I had no idea that Cordial and Craft had a Yelp page! I'm even more bummed that I didn't think to add one. How can I be the ambassador for Yelp in Asheville when I'm not thinking outside of the box of things to review! Cordial and Craft is seriously righteous. Being that I live in Asheville, I attend a lot of weddings. I don't know if that's because something in the air here makes people want to get married, or perhaps it's just this sort of band wagon thing... like, HEY! Our friends are getting married, we should get married! I mean look, I got married! What's even crazier is that people come to Asheville to get married and throw awesome weddings that they can post all over instagram because they look so damn cool and everything is perfect and it's got that wonderful and charming handmade rustic class. So yeah, I think I'm up at about 5 to 6 weddings a year, which is great. But when I spot the bartenders of Cordial and Craft as I approach a wedding reception I'm ready to high five everyone within a 30 foot radius. When it comes to charm, class, and presentation nothing beats the bartenders from Cordial and Craft. I'm having a tough time even figuring out how to communicate just how great they are. You know those pictures you see on pinterest of drinks that make your mouth water, that have been custom designed for the event, with cute straws and beautiful colors? That's what we're talking about here. When you go to a wedding that has chosen Cordial and Craft to provide their bar program for the evening it's basically a sure fire sign that the event planner/bride and groom/venue has put great thought and care into each element of the event. Call them mixologists, call them craft cocktail masters, call them friends, just make sure to call me a cab because after a wedding reception with this wonderful company I'm not driving home. read more

Cordial and Craft was the bartending service our daughter chose for her wedding. Heidi and Lexie were great - from serving beer, wine and mixed drinks of all kinds. Our daughter and new Son-in-Law also chose a few speciality drinks as well - which they served to everyone's enjoyment. At the end of the evening - they even created a special drink that they named in their honor. We did supply our own alcohol but as the day drew near I knew we wouldn't have time to get all the fruit, mixers, etc. I called Heidi the day before the wedding and she was willing to do that portion for us and collect the costs at the venue the next day. These ladies were so pleasant to work with - everyone commented on what great service. So so happy with my experience! My parents and I worked with Heidi as a day-of planner for my wedding at Yesterday Spaces on 8/14/16. I am a Project Manager at my job, and was extremely impressed by Heidi's attention to detail, attentiveness, responsiveness, and positive attitude. She has a ton of knowledge about events and weddings and helped mine run very smoothly. She even worked with my in-laws to help us find a caterer for our rehearsal dinner. Her team also provided the alcohol, which kept things really easy. She helped run the rehearsal so that we were all prepped for the big day. She let me share my vision and offered great advice when I asked. She also answered so many questions about Asheville and the event in general over the months before the wedding. I live on the West Coast so couldn't do the walk-through of the venue before the event, so she Facetimed me and my husband in and walked us through the venue for over an hour. That kind of service goes above and beyond! The day of the wedding Heidi and her team (including Melissa, Lexie and Tristen) took care of the details to make sure everything was in place, vendors arrived, and even got the flower girls and ring bearers in place. Hands down the best decision I made surrounding my wedding ceremony & reception was to hire Cordial & Craft! Heidi, Amanda, Cataldo, and Lexie provided more attention, specialized consideration, and general assistance than advertized and expected. Every interaction was pleasant, professional and helpful and resulted in my walking away absolutely confident that my wishes would be executed successfully and that I was not overlooking anything that may have otherwise contributed to an unexpected mishap on the day of the event. Even a relaxed, indoor/outdoor, no-fuss wedding requires extensive planning and logistical considerations to ensure a smoothly flowing sequence of events while accounting for the various needs and expectations of guests. Heidi and Amanda took my preliminary plan and helped me fill-in all the missing details by sharing their previous event-planning experiences so that I could develop a comprehensive and individualized plan of my own. This happened over the course of weeks through various emails, text messages, and meetings over beer and tea. Heidi & Amanda's love and excitement for weddings and other gatherings were abundantly clear, and they were truly invested in making my event spectacular and communicated effectively with the staff at Lake Eden. Regarding decorations & set-up/clean-up, Amanda and Heidi's decorations were breathtakingly beautiful from the windy hilltop ceremony to the rustic indoor barn reception. I had provided loose ideas and encouraged them to be creative. They even decorated the bride & groom cabin with flowers and wedding gifts, and they stocked the fridge with drinks & leftover food, which was an unexpected surprise at the end of the night! Regarding photography, Cataldo made sure he knew