So I went in for an 815a appointment on Monday, MLK Day. I completed all the forms in advance on their website so the check-in at the Kiosk when you enter was was smooth. It was very busy for that early on a Monday morning. But I was called back within about 10 minutes. I met with an assistant, who asked a lot of questions, she left and came back in about 5 minutes and said they needed X-Rays. Another 5 minutes and I was in and out of X-Ray. In another 5 minutes Kevin McCullough, PA came in and asked a few more questions, we talked about the X-Rays and his diagnosis. Some long worded medical term but he said it's called 'trigger finger'. He said the repetitive use of my right hand gripping the club contributed to it, plus my age plus a chronic medical condition I have. He gave me a steroid injection and said that should resolve it. If after about a week or two, if it continues to give a call and it may mean out-patient surgery. When you get of a 'certain age' these things become typical so I'm not surprised. The good news, OrthoCarolina is a top tier medical provider. Their process and their people make things like this smooth and easy. I was in and out in about 30 minutes and had the info I needed: diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. I felt real good about everything.
