Then I released my begging and desperate pleas for an ASAP appointment - I was enduring a lot of pain and while I did know that I needed to see a Neurologist, I did not know that he would be the ONLY doctor I needed to see. I have seen a number of different medical personnel over the past 3 days, and hardly any of them listened to what I had to say. Dr. Henkel was magnificent. He actually took the time to listen to my description of my painful symptoms and did not dismiss my questions with esoteric explanations, as many other physicians have done. He involved me in his diagnostic thought process as he narrowed the medical possibilities. He took the time to examine the radiological images that I brought with me to the appointment and shared his professional thoughts on the images while allowing me to view them side-by-side. Dr. Henkel treated me like an educated human being, and did not dismiss my concerns at all. Together we were able to discern the particular disorder that I have been enduring for the past several days. In sum, I am grateful to have met Dr. Henkel. Credit is also due to Neurological Specialties personable nursing staff, as my particular nurse was very funny and comforting during the initial data collection process. It was also nice to pay the copay at the END of the visit - many offices are forcing patients to pay the fee before they've even been treated. Neurological Specialities as a whole is an excellent facility.

If the patient does not continue therapy at home there is no point. These physical therapist at FOI are amazing, kind, patient, understanding, but also always pushing the patient to reach greater achievements with their rehabilitation. I appreciate all the specialists, therapist, doctors at FOI. Im 9 weeks post a total wrist replacement surgery, while it was difficult the first month, now that I'm in therapy things have been moving along well and I'm grateful for the process. Be a good patient and do your homework and physical therapy! Don't blame someone else for your failure to commit to the process.

He explained in detail what needed to be done and how he would proceed. He performed a Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) and decompression. I went to 5 different doctors, including the Mayo Clinic, and no one was able to help me until Dr. Sanders. My foot was extremely messed up-being unlevel on the ground and having deformities from my birth defect. I met Dr. Sanders after 3+ months of improper care, by another surgeon in my home town of Fort Myers which resulted in a non-union of my compound ankle fracture. Dr. Sanders reviewed my case and exuded confidence that he could restore my leg. When prepping for the first surgery, the nurses all noted that I had found the right surgeon and started touting his accolades and experience. My care required six surgeries which included a bone graft to replace over 2 inches of degraded tibia, caused by infection from 3 soil-based bacteria. Dr. Sanders even rearranged his schedule on multiple occasions, to perform 2 of the surgeries, since I was not a local patient. At one point, when we were exhausted from treatment and considering amputation, Dr. Sanders pleaded not to give up, as he refused to give up on me. 14 months after my fall, I was restriction free on my way to restored life thanks to Dr. Sanders. Dr. Sanders strives to achieve perfection from day 1, but that does not mean it will be quick. He does things the right way which requires time and patience.
