If I could give this company negative stars, I would. Corebridge Financial is the definition of a leech--they are happy to take your money, but the moment you try to access it or leave, they make your life a living hell. My experience has been a financial nightmare. When I first attempted to withdraw from my annuity, their incompetence cost me thousands. They failed to stop the payments properly, which resulted in me taking a 10% hit NOT once, but TWICE. Their inability to process a simple transaction penalized me directly out of my own pocket. Now, I am trying to finally close this account for good, and they are obstructing me at every turn. I submitted their required cancellation forms, but because of a single, minor error on a checkbox, they are refusing to fix it over the phone. Even though they can verify my identity, they are forcing me to resend the entire packet via physical mail. This isn't "security," it's a stall tactic designed to hold onto your money for as long as possible. They do not deserve one cent from the clients they have. What a shiesty company. I sent them all of the paperwork and they signed for it on 5/4/2026. They say they mailed the check but I never received it. Now they are saying they will have to cancel the check they already mailed and start this process all over again. Please, if you truly love the ones you are leaving a policy for... use a different company. I'm having to deal with the grief of losing my mom and calling these people everyday. Corebridge Financial sent my wifes Annuity earnings elsewhere, then told her to go get it from someone else's bank account. My wife worked for a school district in California literally saving kids lives for over 30 years. When she retired she a had invested each month into a small Annuity managed by Corebridge Financial. She called them to release her retirement funds to her and gave them information on her 1 and only bank account. Corebridge Financial sent the funds to someother unknown bank account. When we followed up with them they aregued that my wife had given them a bank acct from an unknown bank. Then they told her to contact the other bank and ask them to send her back her money from the unknown bank account. its been 2 years now and still no resolultion. They continue to claim to be "investigating" but they have just plain stolen or mishandled the money. We will now need to go to court to get my wifes hard earned money to her and hopefully as many penalties as the law will allow. Stay away from any account managed by Corebridge Financial. This company has stolen my retirement funds. They keep stringing me along that if I fill out some "phantom paperwork" that is "in the mail" that they'll one day be able to send me my money. They've been telling me this for the last 4 months... just excuses; This is just a scam company. They are pretending there's something wrong with my DOB... Now on hold for extended periods of time (50 minutes plus) and then hung up on. Three hours today attempting to contact Customer Service. Complete run around providing us with different phone numbers only to be told they cannot find an account although they have provided us information on the claim in the past. read more

This company needs to train their customer service. They transfer your call for one person to another. I called multiple times where was given different information one person did not want to give us a dollar amount called again got the dollar amount. One person didn't wanna give us the names of all the beneficiaries called again and spoke to a different person and they did give us the name of the beneficiaries turns out my mom has a second account so I called in today And asked for all the names of the beneficiaries because there's some beneficiaries that have deceased and he said you just need to worry about yourself and I told him you know what your company needs to be all on the same page because you give out misleading information and how rude of you to say worry about yourself. Our mother just passed away and you're not being very helpful And you can't even understand what they're saying plus they love to cut you off. I had to stop them a few times and telling them let me speak. Somebody really needs to look into this company and fix this because there's a lot of money involved. They want us to fill out a claim forms with decisions when this money is gonna be taxed and I need to know how much money we're talking about so I could check off the correct box concerning taxes and they won't even do that. read more

This company is absolutely terrible. They took over AIG policies and now make payments very difficult so people will lose their policies. My payment was on auto pay and now there is no auto payment and the customer service hours are a joke and their automated system is horrendous. If I could give them zero stars, I would. My mother had a retirement account with Corebridge and recently passed away. I, along with my brothers and sister were the beneficiaries on her account. First, for some inexplicable reason, they sent everyone's forms to my house. My address - their names on the envelopes. Due to the issues my family experienced, I went into claiming my benefits without an ounce of trust for Corebridge to do the right thing. So I faxed my forms so that I would have a time/date stamp on when they received them. I'm glad I did because the first time I called to check on my benefits, they denied that they had received the forms. Once I established that I had a date/time stamp on my submission, they suddenly had received the forms and would distribute the funds as soon as possible. On my next call, they told me that they had received a lot of submissions and would be distributing the funds as soon as possible. It's been one excuse after another until I called them today and they said they didn't send the check because they didn't know where to send it. They sent me multiple forms, communications about my benefits for myself and for my family members. How do they not have my address? After letting them know i would be lodging a formal complaint, I finally got a manager who told me he's going to take care of it. We'll see. I don't believe that I won't be on the phone again with them next week. read more

I would give this company a zero rating if possible. My mother's investment firm was purchased by Corebridge and it has been a horrible experience since, including when my mother passed away. I am the executor of her trust and CANNOT get Corebridge to release her funds, to which I am lawfully entitled. I have completed and submitted their claim form package TWICE by mail and once by email, with zero response or action. I continue to call for updates and continue to receive either zero or conflicting information, and continue to be asked to submit forms which I have already submitted. They refuse to let me speak to a manager to rectify this situation and move this along, but rather say that I'll receive a call back, which I never receive. At the VERY LEAST this is a blatantly mismanaged company with ZERO customer service skills. And at most, they are criminally negligent with other people's money. I have done everything lawfully and legally required to obtain the money remaining in my mother's account with absolutely zero progress and a million excuses and conflicting instructions/updates. I wish there is a negative 5 star for this company. Their agent, a suzanne komisar, misrepresented the facts and misled my wife to transfer an IRA retirement account from her former brokerage company of hers to Corebridge IRA Annuity account under suzanne's management. Years later, we found the account under their management performed poorly and charged big fees annually. We wanted to transfer the money out to another brokerage company. Suzanne created a lot of excuses and difficulties not to let us do that. Finally, on march this year she ran out all the excuses and we formally requested the money to be transferred out from Corebridge. 2 months later we called her to check the status, she did not answer our calls or return our voicemails We called again and again, and kept got the same silent treatment. Finally, today, after 5 months, we asked our agent from the receiving brokerage company to make the phone calls together with us to Corebridge, we were told the reason that the money was not transferred was because they did not receive the photocopy of my wife's driver's license. And they said they informed susanne that they needed to see the driver's license. But obviously suzzane did not pass this message to us. She never called us and never answered our phone calls. This was a deliberate sabotage to our request. Now, 5 months later, we have to restart everything all over again! What a nightmare! What a terrible company! read more

