OK- so my story is a bit long....but I have to tell you that Marc has truly changed my life. I've had knee pain for the past 2 years that no one could diagnose or fix. I couldn't run or even go up stairs without feeling pain. I developed it during a boot camp class at the Crunch in Russian Hill. Live and learn.....don't do boot camp class there after you turn 30. I had three MRIs and saw 5 doctors, 3 physical therapists, 4 chiropractors, and an acupuncturist. I always said the same thing: "treat me as if I'm a professional athlete and my livelihood depends on getting this knee injury resolved." While I think people tried and had the best intentions, no one was able to help me. Nothing showed on the MRIs and while I was offered exploratory surgery, I couldn't work myself up to actually do it. I found Marc through a friend of a friend and basically told him I didn't care if he wore feathers and jumped around in circles, just do his thing and see if he could help. (He does not wear feathers or jump around in circles, just my sense of humor.) He looked at the way I stood, the way I walked, the way I flexed my knees when bending and came up with a theory on why I was experiencing knee pain....an imbalance in my back and hip flexors. He worked on me for about an hour and a half.....it's not a super comfortable treatment as it gets deep into the muscles, just so you know. But seriously, aftewards my knee pain was gone. I still have some clicking in my knee....I've been back to see him a couple of times for good measure. And I've started doing the bicycle at the gym to make sure that things keep tracking the right way in the knee. But it's really liberated me in so many ways. Now, be aware he's not cheap. And unless you've got that kind of insurance that reimburses you no matter what (which I do not), it will pinch your wallet. But to me it was totally worth it. I wasn't able to ski, move apartments (had to be in an elevator building since I couldn't do stairs), or go up and down hills without looking doing this ridiculous looking pimp roll kind of walk (hard in SF!). And if a bus were to have come barreling down the street toward me I wouldn't have been able to move fast enough to get out of the way. Just so you can understand the contrast, I recently got back from Argentina where I hiked for 4 hours on a glacier.....just wouldn't have been possible before. (Apologies to those who think glaciers should be left alone for environmental reasons) Marc, I'm not sure if you read this stuff.
