From the moment he was admitted, it was clear that cleanliness and basic standards of care were not a priority. The hallways and patient rooms were consistently dirty, creating an environment that felt unsafe and unfit for recovery. Nurses and CNAs were rarely available, and when we raised legitimate concerns about my grandfather's well-being, we were met with dismissive attitudes and hostility rather than compassion. Our family visited daily--not out of comfort, but out of necessity--to make sure my grandfather was alive and receiving even the most basic attention. No family should have to live with that kind of fear when entrusting a facility with their loved one's care. And if you scroll through the reviews, you'll notice a flood of suspicious 5-star ratings clearly coming from their own employees. That says it all. Instead of fixing the systemic issues in patient care, this facility seems more interested in propping up its reputation online than actually improving the treatment of vulnerable residents. Salem Health & Rehab should be held accountable for the neglect, lack of professionalism, and complete disregard for both patients and their families. I would strongly caution anyone considering this facility--your loved one deserves far better.

I understand that collecting urine samples is probably nobody's dream job, but, it's still your job. You can make at least minimal effort to make your customers (somebody is paying you for my employer drug test even if it wasn't me personally) feel, if not welcome, then at least not UNwelcome. We don't have to be friends, but, maybe don't act like I've committed a crime by showing up for a mandatory pre-employment drug screening. Also, people with disabilities exist and it's 2021, the ADA was passed 30 years ago. At the intersection of healthcare and employment, there is simply no excuse for being unprepared for people with disabilities or to treat those disability accommodations like a personal affront. Mainly, everyone here probably needs a career change right bow because they are very clearly burned out and passing that on to their clientele.

I went to this " Orthopedic" specialty clinic because i had an acute groin injury from Kickboxing…read morethat wasn't getting better. The appointment and check in people, wonderful!! The orthopedic nurses aid and Physician Assistant i saw, awful. Either the PA Maggie Dent was floridly " unsmart" and lacked the where with all to seek input from her MD colleagues, or she purposely withheld diagnostic , and physical exam treatment . The PA refused to hear anything i told her about my injury and suspicion of a tear of something from kickboxing, did not do a visual or physical inspection of acute area, kept referring to my complaint as my ' hip' pain, even after i corrected her at least 5 times, not my hip my groin. Her diagnosis and treatment option she gave me were 1) hip replacement, or 2), referral to Rheumatology. She assured me nothing was torn and refused to consider MRI to be certain. . SO I went to a sports orthopedic in Fairfax, he ordered MRI , my diagnosis is multiple tears of surrounding muscle tissue, and treatment he sent me to Physical Therapy. Adductor tears. If anyone reading this has anything wrong and needs care, be very wary and do not hesitate to get 2nd opinion outside of the carilion system.
