out of state, and the facility was fully aware that he had no local support system. We also made it clear in advance that he had recently undergone mouth surgery and would require smoothies or soft foods -- which we were assured would be accommodated. Due to flight delays, he arrived in the evening extremely hungry, only to be told that the only available food was cereal. During the admissions process, they attempted to have him sign paperwork authorizing methadone -- despite being there strictly for mental health treatment, not substance abuse. He later expressed that it felt as though no one actually understood why he had been admitted. The following morning (Sunday), he woke around 9 a.m. and was told he had missed breakfast. When he explained how hungry he was, he says he was treated as an inconvenience rather than a patient in need. No alternative food was offered. Later that day he was feel upset and light headed. This led to a panic attack -- something that had been clearly disclosed during intake. In a distressed and disoriented state, he stepped outside and accidentally locked himself out. When he realized he couldn't get back in, his panic escalated. He was crying and pulling at the door in distress. Rather than attempting to de-escalate the situation, staff called the police and removed him from the program, citing property damage. My brother has no history of violence. The responding officers themselves indicated he was not a threat and appeared confused about why they had been called. When his belongings were returned, his phone was dead. He was told he had 15 minutes to charge it and leave the property or face trespassing charges. This was a vulnerable individual, from out of state, with no support system -- effectively being put out onto the street. Before leaving, he briefly spoke with a director who appeared understanding and said she would ensure he received food and follow up with him. That never happened. To make matters worse, once he reached a safe place, he discovered that several critical medical items had not been returned -- including his heart medication for a congenital condition. The facility later claimed he refused treatment during the roughly 20 hours he was there. However, when we requested his medical records, we were initially told there was virtually no documentation -- aside from a $5,300 bill. Days later, we received minimal and incomplete notes that did not support that claim. We were transparent about his mental health needs from the very beginning. There should have been no surprises. He was sent there for help -- yet, incredibly, he never saw a doctor during his stay. Communication was also a major issue. Before admission, calls were returned immediately. After admission, it became nearly impossible to reach anyone -- even in the midst of this crisis. I have been trying to contact the director for weeks, and my calls have gone unanswered. This experience was deeply upsetting. In our view, the facility failed to provide appropriate care, compassion, or basic support to a vulnerable patient in crisis. For context, my brother entered a different treatment program six days later and is now doing very well. He has repeatedly shared how drastically different -- and better -- his current care experience has been. Please proceed with caution.

Unfortunately, the CNA staff was subpar and, at times, outright abusive. My elderly mother was admitted and, within just two days, was given incorrect medication that made her seriously ill. We had to request her discharge immediately for her own safety. The administrative staff was equally disappointing -- unhelpful, unknowledgeable, and more interested in blaming one another than solving urgent patient issues. It was clear that they accepted a patient they were not properly equipped to care for, which put her health in jeopardy. She was left sitting in vomit for over 1.5 after she called for assistance and no one came to help her. A formal complaint is being submitted to the state, including full documentation of their actions and the neglect and mistreatment my mother experienced. Families with fragile or medically complex loved ones should exercise extreme caution before considering this facility