our "must-have" shots ahead of time and even experimented with various lenses and lighting options on a site-visit to Lake Eden long before the day of the wedding. He and his photographer assistant, Lina, were on the sidelines- or right in the action at times - of every special mini-event throughout the day from pre-ceremony photos to the send-off. Cataldo and Lina were particularly gifted at working with my goofy, camera-shy groom and were directive but not demanding, relaxed but purposeful. Regarding bartending and food service, Lexie and her supporting staff of bartenders and food attendants made sure that my guests had everything they needed from Old Fashions to assistance locating the gluten-free dessert option. The reception staff were pleasant and appeared to enjoy being part of our event! My daughter got married on September 6th, 2015 and Heidi from Cordial & Craft was the wedding coordinator. The wedding was at Castle Ladyhawke and was just elegant! It was apparent that a lot of effort had been put into planning and coordinating every minute detail. The wedding began on time followed by cocktail hour, dinner, dancing and fireworks. Everything was flawless! Heidi has answers to every question. Several months before the wedding, my husband and I had gone to see the venue. Heidi took time out of her busy day and told us how the day was going to flow. She patiently answered any questions we had. A few days before the wedding Heidi sent the bridal party details about the Rehearsal Dinner even where to park! Since this was a destination wedding, that was a huge help. The day off the wedding Heidi was at the castle early in the morning and even had a back up plan in case it rained. She was extremely professional and was running in nine million directions but always had a smile on her face. I'm a teacher and have written hundreds of lesson plans for years but have never seen one with such intricate details and backup plans for everything! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience working with Rachel and Heidi to execute our wedding at Yesterday Spaces on 4/23/2016. Cordial and Craft did day-off coordination (with unlimited questions leading up to the event), the bar at the wedding, and to help with catering and the bar at the rehearsal dinner too. We had 150 people at our wedding, and I ended up being a pretty detailed-oriented, organized, opinionated bride :) PROS: - Throughout the wedding process, I felt taken care of and respected. Both Rachel and Heidi always answered my emails within 72 hours, and we set up at least 4 skype/phone conversations over the 9 months of working with them. They also went out of their way to accommodate many vendor meetings/taste testings/etc: my dad's solo visit to NC in October, my fiancé and I's visit to NC in December, and then the vendor-only meeting in March (one month out from the wedding). They gave recommendations of various vendors to use, but ultimately let me decide, and weren't super picky or pushy at any point in the process. They made sure our vision was lived out, and were able to politely handle my dad when he muddled too deeply at moments. They were perfectly hands on and off leading up to the wedding. - The team went above and beyond in many ways, esspecially since I was planning the wedding from another coast (I lived in San Francisco, and hadn't spent a ton of time in the Asheville area). First off, I initially didn't know what I wanted - I didn't have a 'style' or a dream look/feel/color scheme. But they encouraged me to make a Pinterest board and I totally used them as sounding boards as I figured out the "theme" of the wedding (neutral rustic glam). They shared ideas with me, but never made me feel pressured to take them. - As the wedding got closer, they really stepped up and took over some things: (1) sensing that I was a hyper-organized bride, 2-months out from the wedding Rachel put together a beautifully detailed timeline for the day and map of the different locations with our decor items labeled. It was gorgeous and so helpful, and those documents really helped us stay on the same page, and keep the groom/family/vendors up to speed, too (2) about a month before they went to the venue without me, brought linens samples, Facetime-d me in, showed me the different samples in the different locations, helped me decide which linens, and then confirmed the linen order for me (3) we came up with a vision for our photo booth together, and I made some materials, but when we realized we needed a few more things, Rachel spent an afternoon at Michael's buying last minute materials and made sure the photo booth came to life! And it was PERFECT - Day of, things went great. Both Heidi and Rachel were on site at the rehearsal dinner and at the wedding, starting at 10:30am (for a 3:30pm ceremony). I made sure all the decor items were there, but they handled ALL the setup (even putting stickers on items, unwrapping frames from boxes, etc) and all of the vendor coordination. Even when tragedy struck - all of our charger plates delivered in boxes were broken in two - they handled it without bothering me (asked my dad if we could buy more, asked someone to go buy more, covered the cost until we could repay them, etc). My guests said it was the most thoughtful and organized wedding they'd been to. And I didn't have to stress out at all that day! - They handled me, our families, and our friends with amazing grace, and never showed frustration, angst, etc. They brought a 'day of' kit with everything we may