This is a new facility for FOI and it sure is extremely modern! This is my first time to this…read moreoffice. I found it to be spotless and very, bright! I had X-rays taken and it was done extremely fast with no waiting. Then I was brought into an examination room where I waited for 1/2 hour in an extremely warm room. I thought to myself that there was definitely no air-conditioning working. When the nurse came in I asked her and was told it wasn't working. I was treated by Breanna Wells the Nurse Practitioner and she was lovely and extremely thorough!

The office administrative staff - across the board - are borderline rude, complain about patients in front of other patients waiting for appointments, and just seem to be there to collect a paycheck. Not a good atmosphere for patients in pain coming for kind or compassionate care. Feels more like a "cattle" processing plant. Lastly, they do not engage in transparent billing practices. It's a real chore to see charges or to be informed about charges accrued, but they are aggressive to have you to pay blindly without any explanation of charges. Desk staff have no access to detailed billing or ability to print this for patient HSA purposes.

After having cancer twice, I have a lot of chronic pain from different treatments. Learning to…read moremanage all my pain and all the different options has been super challenging. Even worse, has been finding kind, caring and empathetic doctors, nurses and everyone involved with your medical care. Luckily for me, I found Florida Pain Group. This location is the BEST!!! When you come in, you are greeted, processed easily and off to see the doctor. I will be the first person to admit, sometimes you will have a long wait. Totally WORTH IT. I understand how frustrating it is to sit for an hour waiting for your appointment, they do have really great wifi and I just plan on being there for a couple hours. Sometimes, it's only 20 minutes. The Staff and Dr. Stone care about how you feel and what you need. I have read the other reviews, it's true, they are limited by insurance, state regulations and even you. They manage to handle all those problems with care and tirelessly. If you need pain management, call and make an appointment. Do understand they have to manage your care and that doesn't always mean narcotics.

Dr. Ramirez is a very non-pretentious and humble man. His knowledge is on the "next level", this is…read moreonly exceeded by his experience and skill. He is trusted by recognizable athletes to treat their chronic pain issues but doesn't advertise this fact with sports jerseys throughout his office as you may have noticed around insecure doctors offices. He treats all of his patients with the same respect and you feel as if YOU are his star patient. His office staff is courteous and helpful. Do NOT see him if you are looking for "pills" and intend to "shop" for a suitable physician to feed your addiction (I suspect this is the reason for some lower ratings). He uses floroscopy while a general anesthetic is given by the Anesthesiologist (Dr. Blackshear, we share a sense of humor. Ask him when was the last time he passed gas :-] ) to tackle the problem at the "root" by nerve blocks in several varieties as well as Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA-the thermal destruction of nerves/roots) . His pre/post operative nurses (both experts at getting difficult IV sites) and other surgical assistants are accurate and very well trained and all are kind as is the doctor. If it is indicated, he may prescribe medication but is very conservatively, using his judgment, always attempting to back away from Narcotic Analgesics where possible. Not to worry, he will not leave you in pain though. Pain is relative and subjective, a point not lost on the doctor or his assistant that you may see for follow-up visits. He treats you as an individual and is not in a hurry, so occasionally an extra wait time will be noted (perhaps another reason for the some complaint). I want a doctor who is not in a hurry, who is willing to talk with me irregardless and is deeply concerned with improving my quality of life. He has made such a difference in my life that, though he is reimbursed, I personally owe him a debt of gratitude (as does my wife, immediate family and close friends) that no dollar value can be assigned to it. In my day, I worked very closely with physicians and they are not built equally. Bedside manner is definitely noted from Dr Ramirez, plus I think he might be scared by pain at a personal level, having been fortunate enough not to have first hand knowledge of it (just kidding, he's not a big wuss). I hope this helps anyone who values the opinion of a patient who has been under his care for over five years. Be sure to choose wisely, I know that I have. Thank you all at Intervention al Pain Management.
