I decided to give Core Wellness Centre a try after I was looking at their favourable Google reviews. I am suffering from chronic migraines and Dr. Kris Dorken said that the alignment of my neck was likely the reason for these migraines. He also said that it might make sense to attend physiotherapy in their clinic to stretch out my neck muscles. Despite going there for at least 7 months my symptoms never improved. When I asked Dr. Kris what he thought was causing my migraines, he admitted that he didn't really know. What's also concerning is the high turnover of the physiotherapists in the clinic. I'm not really sure what's going on here, but over the 7 month period that I attended the clinic I had 4 different physiotherapists. I think that Core Wellness Centre is underpaying these physiotherapists, as the receptionists offered me a 50% discount on physiotherapy services right from the beginning. Perhaps the physiotherapists are not being paid properly and leave the clinic to pursue better opportunities. Nonetheless, I do not recommend Core Wellness Centre. I tried to leave a Google review for this business but was unable to do so. I know that it's difficult to prove but I think this business is paying people to post 5-star Google reviews. read more

I came in looking for acupuncture for an acute migraine. I was in a lot of pain and was pressured to get a chiropractic adjustment. Not only did this not reduce my pain, my spine went numb overnight and then I had to remain home from work for an additional day because I had extreme pain in my mid-back. Dr Kris said he would call me the night of my appointment to check in, which he never did. I called early the next morning when I woke up in pain to cancel my follow-up appointments and THEN he called me back. I would never recommend this clinic or chiropractor. read more

I had what was supposed to be a RMT massage at Core Wellness and it was the worst massage I've ever had and one of the most terrible experiences. I was not properly draped (only a small towel that covered 1/3 of my body), the therapist used a machine on my back straight away that hurt and when I protested, she ignored me. It was, quite simply, not a massage. She spent a lot of time tickling instead of massaging, she put on latex gloves to massage my feet and when I asked for more covers because I was cold, she ignored me. I asked again, and she grudgingly obliged, only to have the 2nd towel fall and she never retrieved it. The therapist was 15 minutes late starting my appointment but finished on time. The experience wasn't relaxing or tranquil; I could hear clearly the radio blaring from the other room and the therapist was obviously untrained and putting in as little effort as possible. It's been the only experience I've had where I was ready to get up and walk out on the massage. I've had joint and musculature issues so I've had lots of massage therapy and I can't believe that the therapist who massaged me had any certification. They are passing this off as legitimate, but it isn't. I felt scammed. read more

i have been seeing Dr. Kris since last winter. When I started with him, my back was so messed up it took me 5 minutes to get out of bed in the morning. During my assessment appointment, I had trouble sitting down and getting back up out of a chair. During the follow-up appointment, Dr. Kris gave a small group presentation to myself and 4 or 5 other new patients. I have never had any other chiropractor explain things the way he did about spine health and sample case studies of before and after x-rays of patients going through his care. The results were impressive, as was the education he provided in that half hour. That really was amazing! I began with treatments 2X per week and within a couple of weeks I could get out of bed and walk around pain free. I went from 2 appointments/ week, to 1 per week and now I go twice per month. It has been like night and day thankfully. At age 57, I was certainly heading for a downward spiral had I not had Dr. Kris's well laid out program and on-going care. Dr. Kris's staff provided me with a very reasonable payment plan with my commitment to the program over a period of months. I am so glad they did this, as I truly believe that because of the consistency of regular appointments I have had, together we have reversed and greatly improved my back and spine issues. Further proof of this was evidenced by the follow-up x-rays Dr. Kris took of my spine. My only regret is not going sooner!
