just an FYI--if you have an elbow injury, you really should be getting therapy from a hand therapist who has experience with that "tricky" joint. Surgeons and PTs should be advising that, but many surgeons don't know as much about PT as they should and business models discourage some PTs from referring potential patients elsewhere. Despite issues with overbooking (perhaps more of an issue in-season) and poor transition when a therapist goes on leave, I think PTI is probably a good place for lower extremities rehab, but you'll probably be better served elsewhere if you have elbow, wrist, or hand injuries. read more

The Physical Therapy Institute in Delray Beach gets 2 thumbs up. I completed 12 physical therapy sessions with Erin, one of the physical therapists, for shoulder pain/stiffness. It was a terrific experience with great results. Erin Mack, DPT, is a pro! I was extremely impressed by Erin's knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology, as well as her compassion, dedication, and sense of humor. Every session was extremely "hands on" and the other therapists, assistants and staff work seamlessly as a team, and I got to know them all. It created a warm atmosphere I looked forward to attending. My only regret about the Physical Therapy Institute and Erin it is that I did not know about them sooner. I self referred to this Institute based on yelp reviews. Seems odd for me to of done that and not gone to the doctor first and have him or her recommend a center. However, I was confident that based on the yelp reviews, I was going to have a good experience. I was not disappointed and made significant progress thanks to the attention and professionalism of Dr. Mary who is treating me for a rotator cuff injury and my hips. Dr. Mary works very closely with your particular problem and will actually devise new therapies based on your progress and is willing to make changes along the way. She's conservative in her treatment and hugely effective! The care and follow up that I received at the front office is also fantastic. Haley greets. you with a smile , despite her face mask, and is always very attentive to your next appointment. It's nice to have a smile that you can see through her eyes. I feel valued and well cared for by Physical Therapy Institute staff all of whom know you by name and, if need be, step in when your therapist is not available. I highly recommend Physical Therapy Institute to anyone looking for exceptional physical and occupational therapy! They have great equipment, lots of space, and use all the CDC protocols for cleanliness. read more

The physical therapists are very good, but the room is carpeted, crowded many times, and not very well ventilated. Additionally, the equipment was not wiped down from one patient to another. This was very concerning. Many times you have full body contact. I did speak to someone at the front, and for the that day, everything was wiped down, but I got the cold shoulder from one of the young ladies responsible for wiping things down. After that day, hygiene if equipment was so-so. To sum up, good PT in a place with so-so hygiene. read more