For California State University employees/retirees, you may have noticed that VALIC-AIG (which managed 403(B)) has been sold to Corebridge Retirement Services in Texas. The CA DMV provides better customer service than Corebridge. My VALIC/AIG username and password don't work on their website. I was promised a 29-minute wait before I could talk to somebody about the simple task of setting up an account on their system. I tried multiple numbers with long waits and humans (whenever they did participate) that told me I had the wrong department. read more

Worst financial institution ever! Who put them in charge of AIG policies? Oh right the Feds. Well, the Feds need to come through now and tighten the screws. Corebridge has "no" customer service beyond a few lousy incomprehendable reps picking up the phones in Manila. I got my money but it took a long time to get even the top execs to respond to my complaints and requests for answers to my annuity beneficiary questions. After numerous letters to all the relevant executives (search tgeir web site & the business websites). I finally got a response letter from the no name customer service dept. Then I sent my withdrawal forns. My siblings had same problems and are still having them. Corebridge just doesn't want to let go of the money that rightfully belongs to the beneficiaries. I was so very unhappy with Corebridge Financial, formerly AIG. My father passed away in March of this year and had listed my brother and myself as beneficiaries to his Annuity policy he had with them. I called dozens of times and was given inaccurate information. My voicemail messages were NEVER returned! Their staff and management seems to be trained to give you the run around so they do not have to pay out death claims!!! I sent in the death certificate, power of attorney, and executor information multiple times each. They kept claiming the copy they received was not legible, was never received (despite fax confirmation it was received), or there was some other problem with the information. They would not give me details or any information about his account despite all the documentation I provided them! My fathers life insurance policy worth 10x his annuity was paid out within weeks and very simple with Nationwide, but Corebridge was a NIGHTMARE to deal with. I STRONGLY recommend that you invest your money elsewhere unless you do not care if this company is going to try to keep your money and screw over your heirs! I thought it was extremely LOW of them to give us such a hard time and hassle when our father had just passed away, but that is exactly what they did! BEWARE!!! read more

Its been 28 days since the check was cut to transfer my money to another company and it is still not in my account....I was not happy with the lack of service with Corebridge so I am working on moving my funds to another company. A request for funds transfered was sent to them approximately 6 weeks ago. After a couple weeks of not seeing the transfer I called, they said I had to send the forms in myself not though the other company (not typical). I sent forms in they cut the check on 9/20 (they said it would take 10 business days to get to the other company(Really)....They do not do electronic transfers....The check did not show so asked them to recut the check and send overnight..They agreed. Called back 4 days later and they said the check had been cut and they would make sure it was overnighted. Called back again and asked for a tracking number. Looked it up and it said the label was created but shipping company had not received it. Called back again and they said the check was not cut yet (who is lying, is it cut or not). After an hour on the phone the woman said the check going out today overnighted. Finally the check was sent 2DAY. Yesterday the company received the check but the check was not printed straight so it could not be scanned...The new company over nighted to headquarters to see if it could be deposited in person....now it is 10/18 and the money is still not in my new account..... read more

DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY HERE! Your heirs will be tortured trying to get any of it out. Customer Service takes over an hour to get to a person, and when you finally do get a person, they are difficult to understand and will give you inaccurate information. After my mother passed, we completed our paperwork and mailed it in. (they will not allow you to email it). After 2 months of NO COMMUNICATION, we called and spent over 90 minutes on the phone, only to be told that we forgot to check a box. They said we had to re-do the form and mail it in again. We immediately sent the new form in and after 2 weeks of NO COMMUNICATION, we called again, spent another 90 min on the phone and this person told me I had to change something else on the form. (said I had to put it in an IRA and not an Inheritance IRA - which is WRONG). Asked to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold for 36 min and when the supervisor came on, I swear it was the same person. The "supervisor" told me that after review of the form, it appears we have everything in order and I should hear from them in a few days. After 5 days I got a confirmation email. After 17 more days, the money was transferred. (charged a $175 transfer fee) All in all - 4 months to get the money out with a lot of hassle & effort on my part. My siblings still do not have their share. BEWARE - read the reviews...they are all negative. If you have money here, move it before it becomes a hassle for your heirs. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. They would get one million negatives. They are so difficult to work with. They actively make it impossible to get your money out that is rightfully yours. They make you do things like get a signature guarantee and when I went to my bank to do this, they were like, "we've never seen this request for a rollover before, can't they just do it over the phone like everyone else?" When I first tried to get the form to do the rollover, they make you call them and I waited on hold for over an hour. Peggy, the customer service rep, said to check my email and hung up on me. I did the best I could to fill out the forms, but turns out I needed to get a special signature and a certificate of approval from the plan administrator at the place I worked before. So, my request was denied by Corebridge and I have to start all over again. They are terrible, terrible, terrible. Avoid at all costs if possible! read more