need, including eye drops (when my eyelashes started falling off). They always came over to ask how we were, if we needed anything. They adjusted our schedule live as necessary. They also had to 'cut off' 3 people from the bar, and did so in a way that was totally loving and appropriate. They made sure we had food to take with us, and that our luggage made it on the bus. THINGS TO KNOW: - The rehearsal went a little long; Rachel was SUPER directive and helpful, but my bridal party was super experienced and didn't need to practice a 3rd time! - We ran 20-25min behind schedule and it made me a bit nervous; ended up being fine, but I wished I had reviewed the timeline with Rachel in more depth beforehand. - My guests drink a lot, and Heidi and her team had to get beer/wine 3 more times throughout the night! Again, ended up being fine, but if you know your guests drink a lot make sure that's known! :) read more

We knew going into our wedding that an open bar was a must, but Cordial & Craft exceeded all of our expectations and then some! During the planning process, Heidi and Lexie were ALWAYS quick with responses, easy to work with, and used online tools that made it seamless to plan and execute our event from a couple states away. Their empathy and ability to connect with me as a bride made me feel really secure in our decision to use their services since I felt like they understood our vision for our event and our guests. We chose to do two signature cocktails, which were personalized twists on classic cocktails. They were a hit! I don't think a guest went without a drink all night long! With the liquor, beer, and wine, we also chose to incorporate sodas and homemade lemonade, which were equally a hit. What really blew me away though is that they returned all of the unconsumed sodas, wine, etc. to us after. We hadn't anticipated that, but it was really thoughtful that they took the time to pack it up and send it home with us, leaving us even more impressed since the quality of service and product we received far exceeded our financial commitment. If you want an easy planning process and the best bar experience for your guests, Cordial and Craft is the only way to go! As a business owner of 30 yrs we understand the importance of reviews and must say that our family got caught with their "pants down" on this one. My recommendation would be a negative number if we could . . . our son and new daughter-in-law were highly upset as well as ourselves as the parents when we ran out of alcohol 2 hours into the event. We had paid in full for five hrs for 150 guests (123 attended with not everyone drinking including myself - the mother of the groom). Examples of issues: 1) Just as cocktail hour started I asked about the mixers for their signature drinks to ensure enough was available. Signature drinks were to be served during cocktail hour for all our guests and then made available to our bridal party for the entire evening. I was told by the bartenders that they may not have enough as they only bought two gallons of each mixer. Guess they didn't get the memo that we had paid for 150 guests. 2) Ten guests were cut-off with pride by the bartenders - when confronted after our groom and bride got upset, I asked with our planners (3 of them) with me why and was told guests were getting sick and slurring their words. When asked who the guests were they could only tell me the mother of the bride and a blonde young lady that they pointed out. First, I do not drink and had been checking and socializing with everyone the entire evening. Secondly, the mother of the bride was NOT drunk but having a good time dancing and celebrating, Thirdly, I am recommending the blonde guest "sue" Cordial and Craft because she has a handicap and was not slurring her words. She of course is more of a profesionnal and stated that she appreciated us adressing the issue because it was quite embarrassing . She is both hearing impaired and has a speech impediment because of her handicap which the bartenders should "know the difference between a drunk and someone with a handicap". What a shame that one of our bridesmaid and the mother of the bride got cut-off due to the "bartenders attitude and arrogance". Yes - you are reading correctly . . . they were proud of cutting my guests off and didn't care when discussing the matter with us. 3) When asked the bartenders could not tell me where the champagne was but only stated that the pumpkin beer was all that was left with 3 hrs left in the party. It of course quickly ran out - My planners had to locate champagne for us so the evening could be completed with our guests. Let me remind everyone that we were at a private location which we highly recommend (The Farm), had purchased an ABC permit, had purchased insurance liability policy, paid in full Cordial & Craft one week before wedding which was Oct. 15, 2016, had hired two school buses with drivers (for our guests staying at local hotels), had UBER on call, etc. just for these two bartenders to insult our guests and short us on the alcohol that was purchased in advance and suppose to be provided by them. Makes you wonder why they didn't bring extra alchohol as the other reviews have indicated or better still why they knew we had 150 guests and shorted us . . . is this how they do business in an effort to make more money thinking their guests won't notice. Wedding was perfect thanks to our planners and "The Farm". If your planner suggest "Cordial & Craft" for your event . . . I would say no thank you!!!!!! read more