I have been seeing Dr Eren Mack for the past two months. She is very patient answering all questions and gets back to your calls asap. She is also very knowledgeable about all aspects of physical therapy including time spent in previous jobs with patients that have neurological problems. Eren is up beat and writes copious notes keeping track of her patient's progress. It appears to me that all the therapists and assistants (Anna and Darius) at Physical Therapy Institute are kind, conscientious and knowledgeable. They all wear masks and tables are separated by a screen and cleaned for each new patient. Many of their tables can be lowered for easy access. They do have private rooms as well. I walked into this facility with no recommendation and no knowledge. Being familiar with physical therapy from previous recoveries I was looking for a close location to minimize my travel and PTI is located in my neighborhood. It's therapy in one large room with tables and machines on the perimeter and bars and work space in the center. The secret sauce are the dedicated therapists who run the circus. I liked all of them and I was lucky to get assigned to work with Erin. We worked well together, and I benefited enormously from that. I did the work under a well trained professor while she coaxed more out of me with each repetition of each exercise. The front staff is super friendly and efficient. They follow all Covid protocols. I have had nothing but positive experiences at PTI. They always greet you with friendship, kindness and respect as though you are family, right when you walk in the door. They have done an amazing job during the COVID pandemic to keep the facility clean and comfortable to everyone to be in. They are the only medical facility I've been in recently that practices social distancing and cleaning after each patient, even in the waiting room! The therapists care beyond belief knowing the ins and outs of every patients treatment down to the finest detail. I was able to get physical therapy at the Physical Therapy. Institute in Delray Beach Fl, I appreciate their attention to detail and expertise in treating my knee. I had a full knee replacement. I have chronic back pain and finally learned that my insurance will support my Graston massages! Mary is a very talented and educated massage therapist and physical therapist! She is very patient and answers every question I have above and beyond. She is not as aggressive as my previous masseuses, which is great because she doesn't leave bruises and harsh marks on my body. I was pleasantly surprised how well my first appointment with Krystal went. After being in a cast for almost two months for a broken ankle, I wasn't sure I'd be able to get a range of motion or to take my first "baby steps". My ankle muscles were really stiff but by the end of my appointment, Krystal helped loosened it up and I was able to walk on both feet supported by crutches. She was also very thorough with her assessment of my ankle and advising me on what I need to do for my recovery. The PTI staff were also very welcoming and helpful. The team at Physical Therapy Institute in Delray Beach is amazing! I came to them with a complex knee injury and they studied the orthopedic surgeon's script and put together a comprehensive strengthening and stretching program. Within a few weeks, I was pain free and back on the tennis court. Ira and Josh are great listeners and adjusted the rehab program as we went along to make sure I made good progress. They really care about the well-being of their patients and the quality of the service they are delivering. DELRAY LOCATION: I started going to PT after being and was thrilled that it had good reviews. Although the therapy I was getting was working, I found dealing with Krystal was becoming increasingly painful. There's a saying that goes, "Is not what you say, but how you say it." Ms. Krystal does not speak; she shouts. She reprimands, and she talks down to the patient (my personal experience). Her sarcasm is not funny or professional. She comes across as a frustrated power struggling individual having a tantrum--her way of the highway attitude. Until the last second, she argued with me in front of staff members and other patrons. This individual needs training in patient care and professionalism when addressing the patient. No one, especially in the medical industry, and in today's uncertain world, should be treated with the lack of respect and aggressiveness that this individual treated me. I had to ask her to lower her voice and for us to speak in private because she was getting out of line. Including talking "over me." I had to ask her to "allow me to speak" because she kept arguing with me. It's almost like she's arguing comfortably in the privacy of her home--total lack of professionalism. The previous appointment I attended, they claimed I did not pay for the visit because their system was down. Today, I paid for both therapies. When I requested my money back for today's visit, I was credited for both days (I noticed when I got home). To show good faith, I called them and offered to pay for the one last visit. Kristal come back the answer was "no, I know what I did, let's just call it even." I have no words. I'll assume she's the owner, and she can give away free service when she knows she's done wrong and lost business. As a suggestion, Krystal should remember the following. Physical Therapy code of ethics: A set of seven core values guides physical therapist practice: accountability, altruism, compassion/caring, excellence, integrity, professional duty, and social responsibility. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE THE SUPERVISOR. PLEASE SET A GOOD EXAMPLE. Practice the Golden Rule. "Treat others the one you want to be treated." In fairness to this business and the rest of the staff, Krystal's daily behavior should not impact the rest of the team. Caitlin is a great ambassador when you arrive. Cathy wears many hats, and it's a positive, hardworking individual with a great disposition. read more

The therapists all seem to know all the clients names and needs and someone is always there to help, give support and assist. When you first start physical therapy you just don't feel like yourself. My physical therapist, Becky is absolutely amazing. She cares about each individual patient ensuring each works hard yet safely. This not only goes for her but as well for the rest of the staff whom make you feel welcome and encourage you even if the therapist is not your own. From the therapist working on the patients to the front desk employees, everyone is absolutely the sweetest and has your recovery process as their top priority. Receiving physical therapy twice a week I look forward to every visit every time knowing that I'll be having a fun time while recovering at the best pace possible. I used the institute for several weeks. I thereafter left town and continued my pt at the office of another provider. At pti, I got about 10 to 15 minutes of one on one time during the appt. Ten or more minutes was spent with heat and a similar amount with ice. I was assigned to do exercises I could have done at home after being shown how. The exercises were done while the therapist was working on another patient. At my current pt office, I get one on one time with my therapist for a half hour. He then leaves me to do some new exercises he has taught me and to get ice. I am only charged for a half hour. At pti, I believe I was charged for an hr per visit. While I asked for a report to give to my new therapist, it was not forthcoming during the next two weeks and I gave up. The facility is overcrowded and I sometimes had to wait for a therapy table during my appt time.There is no comparison between my current experience and my experience at pti. read more
